Kellie Pickler Tells Me She Is Smarter Than Ryan Seacrest

Thursday April 27, 2006
Kellie PicklerKelly Pickler says she's smarter than Ryan Seacrest -- when it comes to certain topics, that is. During a conference call after her elimination from American Idol, I asked Kellie -- who the Idol host has poked fun at for being clueless about certain things -- if there are any topics that she knows more about than Ryan or the Idol judges. "Oh, gosh. I don’t know," she answered. " I love to fish. And these are city people, so I don’t know if they go fishing or not, so that would maybe be one thing that I would be more knowledgeable about than they would... and good food. The best food is in North Carolina, the Southern fried foods are the best, so I’m more knowledgeable on good taste."

I also asked Kellie if she would do another reality show. "Yes, I would do another reality show," she said. "I think it’s fun because it’s so easy to just be yourself, so much easier to just be Kellie than to try to be somebody that you’re not. So as long as the reality show that you’re on is really a reality show and not scripted, then I would be a part of it because American Idol is not scripted. What you see is what you get. I feel very honored to have been a part of American Idol, and I couldn’t think of another reality show that would be better than American Idol. So I don’t know, it’s the best. We have the best people to work with. They take such good care of us, and you couldn’t ask to work with a better group of people."
