Joan Rivers Wins Celebrity Apprentice--Did She Deserve To Win?

Monday May 11, 2009
A recap of the Celebrity Apprentice finale in 30 seconds: Comedian Joan Rivers competed against Poker Player Annie Duke, who Joan has called white trash and compared to Hitler on different occasions. Annie went into the final challenge to crush the 75-year-old comedian and win the reality show turned celebrity circus.

After plenty of drama that you can read about here, Both Joan and Annie pulled off decent fundraising events for the final challenge.  But in the end Joan raised $150,000 for her charity while Annie raised $465,000.

Annie's impressive total wasn't enough to win the title though.  Trump told the poker player she was fired and named his friend Joan Rivers the new Celebrity Apprentice! It was clear from the look on Annie's face that she didn't see it coming.

I can't wait to hear what you think about these  results.

Were you shocked by Joan's win or did you see it coming? Why do you think Joan won and Annie lost? Did Joan deserve to win this one or did Annie do a better job? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!

(1) Ryan says:

Annie essentially won the game but Trump made a simple statement: It’s not who wins or loses, it’s HOW you play the game. Everyone was alienated by Annie’s A-type tactics while Joan turned on the charm.

Funny thing is, Joan’s just as manipulative and nasty and aggressive as Annie. She just had the better act!

(2) bill says:

Trump is a joke, he let Rivers and her brat daughter run the show. He fires anyone else who quits. Joan has no friends, her money total way a joke and shows that she can not get support. Joan and her daughter are trash and bullying everyone on the show including the Donald shows why she could not raise any money.

(3) A. Barber says:

Babalooie predicts: Nude photos of Joan will surface, causing the crown to go to Annie.

(4) Denise says:

Yes, Joan got nasty about Annie. So what? Annie Duke is a dictator. She never listens to anyone. Joan is a team player. Annie is two faced. She said so many vile things out of the boardroom…Joan had the guts to say them to her face. Annie is an ego maniac. No one is as smart as her. At the end of the designing of the room, Joan stops and thanks everyone involved. Annie screams: o.k. if you aren’t coming to the party get out of the room. This is the difference in the two women. Annie is a tool pusher and people are tools….Joan is real and gracious to those that matter. She had the patience of Jobe with Clint Black who should have just stayed home! Go Joan! Also, Annie Duke bragged she had four kids and could cook and give a great BJ….her kids must be so proud…..

Great job Joan!!!!

I guess Donald could see thru the phony
Annie Duke!

(6) kim says:

How did a man with as little class as Donald Trump get where hi is today?
First his immature rants at Rosie O’Donnell and now his blatant favoritism on Celebrity Apprentice. His behavior in cutting off people whom he does not like reminds me of Nancy Grace. If you are not prepared to be impartial, you should remove yourself from judging people.
I’m sorry to say that what little respect I had for Trump has flown out the window. Money does not buy class.

(7) Alan says:

Both Joan and Annie are two of the biggest bitches that have ever existed. Annie is suchh a braggart, so conceited, completely narcissistic and should be embarrassed by her frequent rants throughout the the season but, I’m guessing that she is not and that’s why she is such a narcissist.

Joan is just a bitch. We saw a complete other side of the public persona that she has displayed throughout her career. She and her daughter were so laughable throughout their entire time on the show. They too should be embarrased. They sounded like a couple of 15 year old valley girls. Completely immature and embarrassing.

Neither of these two should have gotten this far (Donald Trump even alluded to this at the start of last night’s program just before introducing some of the fired contestants when he said he is not sure that they all should have gone when they did) but it was very obvious from the get go that Donald had a real thing for Joan. Despite being so childish (Doanld never stands for that in others) and berating, Donald kept letting her go and saving her even when she should have been fired.

C’mon folks!!! Joan Rivers “The Celebrity Apprentice”

Give me a break!!!

