‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Boardroom Shocker: Khloe Kardashian Fired Over DUI

Monday April 6, 2009

So, even though Clint Black was by far the biggest disaster on last night's episode of The Celebrity Apprentice (read the NBC recap here), Donald Trump fired Clint's teammate Khloe Kardashian instead for an unexpected reason - the reality TV starlet's past arrest for DUI.  Trump claimed he had just learned of Khloe's much-publicized DUI and he just wasn't having it.

If you have been watching Khloe's reality show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, you know that Kim Kardashian's little sis has been facing the consequences of the DUI since she was arrested in March 2007.  The question is: Should Trump have fired Khloe over the DUI or should he have left her personal problems outside of the boardroom? Sound off in the comments.

(1) John Fischer says:

I have really enjoyed the two editions of Celebrity Apprentice until last night’s episode. Trump’s boardroom behavior may get me to stop watching the show. Almost always he bases his decisions on whom to fire on performance. Last night he was out of line. First he fires Tionne because she was willing to go to the boardroom with Melissa. That was a poor decision on his part. If anyone on that team deserved to be fired it was Melissa. Personally I liked their video and would not have fired anyone on that team.

The decision to fire Khloe because of her past DUI was simply undeserved and in bad taste. The woman’s DUI is common knowledge and you’ll never convince me that one of Trump’s handlers or someone at NBC didn’t tell him earlier than this. Is Trump saying that anyone who ever has a DUI should be fired? I’m sure several other contestants have DUI’s on their record. I guess Donald is just so perfect.

The decision to fire both Tionne and Khloe was all just to even up the male/female ratio on the show. Now we have 4 males and 5 females. If he had fired Clint, who definitely deserved it and no one on the other team, he would have had 3 males and 7 females. Trump is a male chauvinist.

What really pisses me off is that Trump endured Dennis Rodman’s drunken binges for weeks before he fired him.

Now, what’s will all of these star’s taking days off during the edition to do other things. If you can’t commit to the show 100%, don’t go on the show. The one guy didn’t even show up at all last night and Hershel was there only for the last day. Idiotic.

(2) John says:

I will not be watching the apprentice anymore. I have cancelled it from my TIVO and I am done. Donald Trump has ruined lives and has never had to pay for it whether it was cheating on his wives or bankrupting companies. Kloe made a mistake and is paying for it rightfully so…..however, does she not deserve a second chance. I applaude her for trying to make a differance and publicising her dui….she should not have been fired and in my book,,,,Donald you are fired!!!!

(3) Victory says:

I could not bring myself to appreciate Trump’s decision to fire Khloe based on DUI. He made it personal, but he fired Claudia a couple of weeks ago on grounds that she got personal in her PM role. I don’t get it. If he found Khloe’s DUI records in bad taste he should have let go off-camera and not have insulted her the way he did. I am a big fan of the show, but i am not sure if i wish to watch it anymore. Clint deserved to be fired yesterday and i don’t get that either – why he has been allowed to continue being in the show? When Trump made yesterday’s show a double firing, he could have gone a step further and made it a triple firing. Clint made such a distasteful choice of a viral video yesterday – he turned a family friendly detergent to a cheap porn thing, but he continues to be a contestant? I don’t get it, sorry.

(4) Marge Melton says:

I will not watch the show again due to the firing of Khloe on last night show. Mr.Trump made this personal and it did not have anything to do with the performance or the show. Have you never made a mistake and deserved a second chance, Mr. Trump? Doing this on National TV was over the line and she did not deserve this kind of treatment.

(5) MillyVanilla says:

Khole and the other celebrity – whose name I can’t remember, which goes to prove my point – were fired because they were the weakest “personalities” and The Donald found a convenient excuse to fire both of them. Clint was a egotistical, one-man disaster zone and deserved to be fired first. Trump got very personal with Khloe and she handled it with dignity.

April 6, 2009 at 1:53 pm
(6) Christina says:

I will not be watching the Apprentice anymore after firing Khloe, that was way out of line and had nothing to do with the show. She was a great project manager and showed great skill. Clint definatley should have been fired, he was way out of line and his commercial was a disaster and offensive. He would not listen to his team and right there is a horrible project manager.

April 6, 2009 at 2:02 pm
(7) Lynne in PA says:

Trump is an idiot. The entire show is based on “team work” so technically she was let go for simply being a team player by standing by Melissa. What he did to Khloe was just another example of how rude Tramp, oh, Trump is. I find it rather interesting how he runs his casinos, pumps you up with free booze, lets you lose you money and then when broke you leave. As though all the free booze justs goes away. I wonder how many of his casino customers got DUI(s) on the way home. Khloe has my full respect for not telling saying out loud what was screaming in her head. As for Clint, exact opposite. Lost all my respect for that scum. Apparently Dennis was the only one who knew the real Clint.

