You watched Taylor Hicks' journey from unknown singer to national superstar on American Idol. So, will you buy his CD this week?

The self-titled disc drops today, the same day Fantasia Barrino's second album hits stores. The big question is which album will sell the most copies. I predict that Taylor's album, which Taylor describes as his "modern take on soul music," will come out on top. Fans who were converted to Soul Patrolers during the American Idol season want to discover what the gray-haired crooner's music is all about.

But I hope Idol fans won't forget to pick up Fantasia's album, as well. Her first album's sales were disappointing compared to sales numbers for Idol winners Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. Maybe this is the disc that will send her to the top.
