What You Need to Know About The Biggest Loser: Special Edition

The Biggest Loser: Special Edition premieres next Wednesday. It's a bit different from the Biggest Loser you're used to, so let me fill you in on what you need to know.

  • The teams on The Biggest Loser: Special Edition consist of family members or friends.
  • The teams train with Bob and Jillian for only 10 days on the ranch. Then they must return home to continue their weight loss journey.
  • Each team will appear on two episodes of the show. The first week, we will see them competing on the Biggest Loser ranch. The second week, we will see them in the real world. The winning team will be revealed at the end of the second episode.
  • The prize on The Biggest Loser: Special Edition is cut from $250,000 to $50,000.

    The show's two hour premiere will feature two families (The Muha family from Tampa, Fla and the Samuel Family from Atlanta, GA.) An upcoming episode will feature engaged couples.

    Catch the premiere next Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 8 pm ET.