April 6, 2009 at 2:07 pm
(8) Loralei says:

I have always been a fan of The Apprentice. It was a total surprise to see how Donald Trump behaved in the boardroom. The 2 firings that took place had nothing to do with performance of the task. I am especially disappointed of the way he treated Khloe. I thought he was rude and out of line to say what he did – since it did not have do with the task. I also agree that the DUI has been public knowledge for some time and it is hard to believe that no one knew about it when they chose the contestants.

I won’t be watching anymore.

April 6, 2009 at 2:15 pm
(9) Julie says:

Trump was an ass last night. How could he not have known about the DUI? Not buying it. He must have really good business advisors b/c he makes very poor decisions – at least on this show. He picked the wrong guy last year and now he fired two people who did nothing wrong….oh well, I always have my books…

April 6, 2009 at 2:28 pm
(10) sue says:

Ditto. I will not be watching Celebrity Apprentice anymore… It’s all been said so I will try not to be redundant… but come on!
At the very least… it’s just bad TV. Doesn’t follow any accepted premise for the show other than the obvious fact that Trump is drunk with his own perceived power. Who does he think he is? God? Does (knowing how to amass large sums of) money give you that illusion? Puh-leeeeze. If so, I’d rather be destitute. So inconsistent.

Whatever… weaning myself from TV has become one step easier. She deserves an apology, and Trump needs a thump. I can hardly wait for someone to dig up some dirt on him … and give him no option to redeem himself.

The arrogance!

And firing Tionne… Whut thuh?

April 6, 2009 at 2:32 pm
(11) David says:

Donald Trump doesn’t realize that he’s completely undermined the show by not firing the people that are responsible for the end results. The leader of the winning team gets to donate to their charity, which is a big reward for a big risk. T-Boz and Khloe were not the leaders of the task, but got fired just because. Why would anyone watch the show knowing there is no logic to the outcome? From this point on, anyone could be fired for any reason, and that makes the show pointless to me since I want to see people held responsible for their actions. If Clint worked for an ad agency, the client would have gone to another agency.

April 6, 2009 at 2:40 pm
(12) Kenna says:

I will not watch the Apprentice anymore. I thought Trump was completely out of line firing Khloe Kardashian for her DUI. Clint Black was a horrible project manager and he completely ignored any and all comments from the woman. I found him totally oppressive and will refuse to listen to his music anymore based upon how he treated all the women. My husband even agreed that he was completely dismissive of any female input. Khloe has paid for her DUI by spending time in jail and taking classes – I am not promoting drinking and driving but this girl seems to have learned her lesson and I think she was good in this show.. Sorry Trump – I am firing you from my TV.

April 6, 2009 at 2:40 pm
(13) Jennifer says:

I was appalled, but not surprised, by the way Trump treated Khloe Kardashian. I’ve always known Trump lacked respect for women by his track record of infidelity. Khloe did not deserve to be chastised and Trump is in no position to be the judge of anyone.

April 6, 2009 at 2:42 pm
(14) Jennifer says:

Forgot to mention that no one in my household will be watching “Celebrity Apprentice.” And I think there are many viewers out there who share in my sentiments.

April 6, 2009 at 3:12 pm
(15) MICHELE says:

I agree with most of you that I was furious with his decision regarding Kloe Kardashian. A decision on this show has always been based on performance. Their were no performances except from Clint and his was brutal, and he put his team in danger because of his lame video. So insulting…..As team leader HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIRED. he was such a fool, and it was very hard to watch. Trump, I used to watch your show and eat at your restaurant in Palos Verdes. For being such a big mouth opininated fool, I will do neither. People make mistakes, she had paid her dues, and I how could Trump not have known. LIAR…Drama for tv is good, but not at someone elses expense. Shame on you Trump

April 6, 2009 at 3:17 pm
(16) Alan Schwarz says:

I was blown away on both choices of firings by Trump.Clint’s album “Drinkin’ Songs & Other Logic” is full of his exploits with alcohol. You can bet he’s driven his pickup truck home with one eye open more than once.Yet despite Black’s horrible performance as team leader and even worse, that piece of crap video which was his baby,Khloe gets the AX?Crazy! Then to fire Tionne simply for showing solidarity to the leader of the team with the MUCH FUNNIER video ranks right up there with Trumps hairdo for bad decision making.

April 6, 2009 at 3:24 pm
(17) Harold says:

Excellent episode, I think he did the right thing firing that little brat. Remember that her father helped OJ Simpson get away with murder!

April 6, 2009 at 3:31 pm
(18) TKD says:

Let me get this straight – Chloe gets fired for a past offense; Tara Conner (former Miss USA) gets a “second chance”, (because he said that he believed in them), for underage drinking, drugging, and pervocative indescretions during her reign. Um hmm

Trump is an arrogant fool who truly needs to be humbled. What an idot!

April 6, 2009 at 3:52 pm
(19) TKD says:

forgot to mention – I’m done! It’s funny, I gave the show a “second chance” and it will not be on in my home.

April 6, 2009 at 4:03 pm
(20) Johnny Z says:

I think Kardashian got the axe mainly because she’s not as big a star as Clint Black. That explains why Rodman was tolerated for so long. If all the big stars get booted early, there’s really no reason to watch. Melissa Rivers likely avoided the axe because she grates on others, increasing catty drama potential. Tione is soft-spoken and agreeable, a good potential co-worker, but not capable of generating any ratings.