(8) H R McClellan says:

Donald Trump wanted Joan to win from day 1. He would never hire anyone who was as insulting, rude, or nasty as was Joan Rivers.
Joan quit when Melissa was fired. He never would allow anyone to quit and return with no consequences. Melissa had a meltdown when she was fired and Trump allowed her to deny, deny, deny.
Annie was cool in the face of adversity and never struck out blindly in the boardroom. She got upset in private and planned a tactical way to fight that adversity. Trump would never want anyone in his employ that would loose her cool the way Joan Rivers did. I hope Joan’s comments about poker players comes back to haunt her in Vegas or anywhere else she would appear.

May 11, 2009 at 11:27 am
(9) janie says:

I agree with those of you that say Joan was rude, last night was the only night I watched however I was told about the fit that Melissa Rivers threw. I watched the finale and wasn’t really surprised by Joan Rivers antics I think she is a legend in her own mind. This and other actions she takes keeps me from buying her high priced costume jewelry and anything else she represents even if the product was good. It seems that maybe she was a decided winner long before last night. I can’t believe no one came to Annie’s defense when it plainly showed on tv that Joan indeed had made the planners quit because she was so rude. I won’t ever buy anything she trys to sell and I don’t beleive she is worthy of the title.

May 11, 2009 at 12:29 pm
(10) Patsy says:

How come the rest of us could see Joan talking so rudely to the decorator and the decorator telling her that he was quitting but she denied that it ever happened and called Annie a liar!
It was obvious from the beginning that Trump was leaning towards Joan. Piers said that he didn’t want her a few shows back. Then, she quit and still got to come back. It should be titled the Trump/Rivers show.
Annie may have a type A personality but she also is an educated, smart, high producing card player with lots of loyal friends.
And Joan correcting her and calling her “darling” made me ill.
Melissa is a Joan wantabee and needs to get a life.If she learned “whore pit viper” at her mother’s knee, she learned well.
I think Joan had the rest of the celebs like Denis Rodman, Clint and Scott afraid of her acid tongue
She was fired by Carson and ostracized by Hollywood and has had to reinvent herself as many times as she has had her face lifted.

May 11, 2009 at 12:33 pm
(11) Maisey says:

Very glad Annie lost but I think last night showed that Herschel Walker should have been the winner all along.

He was brilliant!

May 11, 2009 at 12:34 pm
(12) caroline says:

To me it was no contest. Joan was immature, unprofessional and rude. She was constantly name calling, interupting and Donald allowed this. Joan was obviously favored. No one should accept or allow that kind of behavior in their business. But I think it came down to a personality contest, and clearly Donald liked Joan (God Knows why). Annie won fair and square. Why in the last show did money not matter as much and celebrity appearances did? He was setting the stage for Joan to win! Annie is the real winner, I think Donald was threatened by her!!!!

May 11, 2009 at 12:36 pm
(13) Winona says:

I was shocked that he hired Joan instead of Annie. Joan’s attitude, along with Melissa’s was deplorable the whole show and yes, Mr. Trump, allowed both Joan and Melissa to run the whole show. I was amazed at how horrible the two of them were!

May 11, 2009 at 12:49 pm
(14) royal flush with a joker! says:

Ratings-Ratings-Ratings folks, they were both guilty of being rough, they were both guilty of mouthing off, it isn’t the real world where Trump is hiring someone to run one of his casinos or golf courses etc., it is a reality tv which actually benefits others in need. All of the “cast members” took their personal time to help others. They are all winners…..ALL OF THEM.

May 11, 2009 at 12:50 pm
(15) Andrea says:

What a waste of 3 hours! I am ashamed of Donald Trump being so obvious and making excuses for Joan’s behavior constantly! Shame on Joan, shame on Melissa! The first step toward growing is to admit one’s mistakes, Melissa, you SHOULD be ashamed of yourself. This was a fix if I ever saw one. I did not like Joan Rivers before because she is so rude and says such nasty things about everyone – red carpet? Please! I will not watch the next season of Celebrity Apprentice….Donald, you are fired!

