Top Model's Jaeda Regrets Making A Big Deal About Hair

Thursday November 16, 2006
If you have been watching America's Next Top Model this season, you know that gorgeous contestant Jaeda was devastated when she was forced to get a super-short haircut. She was constantly complaining about her new hairstyle because she no longer felt feminine.

Jaeda says she started to see things differently after she was eliminated from the competition on the episode that aired last night. "I actually regret making such a big deal about it," she told me in an interview today. "I wish I could just focus more and what I needed to get done and not worry about all of the little things like that. My hair was just really not that big of a deal."

Jaeda is so over it, she said she's not even sure if she will grow her hair back to the length that it was. "I'll probably just keep it short," she said.

Talk about a change of attitude!

One thing Jaeda is still upset about is the way she was treated in Spain by a male model, who didn't want to work with her because he doesn't like black girls.

"It’s not just the fact that he said that, but it’s the fact that he wouldn’t participate and help me learn more lines for the commercial the next day," she said. "It really upset me. It’s like, you can say anything you want to me, but don’t keep me from doing what I gotta do."

Now that she is out of the running toward becoming America's Next Top Model, Jaeda says she is rooting for her friend Cari-Dee.

"She has the best attitude," Jaeda told me. "She’s the coolest person ever. She’s great on and off set and she’s got what a model needs to have."

Jaeda is back in college now pursuing a degree in Elementary Education. She plans to continue modeling and wants to thank all of her fans their support. "It makes me feel so much better about this competition," she said. "I worked really hard and it’s great to have everyone’s support."
