The Week's Must-See Reality TV

Monday June 9, 2008
With so much excitement to look forward to in reality TV land this week, will I be able to tear myself away from the TV to read a few chapters of a good book? Maybe after I watch DeAnna have her emotional confrontation with the remaining bachelors on ABC's The Bachelorette. Time for the suitors to shape up? Following The Bachelorette on Monday night, The Mole's second episode of the season will involve a soccer game, a wheelbarrow, and some missing pigs in Chile. But most importantly, the second player will be "executed"!

Meanwhile, over on NBC, it will be time for the two-hour season premiere of Nashville Star. With twelve hot new acts, a new host, and a new network, it could turn out to be the show's most exciting season yet. (Now the question is, should I watch ABC live and Tivo NBC -- or watch NBC live and Tivo ABC? Decisions, decisions!)

Then on Tuesday night, Chef Gordon Ramsay will dish out some more verbal abuse on Hell's Kitchen. There are only five contestants -- or as Chef Ramsay would call them, five donkeys -- left in the game! Who will be told by Padma to pack their knives and...oops, wrong chef competition. I'm thinking about Wednesday night, when a winner will be named on Top Chef: Chicago! After a cooking showdown in Puerto Rico, will the winner be Richard, Lisa, or Stephanie?!

Also on the menu for Wednesday night, the top 20 dancers on So You Think You Can Dance 4 will be paired into ten couples and finally compete for America' votes. The pressure is definitely on for the new duos! Then on Thursday night, two disappointed dancers will be eliminated from the competition during the first live results show of the season, which will also feature a performance by The Pussycat Dolls.

Um...Maybe I'll just read a good book over the weekend.