May 11, 2009 at 12:56 pm
(16) Jon says:

I used to like Joan Rivers before watching this show. She showed that she is a hate-spewing egomaniac, and her daughter is cut from the same cloth.

I now realize that Joan isn’t some kind of icon, she’s just a washed up comedian who hawks cheap jewelry on QVC.

Trump played Annie all the way and used her to keep his mundane show interesting.

Both Joan and he daughter showed us what real Nazi’s are like!

May 11, 2009 at 12:57 pm
(17) steve says:

Trump…you totally blew it…I was a fan of the show until last night, JOAN RIVERS??? Duke was so much better a player. I hope they boo her off the stage in Vegas.

May 11, 2009 at 12:59 pm
(18) Teri says:

If Joan Rivers can win celebrity apprentice, I think NBC is going to be in its final season of this show come 2010. Think of the title word “Apprentice”, Annie Duke at her age and with her limited experience? Look at what she pulled off. She has way more potential than that aging, ranting, nasal nag. Geesh, Donald Trump…

May 11, 2009 at 12:59 pm
(19) Debby says:

Okay….get it right people. Joan Rivers didn’t quit when her daughter got fired. She just left the premises because she was upset at the time for her daughter. So what! Joan never said that she was quitting! And Trump only lets people go when they actually announce that they are quitting in the boardroom. Joan didn’t do that.

Joan deserved to win!. Hands down. Both women no doubt displayed a lot of intelligence on the show to make it as far as they did, although they both played the game differently and yes true colors came out from both sides of the fence as both got nasty…Isn’t that what the game is about?

Although the difference is Annie is a back stabbing, untrustworthy, two faced bitch, that crosses the line and does nothing by try to convince her innocence by repeating over and over how she always conducted herself professionally in the boardroom, but continued to back stab and behave like a high school teenager trying to spread gossip to others and persuade them to take her side outside the boardroom.

Annie is a bossy, ungrateful, demanding little beouch with an ego much bigger than she is capable of honouring and does nothing but try to take all the credit for her wins as it’s all about HER and HER expressions of “I did this” and “I did that” and “I’m so proud of myself because I I I I I”….Whatever Annie! Remember it’s about team work!? Her conduct was enough to make the viewers puke and vote for anyone but her.

Joan displayed immense charisma, energy and intelligence along the way, but a great deal of passion for her charity, something Annie did not show at all, as again, it was all about her her her. The only time Annie actually demonstrated some human compassion on the show was when she out beat Clint on the task of writing and recording a jiggle for a commercial. Then when Trump asked Annie why she was getting so emotional, Annie’s response “I’m just so proud of myself for winning this task because I never wrote a jiggle before and I actually beat Clint who’s a song writer.” For heavens sake Annie, what about being happy you won the task because you just raised more money for your charity? Again, it’s all about Annie. I I I I

All I can say is, way to go Joan!!! There are a lot more people in your corner and glad that you won! Congrats!

May 11, 2009 at 1:23 pm
(20) Gina says:

First of all, it’s just a game, and a tv show to watch for entertainment, not to take so seriously. If you disagree, feel free not to watch anymore but not sure why then it’s necessary to announce that. Furthermore, the show is really about charity. Joan crossed certain lines and so did Annie, but in the final task Joan focused on the charity while Annie was simply focused on wanting to beat Joan. I liked Joan’s charity better. Even if Annie had won, I’d be happy for the charity. I certainly didn’t want Piers to win over Trace last season, but was happy for the charity. Agree or disagree, like or dislike, life’s too short not to see the good in this!

(21) mg says:

When Joan said that Annie was beneath her I started to laugh, has any one ever seen her act? What comes out of this old ladys mouth is nothing but filth,if that is what a lady does, then I must be a goddess.Annie you definetly have more class than Joan, mellissa, and especially Donald Trump!Money cannot by class ,respect ,or dignity.Annie had it all!

