Back in 2000 --  when we were all talking about naked Richard Hatch and Sue Hawk's famous "rats and snakes" speech --  it was impossible to predict if America's  interest in CBS' hot new show Survivor  would continue beyond a couple of seasons.  Well, CBS announced on Monday that two more editions of Survivor have been picked up for the 2008-2009 season -- marking the 17th and 18th editions of the show!  

Thanks to the show's consistently good ratings over the years, executive producer Mark Burnett says the Survivor torch won't be snuffed out any time soon.  "I am looking forward to many more seasons of Survivor," he said in a press release. 

Also looking ahead, Jeff Probst has signed a new agreement to continue hosting the show.
