Tuesday Reality Check: Kathy Griffin's Emmy Win and Controversy, Bravo's New Dance Show, Bachelor News

Tuesday September 11, 2007
  • Congratulations to Kathy Griffin, who won a well-deserved Creative Arts Emmy over the weekend for her Bravo reality show Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List.  But does winning the Emmy mean our favorite D-list diva is moving on up to the A-list? I mean, an Emmy should promote her to at least the B-list, right? Anyway, Kathy's win is being overshadowed by a brewing controversy over her acceptance speech.  Find out why Kathy may have gone way too far this time. (Kathy's photo © Frederick M. • Bravo is going ahead with a new dance competition called Step it Up. According to their press release, "Whether it's a music video one week or a Vegas spectacular the next, Bravo's new dance series will feature challenges in which the dancers audition for a range of parts, designed to showcase their versatility and moves. As the competition gets fierce and contestants are eliminated, only one person will get the final 'call back' and the chance to perform, with the ultimate dancer winning a cash prize."  If you would like to audition for Step it Up, visit www.bravotv.com for more info.

  • ABC is talking about the new season of The Bachelor. Just some of the things we can expect : One woman falling down the stairs and being rushed to the hospital, an elimination that ABC is calling "the most emotional exit in Bachelor history" (but they always say that), and a trick played on the bachelorettes by Bachelor Brad's twin brother Chad.   In case you're wondering, ABC says Chad is equally hot!