May 11, 2009 at 1:48 pm
(22) benseth39 says:

That finale was laughable. Joan Rivers is nothing but a loud-mouth, self-absorbed bitch and her D-List daughter is a complete joke of a woman. What a disappointment. As far as I’m concerned, Annie is the true winner.

May 11, 2009 at 1:53 pm
(23) SCUMFROG says:

The show is now officially a joke and I am done watching. Crowning Joan Rivers was the last straw. She did nothing the entire series to deserve to win.

May 11, 2009 at 2:18 pm
(24) cpatti says:

The fix was on as soon as it was announced that, Donald Trump’s very close friend, Joan Rivers was a contestant(?). Never watch again!

May 11, 2009 at 2:44 pm
(25) Vi says:

Joan deserved to win. She was more of a team player. Annie was a dictator. Annie was out for herself, and as a poker player this is what she is use to, but it does not serve well in all aspects of life. They played the game of manipulation, but Joan did it with a little more class. Annie made reference to herself as “this girl”, Joan corrected her and said you are a “woman”. I would have said “you are a woman, but not a lady”.

May 11, 2009 at 3:40 pm
(26) Lesli says:

I am happy!! I am happy!! I am happy…
I never liked Annie from the get go…she was the most nasty person I have ever seen..
Donald should have another reality show and title it..”how nasty can humans get”
maybe Annie or Amorosa can pull each other’s hair out…
I am so glad Joan won…she had the most class throughtout the whole show…!!
Go Donald…..!(you can call me now…I forgive you!)

May 11, 2009 at 4:01 pm
(27) Leon says:

What a disgrace!! Annie was better in every way. How did Joan win the celebrity portion of the final task when all she had was Kathy and look-a-likes???? Annie clobbered Joan in fundraising both times they faced off. Joan seems to have won because she had energy?? What the hell does that mean? Why does everyone say Annie was backstabbing?? because Joan and her pathetic daughter said so?? Can someone give me an example where Annie backstabbed someone. Sorry Donald I loved that Piers won, I think he was the best that year but Annie was way above Joan this year. When your best idea is cluck cluck splash, you shouldn’t be calling yourself a comedian, let alone winning a celebrity competition.

May 11, 2009 at 4:05 pm
(28) jimbo says:

It wasn’t about who was better at buisness or raising money.

DONALD TRUMP FEARED JOAN RIVERS!
Joan carries more clout in the media world than Annie.
Joan could have shot Annie, and she would have still won.

May 11, 2009 at 4:27 pm
(29) Linda says:

Hey Donald, afraid of Joan, are you? Annie deserved to win. Joan with her forked tongue and that spoiled brat daughter of hers, geez what a combination! Won’t be watching the apprentice or buying any old lady jewelry anytime soon.

May 11, 2009 at 5:15 pm
(30) Doc says:

Trumps sister-in-law is on the board of directors for Rivers charity and the producer of C A will also produce Rivers upcoming show. Things that make you go hmmmmm.

May 11, 2009 at 5:22 pm
(31) S Foster says:

I still can’t figure out how Joan was even considered as the potential winner. To me Annie hit a Grand Slam and Joan was awful and disrespectful and excelled in spite of Joan’s issues. If Joan had been an no name and this had not been the “Celebrity” edition of the program she would have been chewed up and spit out by Trump. This is the last time I will watch this show.

May 11, 2009 at 6:26 pm
(32) Keving says:

Annie was tough, professional, and got incredible results. It is a real shame that anyone who gets to Joan River’s age would be so vile, hateful, and a total liar. Whatever I thought of Joan Rivers before, I have no respect for her now. Donald, you’re the one that embarrassed yourself on this one.