April 6, 2009 at 4:11 pm
(21) scott says:

This show is about conflict and drama. The producers strongly suggest to Trump which contestants should stay or go. The DUI thing was just an excuse. They won’t dump Clint Black because there’s a juicy fued going on between Black & Joan Rivers. Reality tv is rarely real.

April 6, 2009 at 4:29 pm
(22) Dodger says:

I am shocked that Donald fired this young woman. Yes Khloe has a DUI..yes Donald Trump hates DUI offenders..Yes Donald Trump does make the rules for this show….Dennis should of been taken to a rehab center…Dennis is driving and drinking for all of any of us know…Khloe is getting her life straight and needs anther chance. Donald don’t let other people with DUI’s blind your judgement on Khloe! ” GIVE THE GIRL A ANTHER CHANCE”

April 6, 2009 at 4:35 pm
(23) wood says:

Trump is a jerk. He let the two decent people go and kept the edgy ones in an attempt to pump up ratings. I think it was cruel to speak that way to Khloe and get self righteous about what he thinks about drunk driving. We know he’s no angel. Khloe realizes she made a mistake and is paying for it. To throw her under the bus like that and then sit there and curl his lip and say that he’d done the right thing is ugly.

April 6, 2009 at 4:42 pm
(24) LJ says:

It will be a COLD DAY IN HELL the next time I ever watch Celebrity Apprentice — Trump is a horses ass — and Khloe getting fired over a prior DUI is beyond ridiculous. Trump should lose the show cause he has F’d up straw on his dome!

April 6, 2009 at 5:29 pm
(25) Jeff says:

“No class Trump” Just goes to show what he thinks of women. This Kardashian kid will pay here dues and didn’t deserve to be humiliates on national TV.

April 6, 2009 at 5:44 pm
(26) Jill says:

Are you kidding me? Isn’t this the man that allowed Tara Connor, Miss USA, to keep her title? That’s sad when you offer one person a second chance and another person is axed with not even a second thought. Oh and I love how he claims to not have known about Khloe’s DUI… does he live under a rock? Should he really be throwing stones? How many times has he made mistakes in his life? I will never watch this show again nor will I support the Trump name.

April 6, 2009 at 5:45 pm
(27) BDOG says:

Like it was said before, trump fired them because they were the weakest personalities in the show by far. Period. The problem is that he made his game pointless and just a weekly random firing session. He somehow managed to ruin the show.

April 6, 2009 at 5:48 pm
(28) Linda Randall says:

After last night’s firing of khloe, I too will no longer be watching “Celebrity Apprentice”. This firing is totally out of line…and far as I am concerned just proves what a bag of hot air he really is. Kloe has done every thing required by law. She has conducted herself with class. He gave Rodman many chances even though he appeared on camera “bombed”. Enough is enough!!!

April 6, 2009 at 6:40 pm
(29) Rock says:

I didn’t expect two firings today. Also if you follow the apprentice, it is not always based on performance in that one task. That’s the way it goes most of the time, but that’s not a rule. Khloe is the weaker candidate, even though Black tanked this week big time. Also there is a big difference between driving drunk, and drinking. Trump does not drink and even if Khloe already learned from her mistake, he’s also making a point to everyone that he does not condone it.

Not agreeing with his firings one week, shouldn’t be a reason to hate the show. He made a good point with Tionne the boardroom is about fighting for yourself not to get fired, not to support anyone else. So volunteering to go to the boardroom no matter what the reason is not a good move.

April 6, 2009 at 7:07 pm
(30) mj says:

I was very disappointed when Trump fired Kloe she is the main reason my daughter and I chose to watch the celeb apprentice. I was watching her show the night she got her DUI and although it was a mistake she regrets we know it was out of character for Kloe to be drinking and driving she is our favorite of the sisters. It had nothing to do with job performance and Trump should know in the real world you can not fire someone for personal reasons. Unless he appoligizes I’m not watching again. And Clint is just an awful awful person.

April 6, 2009 at 7:16 pm
(31) Lilly says:

I AM Appalled! I have been a fan of Apprentice for years, but NO MORE! I will NEVER watch Apprentice again. The firing of Khloe for a DUI was uncalled for & HYPOCRICY at its very definition. Where were Donald Trump’s principles while he capitalized on the ratings he was pulling in from exploiting Dennis Rodman’s public self destruction, which they allowed to go on for weeks? That situation alone was more than disturbing. This has just pushed me over the edge. Mr. Trump, it seems your principles only seem to show up if there is money or ratings to be made! I thought you might have had more integrity than this, but obviously not. You gave your pageant queen Tara Conner a second chance, but not Khloe? (Again, perhaps more money, investment at stake?) The week prior you talked about being sensitive to the issues people face with drugs & alcohol & how people need a 2nd chance, & then you turn around with all this self righteous “holier than thou” crap & fire Khloe. She has been very publically paying her dues regarding this DUI & could be a good person to help other young woman learn a lesson from. I am not in any way condoning or defending DRINKING & DRIVING, but I don’t think it was appropriate that Khloe was fired for having a DUI. I am also quite sure her DUI has come up on this show previously. It’s surprising to me that Mr. Trump had no knowledge of it prior to now or that he doesn’t have a team that keeps him completely informed about his celeb’s at all times. Yes…The show is over for me for good.

