Top Model Interview : Stumbling Kari Blames Heels
Thursday March 23, 2006
As I mentioned before, Kari, an 18-year-old student from South Dakota, was the contestant eliminated on Wednesday night's episode of America's Next Top Model. Kari was cut from the competition after stumbling her way through a runway challenge. It wasn't pretty!Kari tells me her shoes had a lot to do with the runway disaster.
"I had never done any modeling prior to the show and I had never done runway. Tumbling wasn't really a surprise to me," she said. "I don't usually walk around in four inch heels. I'm not one of those girls who usually walks around in heels."
And that was just the beginning of Kari's shoe issues. "I wear a size seven. I have really small feet. The smallest they'd have is a 9," she told me. "So it's hard to find shoes if they don't fit. I don't really like to complain about it or make excuses but when you have to stuff your shoe with toilet paper, it's kind of difficult. "
But Kari isn't too discouraged by what happened. "I'll redeem myself!" she joked.
Though she plans to continue modeling, Kari is currently attending school at South Dakota State University. She is majoring in Consumer Affairs.
