Favorite Moments from American Idol's New York Auditions
Thursday January 25, 2007
It was up to New York, NY on last night's episode of American Idol. Here are favorite moments my from the New York City auditions:
- The Worst of the Worst: I love it when the judges weed out the annoying actors who are seeking fifteen seconds of fame. One of my favorite moments came at the beginning of the show when Simon dissed and dismissed Ian Benardo, who also auditioned for So You Think You Can Dance last year. It's getting old, Ian!
- I Wanna Be A Soap Star: I thought Zarf's over-the-top scenes on All My Children were a melodramatic mess. One rejected singer, who delivered a lengthy, dramatic speech that I'm guessing she practiced for weeks, should consider auditioning for Soapnet's I Wanna Be a Soap Star.
- Future Heartthrob? : How cute was Jenry Bejarano, the 16-year old from Rotterdam, New York? If he doesn't make it in music, he should give modeling a try.
- Speaking of Attractive Contestants: When best friends Amanda Coluccio and Antonella Barba walked into the room, it seemed Simon and Randy had forgotten that these ladies were there to actually sing. But the 19-year-old New Jersey natives delivered impressive auditions -- especially Antonella, who , unlike her friend Amanda, is not musically trained.