April 6, 2009 at 7:36 pm
(32) DanR says:

Donald Trump just proved himself to be a pompous, self-righteous ass. I already don’t watch Celeb Apprentice because it’s simply an exercise in self aggrandizement for someone who already has more glory than he deserves. He’s rich. Big Whup. He’s also filed bankruptcy in the past, and some of his casinos may well be on the verge of bankruptcty now. There are those that would consider a bankruptcy filing to be just as big a character flaw as a DUI where no injuries occurred. The article says Khloe has “been facing the consequences of the DUI since she was arrested in March 2007.” Conspicuously absent is whether she was even convicted or not. It seems odd that a DUI case would still be dragging on and not disposed of in two years. If she WAS convicted, how is she doing on her probation, or whatever other consequences the judge and/or jury imposed. If she HASN’T yet been convicted, then Trump has no business taking punitive action against someone who is innocent—until proven guilty. Trump also demonstrates an all-too- common bias that MADD, et al have sucked this country into. Bias, and hysteria. The “DUI Problem’ is an overblown, made-up crisis MADD has used for self promotion, much as Trump uses Celebrity Apprentice. MADD lies, the National Highway Traffic Administration turns out phony statistics, and lies, and Trump accepts it as Gospel. Not a sign of a thinking or inquisitive individual or one who is capable of thinking beyond a mass (or MADD) deception. ThE “War on Drunk Driving” is a fraud, promoted by frauds, and now embraced by one who has proven himself a sucker for a fraud.

(34) Kerry says:

Until you have lost a loved one to someone who carelessly, selfishly, and recklessly drinks and drives, don’t be so hard on The Donald. Khloe is young and a relative no-one. She should be taught this lesson now before she’s another 30 year old train wreck that our kids idolize. Yes, much is ratings. However, taking a stand for something you believe in is much better than just going along in life being a yes man. Yes, it’s ok Khloe, as long as you’ve learned your lesson. No. It’s not ok. What she did was wrong. Do you want your kids looking up to her? Maybe in a few years when there is new drama to take the place of her drama..but until then..no.

Firing Tiian..not so bright. However, The Donald makes a good point. Don’t hang yourself out to dry. If you want to succeed, play hard and dirty. It works in the real corporate world.

April 6, 2009 at 8:18 pm
(35) Cheri says:

I have been not only an Apprentice fan, but a DT fan for as long as I can remember. But not any more. I loved him for his arrogance, but last night, he crossed the line. Khloe, if you’re reading this, hang in there, love. I watch Keeping up… and found that you handled your situation with grace and dignity, just as you did on last night’s Apprentice. I can only imagine how difficult it might be to admit on national television your biggest mistake and to put yourself in the position where you know you’re going to be judged based on one bad decision.

Yes, we all know that driving while under the influence in a bad choice, and non of us would ever condone the behavior. I also think that most of us know that the legal limit was set so low that you’d have to be 14 years old and a first time drinker to really feel the effects. (I know I am going to catch hell for that one)

Anyhow, Khloe, you’re a sweet young woman, who has handled yourself with a maturity beyond your years. I hope you don’t let The Donald and his egotistical lecture get you down. You keep doing what you’re doing!

April 6, 2009 at 9:04 pm
(36) Tammy says:

Trump was way out of line! Trump, NBC and Mark Burnett all owe Khloe a very public and sincere apology. If Trump is so concerned about the public appearance and rep. of “his” show then he should be upset with the handlers and producers who suprising didn’t make him aware of Khloe’s problems with the law. Khloe is only in her 20s and young people do dumb things, (ask Tara Conner). But they are also held accountable for them and that is between Khloe and the justice system.

As far as the OJ Simpson thing, her father was a lawyer for OJ while he was on trial for murder. As her father defended him, her mother Kris Jenner sat on the side of the courtroom with the Browns and was a supporter of their’s. Whatever position either parent took, it has nothing to do with Khloe.

(37) mikeB says:

Trump is a ratings whore – no standards.

In one boardroom, Dennis actually said something along the lines “well, if I actually wanted to stay I’d fire…” If it was that deal or no deal chick saying that, she would have been fired instantly.

Whatever, at least he’s lost half of his money in the last year. Maybe he should fire himself.

