Regis Philbin Will Host Simon Cowell's New Show America's Got Talent

Regis Philbin has been chosen to host the upcoming NBC summer series America's Got Talent. As previously reported, America's Got Talent is a new talent competition being produced by American Idol judge Simon Cowell. Unlike American Idol, contestants will include singers, comedians, dancers, and unique acts of all ages.

“For years I've thought about hosting a variety show on television but I could never put it together in my mind,” Regis said in an NBC press release. “Finally, here it is and I'm thrilled to be a part of it.” Simon was quoted as saying “Regis is just the best, and I am really looking forward to working with him.”

NBC also announced that the show will air on Wednesdays, 9-10 pm ET/PT and a results show will air on Thursdays, 8:30 pm ET/PT. America's Got Talent premieres on June 21. Read about more summer shows.
