Band Sues Rock Star: Supernova
So, there's a band out there called Supernova-- and it's not the one formed by Tommy Lee, Gilby Clarke, and Jason Newsted for the reality show Rock Star: Supernova. The Supernova I am talking about is an Orange County pop trio that has been around for years, and they're ticked off that Tommy Lee's new band and the CBS show are using their name. Supernova number one is suing the producers of the show for unfair competition and trademark infringement. In their suit, they ask for the destruction of all "labels, signs, prints, packages, wrappers, containers, advertisements, electronic media and other materials bearing the Supernova mark." You'd think the less popular band would be happy that someone may accidentally stumble on their website because of the Supernova show. I know I did a couple of weeks ago. But I see where they're coming from. Two Supernovas just gets confusing. We'll see how it all works out.
In other Rock Star: Supernova news, the second contestant eliminated from the show was Chris Pierson. Chris heard the bad news Wednesday night during this week's elimination show.

Update: It turns out the Supernova website I came across belonged to a little band based in New Jersey. So there's yet another Supernova out there.

That’s hilarious. I was actually wondering about whether there was already a band by that name as I watched last night.
And I was also wondering when they get to meet with the vocal coach. Hopefully soon, because this batch of “rockers” just isn’t impressing me as much as last year’s.