April 6, 2009 at 10:17 pm
(38) CK says:

Trump needs to be careful here. There’s no place for the kind of viciousness he displayed this week. Last week’s awkward “intervention” exploited a man’s illness for TV ratings, while this week’s dismissals were arbitrarily punitive. He needs to be careful because he has no moral authority to preach the way he has been. This has made him come off as distasteful and hypocritical. He should keep his judgments to the performances on the show, or his ratings will disappear.

what an absolute loser this guy is to throw this in her face. This piece of garbage took a show that had some integrity and entertainment value and sunk it down to his level
Only an absolute idiot wouldnt realize that doing that to Khloe will anger so many viewers into not watching that show.
In his little world im sure hes rubbing his hands together all proud of himself that hes created such a buzz when in fact hes lit the fuse that will be the demise of his ego trip show.
I wont stand by and watch this walking arrogance spit on someone for sake of ratings
and im sure so many others feel the same.

Its funny to watch this guy so obviosly drool over Brande Roderick and make comments about how hot the body of the actress was in the video. It seems he might be praying for any reaction Brande might have to show some interest.
Trust me hes got that insecure trying to be the alfa guy around the hot chick going on.
hes just a boring guy with bad hair in need of attention. I will say one thing for him, he allowed us to see what hes really all about.
Good thing we know now
I was until yesterday a BIG fan of the show.
now if i watch i will be endorsing this loser.
an appology to the viewers might right this wrong but i doubt hes man enough. we will see.
I suggest everyone call or email the network as well as call or email sponsors and not purchase any products advertised by sponsors. Donald now that we all know what you are its time to be flushed.

Trump was a complete jerk lastnight. I don’t know how she kept her mouth shut. He has no right to cast stones. I’m sure there are things he has done that were “mistakes”. On a different note….WHY would a married man say on national tv that he wants a woman to walk around on the table half dressed?!?! and go on and on about her body!!!! Donald has issues for sure. I wonder what wifey had to say about that.

The only REAL issue with the Khloe firing was his LIE that we was unaware of the DUI. The producers could not missed such information unless they were MORONS unable to do their job; and if Trump allows the show to be cast without his personal say-so he would be an IDIOT, which we know he cannot be (right, Mr. Trump?) so he MUST be Lying… which is it, Mr. Trump, are you an IDIOT or are you LYING? It has to be one or the other… : )

(43) Michael says:

I am really disappointed with Donald Trump’s decision to use Celebrity Apprentice as a platform to politicize his views regarding drinking and driving, stigmatize those with DUI arrests, and effectuate termination decisions (yes, I realize it happened in TV-land!) based on personal values rather than job performance. I guess when you have your own TV show you can do whatever you want!

My unsolicited advice to Khloe Khardashian is to pursue reality TV wrongful termination litigation. Petition Judge Judy for time on her show so that you and the Donald can duke it out.

DT: You stated that, “I hate people that drive under the influence…I really do.” You went on to mention that drinking and driving causes “senseless deaths.” Here are some things that you might want to think about:

Each year about 400,000 “senseless” deaths occur in the United States as a result of cigarette smoking. Do you hate all of these folks too? In fact, each year more smoking related deaths occur than HIV, illegal drug use, alcohol use, motor vehicle injuries, suicides and murders…COMBINED. Though the loss of any human life is tragic the number of annual alcohol-related traffic deaths in the United States (approximately 13,000 in 2007) pales in comparison to the number of deaths attributed to tobacco product use.

Approximately 68% of traffic fatalities are not alcohol-related. In fact, speeding causes more deaths annually than drinking and driving. Similarly, lack of seat belt use accounts for more traffic deaths than drinking and driving. So, I’m guessing that you also hate people who speed and/or don’t wear seat belts?

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Association, 1.4 million people were arrested in the United States during 2007 for drinking and driving. Thankfully, sixty percent of the arrests did not involve injury to persons or property damage. Like prostitution, these were victimless crimes.

It’s erroneous to conclude that persons arrested for DUI have a drinking problem and/or are guilty of drunk driving. Most people believe this to be the case because they simply don’t know the law. You don’t have to be driving and you don’t have to be drunk to get arrested for DUI. Hard to believe, but true.

If you realize that you shouldn’t drive and opt to “sleep it off” in the back of your car instead, you can be arrested for DUI if you have a BAC at or above .08%. If you have access to your car keys and your BAC is at or above .08%, you can be arrested for DUI if you sit in, on or near your car while phoning a friend for a ride or waiting to be picked up. You can be arrested for DUI if you drive while taking prescription medication such as narcotics.

Whereas in the 1970’s the presumption of intoxication was .15%, today all fifty states have adopted a “per se” limit of .08% making DUI arrests easier to prosecute. Moreover, law enforcement officials are trained that “impairment begins with the first sip” so, the reality out on the road is that anyone can be arrested for DUI with any amount of alcohol in his/her system.

Finally, with regard to MADD, though originally well intentioned, they’ve drastically veered off of the road. If you spend some time doing some research, you’ll find that in 1999 the GAO invalidated findings that MADD continues to promote on their website. When pushing for the BAC limit to be lowered from .10% to .08% lawmakers expressed concern about impacting social drinkers. MADD countered with research that to reach a BAC of .08% a 170 lb. male would need to consume four beers in an hour and argued that this level of consumption was not reflective of social drinking.

