Which Reality TV Hosts Were Nominated for the Emmy?

Thursday July 17, 2008
The nominees for the 2008 Emmy Awards were announced on Thursday -- and for the first time in the show's history, reality show hosts have been nominated for the prestigious award! But is this group of nominees deserving of Emmy glory? Here are the nominees:

Outstanding Reality TV Host
  • Ryan Seacrest for American Idol (Good for Ryan! I bet Simon wishes there was an Emmy for judges.)
  • Tom Bergeron for Dancing With the Stars (I think Tom deserves the golden lady. Maybe he should allow Samantha Harris to hold it sometimes.)
  • Howie Mandel for Deal or No Deal (Must feel good to be the only game show host nominated.)
  • Heidi Klum for Project Runway (Forget the boys! Finally, some girl power.)
  • Jeff Probst for Survivor (The Emmy committee has spoken and we agree that Jeff and his dimples deserve this nomination.)

THIS YEAR'S NOMINATED REALITY SHOWS
The list of nominees in the reality show categories looks the same as in recent years. No crazy shakeups like I Love New York being on the list or anything. Here are the nominees:

Outstanding Reality-Competition Program
  • American Idol -- Fox
  • Dancing With the Stars -- ABC
  • Project Runway -- Bravo
  • The Amazing Race -- CBS
  • Top Chef -- Bravo

Outstanding Reality Program
Congratulations to all of the nominees (especially my current favorites, Dancing With the Stars and D-List). Favorites, anyone?