May 11, 2009 at 7:04 pm
(33) OhMyGoddess says:

First let me say that this finale show did NOT need to be 3 hours long. It was like being in labor waiting for the ending. That said, I like Joan Rivers and had never even heard of Annie Duke before this show. Both brought different skill sets to the game. However, Annie acted like a child. If the words “I”, “me”, or “my” were removed from the English language, she wouldn’t have thing to say. She spent most of the episode telling her team members how much Joan disrespected her their absence or letting everyone who would listen know that the designer quit because of Joan. David Turturo quit because he’s a drama queen who didn’t want to listen to his client. However, it was really unprofessional for him to leave Annie hanging without being “man” enough to tell her why. Even if he couldn’t work with Joan, what did that have to do with Annie? I think he figured out that neither he or his assistant could deliver for either contestant. Throughout the show, Annie alternated from beating her chest over her omnipotence or whining about Joan. She even bored her own team members with her constant bitching. During the final task, not once did Joan River say anything negative about Annie – she remained focused on winning. Her party was more exciting and innovative. The impersonators were great and she brought in celebrities who were instantly recognized. Meanwhile, Annie was living in a bubble of “faux-celebrities”, with guest poker players who no one knows outside of Las Vegas casinos! On this show, Annie was out of her league. Joan Rivers, in her 75 years, has done everything whereas Annie has only excelled in POKER! Donald Trump made the right decision because Joan is timeless. No one will remember the spiteful, hateful, conniving, and unprofessional Annie Duke after last night. Her face will soon be forgotten – BOTH of them!

May 11, 2009 at 7:11 pm
(34) Sassy says:

The only reason Joan Rivers won is because Donald’s soon-to-be ex-sister-in-law is a Vice Chair for Joan’s charity!!

May 11, 2009 at 7:23 pm
(35) JuJu says:

It was obvious who the winner would be when Trump brought back their “helpers”. Annie could never have chosen Melissa and therefore got stuck with the dysfunctional Rodman & Green. Trump brought back Rivers’s three favorite people to seal Annie’s fate.
Jokers Wild!

(36) bonnie says:

I have no respect for joan and her immature daughter. after this show i don’t know how they can hold their heads up in public. how donald could call joan a role model has left me speechless. what are donald’s values that he could say this about joan after her slanderous attacks on annie and brandie, but then again donald has shown himself as a person who likes to spend time in the gutter also with his low class rants against rosie o’donnell. what’s the matter with these ego maniacs. Their legends in their own minds. donald sold out and robbed annie of the title. i will not watch the apprentice again. shame on you donald for not doing the right thing!

ANNIE WAS ROBBED-THE FIX WAS IN-I JUST FEEL SO BAD FOR ANNIE WHO REALLY THOUGHT THE GAME WAS FOR REAL-AND DONALD, JOAN, MARK BURNETTE ALREADY FIXED THE GAME–ANNIE IS MY HERO SHE IS ONE SMART COOKE-JOAN & MELISSA ARE VILE-DEAR GOD-NO WONDER EDGAR KILLED HIMSELF!!

May 11, 2009 at 10:13 pm
(38) Barbara Holoboff says:

I was totally disgusted by the result. It was NOT a competition for the best Apprentice, but a popularity contest. Trump has run too many beauty pagents and got mixed up! Ann totally topped Joan Rivers and fulfilled the aim of the contest. Joan was the “old favourite”.

May 11, 2009 at 10:26 pm
(39) shar says:

Rivers and daughter are tacky flakes. Annie wasn’t perfect but she didn’t deserve to be attacked with Joans cruel insults. Trump’s relative on the board of River’s charity pretty much explains it all. I hope Rivers career is over and she dies a unrespected old lonely tacky creepy-faced b–tch with no one there but her uggo daughter. There’s no way I can find her “humor” funny after seeing her true colors. I hope Trump’s arrogance causes him to lose his fortune and he has to call the charity for a meal delivery. Losers.

May 11, 2009 at 10:40 pm
(40) Newton says:

The only way that Trump would have put up with such an obnoxious person as Joan Rivers and her spoiled daughter, is if the plan was for Joan to win all along. With her ego, she likely would not have done the show without a gaurantee. I was not aware that Joan Rivers and her snotty daughter were “royalty”. I could not believe that Joan was such an insufferable bitch to many people and then denied it, when it was captured on camera. Joan and Melissa, are rude, spoiled, and bullied whomever to get their way. It’s obviously easier to give in to them, than to fight them. Who the hell does she think she is. She thinks poker players are lepers…she’s a washed up comediene that now hawks jewellery on tv for god sake…Kardashian got fired for once getting a dwi…after paying her debt and Joan was allowed to railroad everyone with her big mouth and bigger ego….Annie deserved to win.