MADD has used this argument for over a decade now to influence people who don’t know better to get them to buy into the fact that anyone with a BAC above .08% has an alcohol problem and it’s a disservice to the community they claim to serve. Here’s a question for MADD: if I have two drinks during a ninety-minute period at a social business meeting do I have a drinking problem? Most people would probably say “No.” But then, most people probably don’t realize that I tip my bartender extremely well, my drinks tend to be margaritas, and in the example that I gave above, I’d be arrested for DUI if I attempted to drive home at the end of the meeting.

Trump is a C%$T. Khloe is respectable, responsible and beautiful. Clint was an idiot, and Khloe fired for nothing to do with the task at hand at all. I will no longer be watching apprentice USA. Idiot.

(45) mcl26022 says:

I am DONE with celebrity apprentice. Don Trump is a PERFECT human being…… amazing he does not claim to be GOD. Does he live in a bubble… Chloe has been open about her DUI from day one in 2007. If Trump’s staff can’t do their homework to find that out this type of information…….. then Trump should be fired himself for such poor management skills.
Trump, be truthful… your looking for ratings….. and you just stepped over the line. One less viewer as to today.

(46) V.V. says:

I cannont believe Donald Trump would have acted so unprofessional and stoop so low as to use Khole’s personal matter as an excuse to fire her. It seems like an easy way out of not firing Clint who acted like an idiot thinking his video would make anyone buy laundry detergent. I cannot believe it. Khole acted like a class act and just made me become a bigger fan of hers. Donald Trump should retire, because he is losing it.

(47) Dean says:

THe amezing thing is, Trumps incredibly self-rightious and boorish treatment of Khloe overshadowed the fact that Trump has just put perhaps the sleaziest pre-9:00pm show on the air. Ever station that aired Clint Black’s video deserves a fine – I felt dirty watching it with my family.

Trump’s brand is one of sleazy elegance, his morals self-rightious and complety based on the person’s immediate worth to him at the moment (as he demostrated by reviewing Black’s and the golfer’s immediate opportunity costs before doing this to Khloe).

Let Trump be a role model to her of the dark side of celebrity, let Trump be an example of who she never wants to become, someone who relishes putting others down.

April 7, 2009 at 11:44 am
(48) Rusty says:

That was out of line and had nothing to do with the show. I think he will loose major ratings on that one.

April 7, 2009 at 3:23 pm
(49) John Dowling says:

“The Apprentice” loses credibility whenever Trump fires a contestant for arbitrary reasons outside of the framework of the game. His grandstanding was self-righteous and hollow. Kardashian did something wrong and she’s following her sentence. If Trump didn’t think she was fit for his show he should have done his homework.

On a side note, his over-eager ogling of the model/actress in KOTU’s video was just another in a series of crass illustrations of his own poor taste. The fact that he’s comfortable being such an ogre in front of his children only underlines his sleaziness.

Trump is a fraud and a buffoon.

(52) stellagal says:

I agree wholeheartedly with the person who called Trump a buffoon. A truer word was never spoken. How in the Sam Hill can he fired Khloe for a dui when he gave his drugging, drinking Miss USA the second chance. And firing Tionne made even less sense. Of course she doesn’t remember Bradley. I am sure she had better things to do than watch the Apprentice.

April 7, 2009 at 8:39 pm
(53) Sillverfootinmouth says:

I was shocked when he fired Tionne but astonished when he fired Khloe for a mistake she made in real life. Clint was the rational choice for firing.

“The Donald” must have been drunk when he made this decision.

I will not watch this show anymore.

(54) croatian guy says:

I can’t believe that none of you get the principles of this kind of shows.. or lack of it! It’s all about the RATINGS!!! And what brings ratings..why, it’s fights, confrontations and drama.
People that are creating drama will 99% of the time never get fired. That’s why the kept Rodman for so long in the game. I’ll be very clear:

Tionne was fired because she was in no conflict ever with anyone on her team. It wasn’t about her being fired. It was more about keeping the other two because their masked hostility towards each other which will make good tv the next week.

It was also clear that Trump will never fire Clint. Not now when Joan totally exploded on him. Think of it like this. If he stays on the same team with Joan R. after this fight, trump knows that there will be blood next task.. and great TV btw. Of course that one of the women would get fired over Clint. They both didn’t create conflicts and are nice to Joan which makes for boring upcoming weeks. Even when Clint says that he takes full responsibility for failing the task. But Trump needs him and Joan to fight more and create good ratings/TV. That’s why Trump says that he respects Clint’s taking responsibility. Anybody else would hawe been fired for saying the same thing.
Please people, just try looking at it from ratings standpoint… it becomes so much clear! It’s all about the DRAMA which brings good ratings! We all watch it for the fights and not the business. Remember, TRUMP WILL ALWAYS TRY TO KEEP PEOPLE THAT ENGAGE IN FIGHTS BECAUSE THEY DRIVE THE SHOW’S RATINGS! You all know that after this last task there will be some serious bad blood between Joan and Clint. You all want to see it..so it will give them better ratings next week.. and did I mention that RATINGS drive every show on TV!!! Wake up and smell the coffee, people!
PEACE

(56) Robert says:

You people talking about the integrity of the game in terms of rational reasons for firing people just don’t get it. What is rational about a show with celebrities pretending to work? These people on the show are all in it for the paycheck and publicity. The only reason they have the charity part is because the whole premise of the show doesn’t work without some sort of prize. That $20,000 is laughable considering how much Trump and the celebrities are getting paid.

