David Archuleta Defends His Dad
While Jeff Archuleta is being vilified by the media, David Archuleta is standing up for his father in the new issue of TV Guide.
"I've heard some weird things that people have been saying, and it's kind of a bummer," David reportedly told TV Guide. "I think I, of all people, would know what's going on, and he's been great."
Reports surfaced last week that David's father has been banned from Idol's backstage for not respecting the wishes of producers and being a little bit too involved behind the scenes of the show. Some earlier reports claim Jeff Archuleta even withheld water from David during a recording session!
"That's kind of stupid. I'm 17," David told TV Guide. "I think I'd be able to stand up for myself if he were to take my water away."
Even though David would probably never really admit that his father is the stage dad from hell, it's good to hear his response to the whole controversy. And I'm happy to hear that the poor kid's water isn't being taken away!

i have to say david did the right thing to stand up for his dad. Even though i love American Idol i dont think it’s right to just band someone from being back stage with his son. I mean he’s 17 years old for crying out loud. Sometimes parents dads especially are a little to protective.