May 12, 2009 at 1:03 am
(41) Justin says:

DONALD TRUMP IS A JOKE!!!! This whole show just pissed me and everyone I know off. How can a women who acts like a complete cry baby win apprentice? So its ok to call people hitler and white trash and quiet your job. I’ll have to try that at work and see what happens, Oh wait, I would be fired. Trump is the lowest thing from a boss he is a disgrace and lost a lot of viewers. One more tidbit. Who is more famous Annie or Joan? Joan is more famous. Who was able to raise more money? Annie by 4x the amount Joan raised.

(42) dropper says:

Trump is an idiot, Joan is a vile, wicked, hate-filled beast, and Melissa.. shouldn’t she have been destroyed after breaking her leg? Annie.. I really feel for you, and I hope you understand that every intelligent, honest viewer out there sees the truth of what happened…you deserved better.

(43) jim lumley says:

Joan Rivers and daughter are white trash, I saw Joan Rivers on British TV, her filthy foul mouth, every curse word in the book came from her reconstructed mouth, she can make a construction worker blush, her buddy Donald Trump (he is not God) more “Trump the chump”. Remember money does not make you a nice person. It was a set up for Joan to win Trumps show.

May 12, 2009 at 9:49 am
(44) Anster says:

I had the show taped and made sure I didn’t see or hear any news media so I’d have an unbiased review. WHAT???? Joan stinkin’ Rivers? Annie beat her by a million miles! No contest! If money wasn’t the determining factor, then Piers and prior apprentices would not be the winners either. I will never watch The Celebrity Apprentice again.

The Gruesome Twosome got their karma back in bad face lifts. The funny thing is, what’s the chances that they would look THAT similar?

Annie looked disappointed, and she should, Trump just screwed her! After watching all season, and I almost quit watching after what he did to Ms. Kardashian. No other reason then you had a DUI. Donald the cheating b…..d, what nerve.

The show officially stinks! Great job Annie!

(45) Anthony says:

I remember the 1st show – the minute I saw Joan Rivers was a player, I knew the winner. What else is new, everything these days is usually fixed. But I loved Trump and the the silver spoons entrance in the last show with the regal music playing. What a pompous ass

May 12, 2009 at 12:33 pm
(46) Dan Dyer says:

I feel bad for Annie. She played the game great. She obviously won. The one thing that upsets me most is how it ended for her. Donald usually finished a game by saying to the winner; “Whomever, you are hired.” In this case he made his comments to Joan, then his comments to Annie, and then looked her in the eye and said, “Annie you are fired.” I feel he set her up in a mean-spirited way. She new how it goes down, and she was just waiting for him to say she had won. I feel he relished the opportunity to set it up and say, “Annie, you’re fired.” Donald, Joan, Melissa — poor excuses for human beings.

May 12, 2009 at 12:49 pm
(47) Sheila Ann says:

It’s great Joan won. Her charity needed the money. She put on the better show. And her decorations were better. A Poker player raising money is great and easier than most folks. Besides, she (Annie) raised more money than she would have gotten as apprentice. Glad that Dennis redeemed himself. Way to go Dennis.

(51) tomek says:

I can understand why some women strongly dislike Annie Duke. She is smart, eloquent, classy and easy on the eye. The two Rivers brats could not stand her because Annie was a constant remainder of what qualities they themselves lacked. Annie was the best player by far and should have won. Shame on NBC for having gone along with this scam.

(52) bigbird60 says:

I was very pleased that Joan won. I think Annie Duke is a self-absorbed, egotistical, jerk, and yes a pit viper. Joan was crazy at times but at least knew how to get buy with it. I can’t stand the phony Annie.