April 8, 2009 at 12:19 pm
(57) Sara says:

Trump is all about ratings and hypocrisy. Sure he could keep Rodman with his on-the-job erratic behavior and alcohol problem, but Khloe has to be fired for being honest and responsible after something that happened long before the job. What about Rodman’s assault on Carmen Electra, while we’re at it. You’ve got to be kidding! Trump needs to quit firing celebrities and start firing hairstylists.

(58) Dave says:

Donald Trumph never should have fired that Girl on the apprentice because she was a good person but its not a good thing she did that DUI. Trump never should have embarrassed her On TV because Of a DUI I think she has learned her lesion about what she has done about the DUI. Trumph never should have fired her because a DUI i was very up set about what he did to her he fired her because he knew people have been in car accidents about DUI. He should be Punished for what he dont to her because of her DUI and now the hole world has seen what see has done BY Trumph. I hope she can get a job after what he don. He should BE Fined about what he did!!!!!!!! He has no feeling for any body or their life!!!!!

Trump you are fired! You are worthless in my eyes for firing Chloe as she was repaying her debt to society. I will spread the word about your useless cheating, company bankrupting self. I hope our American society makes your show fall off the planet!

(60) Barbara says:

Why did he allow Dennis Rodman on the show when he had had a DUI also? He should just Goggled everyone himself instead of having having his assistants do it for him! If you’re the “Boss” don’t phone it in!

(61) axthetrump says:

Glad to know I was not alone in my anger last Sunday. Truly disappointed in the firings. Can’t for the life of me understand why Clint Black was not fired … he’s not that big anymore. Didn’t he just do another reality show, or am I mistaken? As for Melissa Rivers.. she had a golden parachute. Didn’t anyone else notice the Joan and Melissa videos for the very same detergent sponsor that they were assigned to create a viral video for? Yes, ALL. I went to their website to complain about their sponsorship on the Apprentice and as big as Dallas…. they have online videos. Trump really showed NO class Sunday. His morals are colored green, for money and ratings. Can’t do much about the money, but by not watching or buying products that advertise, guess I can make a small dent in the ratings area. At least I’ll feel better.

(62) gman says:

Getting angry at Mr. Trump for his decisions shows lack of maturity and understanding of the real world. The fact is, the boss will always make decisions that you don’t like, and probably disagree with. Get over it. He’s the boss.

Mr. Trump made the right decision. Tionne is very intelligent and knew that returning to the board room put her on the chopping block. Whether she felt there were weaker links, or wanted to look like a team player — she intentionally put herself in jeopardy; you don’t do that in the business world. Since this is just business – although I liked her a lot – I agree with the choice.

Khloe made a mistake and got a DUI. She was fortunate that she did not have an accident. Our society condones DUI in spite of the thousands of lives lost to it annually. There is no doubt that she learned from it and accepted responsibility for her actions. But as she said, It is what it is.

DUI requires a judgment call regarding your limitations on alcohol and whether or not to drive in your condition. In this case, she made a poor decision. Poor decisions have consequences. When a mother loses her child to a DUI, we are less eager to accept the declaration that the culprit has accepted responsibility and learned from the incident. That won’t bring the child back!

As I said, Khloe made a poor decision and exhibited poor leadership when she got a DUI. The apprentice is about finding the best leader, not training one. Mr. Trump made the right decision firing her as well, because she was the weaker link. I have also a new found respect for Mr. Trump. He sent a message that you cannot always tie one on, go to jail, and return to work on Monday. Eventually, it will catch up to you. Of course, I expected it to catch up to Dennis a lot sooner than it did.

(63) Randy says:

Donald could not repeat enough times on the first episode when he told the two groups to pick a Project Manager that often the PM is the one that gets fired. He seemed to relish firing the person most responsible for poor performance at the time. On Sunday’s firing of two seemingly small players Donald showed a lack of strong business acumen. Melissa and Clint were the PMs and ultimately responsible for the poor decisions leading to the bad videos.

Part of the problem is that larger than life celebrity egos that can’t be lead any more are not forced to make reality checks but coddled by the Donald and so many others. I am disappointed that Donald feels that the big egos are so important. If Clint and Melissa had been fired the others would have filled in any void that may have been left and the show would still be interesting maybe even more so to see someone like Tionne or Chloe win without needing to show an autocratic mentality. I don’t think that you can’t be have to be the type to always be ready to cut you enemies off at the knees to be a winner in life or business.

