Battle of the Teen Divas on American Idol?

With all of the compliments being thrown in the way of young contestants Lisa Tucker and Paris Bennett, American Idol 5 just may shape up to be a battle of the teen divas. Last night, the judges went as far as saying the older contestants could learn a thing or two from Lisa, 16, and Paris, 17. But who are these teen singers and why are they set to rock American Idol? Let's compare their backgrounds.

Who: Paris Bennett


Hometown: Fayetteville, Georgia

Age: 17

Started Singing: 4 Years Old

Advantages:
  • She was trained by grandmother Ann Nesby, who is the powerful singer from the 90's music group Sounds of Blackness.
  • She has plenty of experience performing on stage. She even opened for several music acts, including popular teen rapper Bow Wow.



    Who: Lisa Tucker

    Hometown: Anaheim, CA

    Age: 16

    Started Singing: Two Years Old

    Advantages:
  • Has formal singing training.
  • Has impressive stage experience. Played the original "Young Nala" in Disney's Los Angeles production of "The Lion King."
  • Variety named her one of the "Top Ten Talents to Watch."