(53) Myra says:

Thank God, that ego maniac Annie didn’t win.
She just knew she had it in the bag. If she hadn’t been such a jerk and so phony and back stabbing she might have won because she is indeed very smart. Her personality did her in, thank God.

(54) George says:

Donald Trump and Joan Rivers deserve each other — what a pathetic duo.

I was shocked at what a horrible nasty bitch Joan Rivers turned out to be. Perhaps she’s extremely bitter because she has to look in the mirror everyday and see what a freak she’s become with her ridiculously stretched skin. Or perhaps the guilt and embarrassment of her constantly lying while on a nationally televised TV show caught up with her. Either way, if she and her loser daughter had enough intelligence to realize how they came across on this show, they should feel like total a**holes.

It was the first time I’ve ever watched any of the Apprentice series, and it’s definitely the last. Donald Trump’s arrogance is unbearable, and for gawd sake, Donald give in to the fact that you’re BALD. Your silly comb-over is absurd.

Annie Duke won this contest hands down in every respect. She knows it. I know it. And anybody with even half a brain knows it.

(55) Patti says:

The Donald picked Joan because she has a Reality show coming out & you can bet that The Donald is producing it. Joan opened her mouth the next morning on the Today show about her upcoming show, that’s when All the pieces of the puzzle came together. The fix was in, Annie didn’t have a chance!!!!!

Trump a joke? An Ass? An idiot?

Trump is a genius. By putting Rivers and her daughter on the show and fostering the bickering he racked in the highest ratings ever.

Joan Rivers jewelry sales skyrocketed on QVC.

Annie? Who was she before this show? No one knew her, now everyone does.

Who won? Who lost?

It is not how you play the game, it’s what you end up with when its all over. This was a WIN WIN all the way.

Trump Wins Big, Rivers Wins Big and Annie Wins Big.

It doesn’t matter if Annie is a bitch personally – it’s meant to be business and that woman got things done and did things well, even if she was pretty harsh about it. Joan, on the other hand, avoided being team leader as much as possible, was horrifically rude about Brandy, Clint and Annie BEHIND their backs as well as to their faces, and did absolutely proposterous things to protect her competent but insecure, mummy’s girl daughter (who honestly could not let a single thing happen without mentioning that mummy had nothing to do with it. LOL)

Annie was a bitch at times, Joan was a disgrace. But the real disappointment was in that there is just NO WAY anyone would hire Joan after those boardroom tanties. Nobody in their right mind would put her in business for real, whereas Annie would fit right in at the upper levels. It was obviously rigged toward Joan – on criteria and everything else. They wouldn’t even admit that she’d lost the designer! I’m surprised Annie didn’t see that the cards were stacked and thought truth would out.

I’m so glad Annie didn’t win because she was just like a sly fox and had an ego bigger than herself. The game was played well with both people, however Annie maybe should have majored in Chess “CHECKMATE” TO ANNIE

I agree that the show did very well for all of them (although personally I think the River’s women are seriously twisted), but at the end you just have to laugh when you see Trump’s motto. “It’s not personal, it’s business.” Bit of a joke now, considering his behaviour with Joan and also his reactions to Ivanka’s jewellery auction. And the amount of times he supported the stupidity between Joan and Melissa with “oh well loyalty in family”. He certainly pulled down his image of being business-focussed and beyond the personal in his business decisions. I know it’s just a tv show, but he’s the one who branded it with that “It’s not personal” clap-trap and then, this series, proved unequivocally how very personal it is.

I agree 100% with Alan (Comment #7)- he said it all. To Denise (Comment #4), there really is no big deal about Joan getting nasty. After all, that’s all she knows other than plastic surgery. A bitch is a bitch. What you fail to realize with the Donald/Joan team is that Joan forfeited the majority of her charity winnings under the duress of Donald’s one request in return for the trophy to make it appear that she is the real “Celebrity Apprentice”. Why else would she win with less money in her pocket?…of course, a BJ for Donald! Joan has never won (or earned) a thing in her life. Face the fact, she never will.