I’m disappointed with the Donald but I will probably continue watching at least for a while longer. I really liked the last season although I think Omarosa stayed around too long. One last comment: I don’t understand Clint’s decision not to bring Joan to the boardroom. She was somewhat disrespectful to Clint’s authority as PM. If the other players are not doing what the PM asks then they are culpable. Of course if that team then fails then the PM should go down. Not of the celebrities seem to understand that strategy very much and that is somewhat frustrating as a viewer to see so much backbiting when there is a good strategy available to them. I think the celebrity contestants should be careful about volunteering for the PM role because unless there is big problems with one of the other members on the team then the default firing should be the PM unless there is compelling reason otherwise.

(64) Mike says:

Donald Trump after firing Kloe showed America what a gutless, ignorant low life he is. If driving drunk was his criteria for firing people why didn’t he have the guts to fire Rodny. If he had any balls he would bring her back and apologize in public. If not I will puke everytime I see one of his properties. What an excuse for a man.

Wow, I agree with the masses, DT is a hypocrite. There was an article on TV shows that are facing cancellation next year and Celebrity Apprentice is one of them. Might as well pull the plug now as I am not watching this rubbish anymore. Khloe you are a class act.

(66) Holly says:

Before the celebrity’s are chosen as cast members of the show, it seems like the executive producer would already know basic background information about who he is hosting. Bottom line. This was Trump acting on emotion and haste, because of a personal reason. I think that he will look back and wish that his decision was based more on performance and not on personal feelings.

I started to watch tonights show but couldn’t stomach it. Last week it became less about talent and teamwork and more Donald Trump plays Big Shot. Dear Lord when did a cheating, homewreaking, back stabbing jerk become the moralty police. What a Jerk! and if he really didn’t know about the DUI he is a very ill informed out of touch with the real world Jerk as is his entire staff!

I think Trump has a hell of a nerve judging Khloe!! While I think was she did was inexcusable, she was given a punishment by the courts. Who does Trump think he is making judgements on her?? Does he is above the law where unlawful termination is involved? It makes me sick!!

(69) Mickey says:

I have never disliked Donald Trump until now. I remember the scandalous stories about his divorces, bankruptcies, Rosie O’ donnel, Martha and Tara Conner. I could care less, however firing kloe over her DUI that she is paying the price for and had nothing to do with the show changed all that for me. He has lost all creditability. In my opinion the only people who don’t deserve a second chance are child rapist and murderers and of course now DONALD TRUMP!

(70) Lalee says:

Khloe is beautiful, and I love the way she handled being fired. Donald Trump was too harsh, I think its wrong for him to bring up her personal life and fire her for that. Something like that wouldn’t happen in the real working world, and someone could get in trouble for firing an employee because of their personal circumstances. Khloe obviously learned her lesson, she’s young, everyone makes mistakes, as long as they aren’t repeated those mistakes make you a stronger person. And if you read this Khloe, just know that your fans support you and I personally think youre the most beautiful of your sisters and that you have a great personality.

(74) apprentice addicted says:

Why in the world did The Donald leave Dennis Rodman on for so long? I was thoroughly disgusted with Dennis and his behavior. He should have been fired long ago. He is much worse than Chloe. Trump did say that if he knew about the DUI, he would have never let Chloe be on the show.If that was a one-time offense for her then he had no right to fire her for personal things in her life. I do admire him for standing up against drinking and driving. Maybe people will wake up and realize the danger of mixing the two.

April 15, 2009 at 4:47 pm
(75) Marv says:

Donald Trump went from having somewhat respect to no respect at all after firing Khloe. He should leave it to God to make a decision on Khloe’s past. I feel he is unfair and rude. Khloe was one of my favorite contestants on the show and now I feel it is a waste of time to watch the show now.

(76) christine says:

Dear Mr. Trump,
You may think that you made the right’ moral’ decision, but I think it was not the right business/ethical decision. Let he who is without…
You let your own personal feelings cloud your judgement. Khloe made one mistake and is paying for it. You had no right to publicly condemn her. Do you do that in your own boardroom?

April 19, 2009 at 6:46 pm
(77) Bob C. says:

Given his multiple bankruptcy filings and marriage turnstile, I’d think Trump would realize he’s not the best person to be making moral and ethical assessments of others.

What an arrogant, hypocritical blow-hole. Good luck with your show, DT, I won’t be watching any more.

(78) Ann Marie Butler says:

I have been a fan of “The Apprentice” from day 1. There have been decisions made that I have not agreed with along the way but none as much as the firing of Khloe Kardasian. I have come to see that it’s all about the ratings, no surprise there, I guess. For at least 2 episodes now, it seems it was easy for “The Donald” to overlook Dennis Rodman’s obvious and persistent problem. Still he was popular so it was easy to look the other way to draw in the viewers. I get that. To then turn on a lesser known “celebrity”, however, and fire her for trying to “right” her “wrong” in favor of the better known Clint Black, who was clearly not up to the, or ANY task, was totally unfair, totally personal, and had NOTHING, I repeat, NOTHING to do with the task at hand. This show was a total disappointment. Donald was a total disappointment and he owes more to his viewers than using this show as a platform for what has nothing to do with the task at hand. Isn’t that what this show is supposed to be about? Ann Marie
