Danni Wins Survivor, Season 12 Details Revealed
Monday December 12, 2005
30-year-old sports radio host and former beauty queen Danni Boatwright (bio/ photo gallery) is the winner of Survivor: Guatemala. (Sorry to all of you readers who were rooting for Stephenie to win.) For those of you who missed the finale, here's what went down.
Lydia was the first of the final four to be cut. After winning the second immunity challenge, Danni had the choice of taking Stephenie or Rafe to the finals. Thinking she had a better shot at beating Stephenie in the end, Danni ignored her alliance with Rafe and took him out of the game. A ticked off Rafe vowed that he would vote for Stephenie. At the final tribal council, both Stephenie and Danni had some explaining to do about their actions during the show. But in the end, Danni -- who had made the least enemies -- got the most votes to win Survivor: Guatemala. (Need more juicy details? Get a full finale recap from MSNBC.com. )
The winner was announced during a reunion special that aired live from Los Angeles. At the end of the show, it was revealed that the upcoming season of Survivor is now being filmed in Panama. The new season, which will air next Spring, is called "Survivor: Panama, Exile Island."
As always, producers are promising plenty of surprises and twists for the new season. A preview hinted that something is hidden on the island that means a lot to the game. The preview also revealed that each week, one castmate will be "banished" and separated from their tribemates for days at a time.
