Amazing Race's Shroeder Family Lost Their Home in Hurricane Katrina
Wednesday October 19, 2005
The Shroeder family of New Orleans, LA were eliminated from the competition during last night's episode of The Amazing Race -- and that was just the beginning of their bad luck. Just weeks after the episode was taped, the family lost their home during Hurricane Katrina. Dad Mark Shroeder told CBS' Early Show that his house has been "gutted down to the studs" and there's "nothing left." He plans to rebuild. The family also revealed that their Race competitors, the Rogers family of Shreveport, LA, were nice enough to put them up for almost two weeks after the hurricane. Other families from the show sent them gifts, checks, and cards. Now, that's an amazing thing!