Annie should have won hands down!! For Trump to allow someone that walked out and quit to return and win? What a joke! I think that Trump was trying to stay friends with his New Yorker buddy and was going to give it to her from day one. He didn’t want Joan to bad mouth him all over New York. I think it was a complete insult to Annie Duke allowing Joan to call her such horrible names and to belittle her in front of America. I loved the show until this happened and I have lost all respect for Trump and now have an insight on how he runs his trumped up organization. Annie if you read these…..you took charge, got the job done, didn’t whine like Joan and raised a great some of money for charity. Joan and Melissa are typical little spoiled brats!

The Celebrity Apprentice finale aired tonight in Australia. I was so shocked and appalled with the result I immediately went online to see what Americans had thought about the result. Glad to see most were shocked with Joan Rivers and her fantasticly useless daughter. (What did she do all series anyway!?!!). I used to think Joan was funny; now I just see the vitriolic old woman that she is.

If you don’t like what you see don’t tune in next season – I won’t be. And I’ll be taking some of that juicy advertising money away with me.

The Don is dead, Can’t believe the smartest business man in the world didn’t see he was getting into a no win situation. He got played by a 75 year old, at least it only cost credibility and not money. Annie won in any boardroom, She is intelligent, elegant, professional and a real lady. perhaps that was what really annoyed the new york trash queen the most. we love you in Australia Annie

The thing that sticks out in my mind is that Joan was nastier, more personal, more vindictive and more manipulative than Annie, but that Joan gets the “all heart” tag and Annie gets accused of being the cold and manipulative one. Joan and Mellissa’s tantrum’s and ego did them no favours and it seems impossible Joan’s win was as “honest” as she claims! I had heard of Jaon but not Annie before I watched, but certainly the series left me laughing at the idea Joan was anything like as “honourable” as she claimed, and the only difference between her and Annie was that Annie was honest about playing the game while Joan hid behind fake and transparent claims to be more honourable, and embarrassing emotional outbursts!

If you had bothered to watch the show you would know that Annie Duke is a liar who alters the facts, takes credit for other peoples work and she is the BITCH from hell…I am so glad Joan won…

I’ve just seen the season and can’t believe he still chose Joan Rivers. You can’t go round saying things like that they were completely inexcusable! Agreed Annie had her fair share of bitching, but Joan took her attacks way too far. Joan might be a nice person, but she takes things to heart very easily (I guess it comes with age) a very bad trait for a business woman. At the end of the day she won the final task so as Piers said fair enough. It was shocking tho, if I said any of those things in an interview or at work, I’d be fired quicker than Superman could do Laundry

I have no respect to Donald Trump. How could he just help the old bitch Joan Rivers win easily? Never watch Apprentice!

I honestly don’t understand when people say Joan Rivers was more classy. I personally believe that it doesn’t matter what your opinion about someone is, you’ll always be the better person if you treat even people you dislike with respect. And I really cannot understand how all that name-calling by Joan and Melissa can be called classy. I thought it was really embarrassing and it defeats completely the purpose of the game. The difference between The Apprentices and the Celebrity Apprentices is that one is about professional achievement, and the other is about charity. No need to get personal like that, because you’re not doing it for yourself.

Of course we never really know what goes on when cameras are off but.. face it, everybody does a bit of backstabbing sometimes, I just have no tolerance for public humiliation.

I’m not saying Joan didn’t deserve to win, I think she did an amazing job, especially for someone her age, and it’s true that she’s more of a team player than narcissistic Annie. Say all you want about Annie, but she did a beautiful job raising that much money for her charity, and in the Celebrity apprentice for me that’s what determines a winner, whatever the Donald says.

By the way, particularly in the Celebrity Apprentice, that guy should be much more impartial. I think it was pretty unfair what he did to Khloe and probably sunk her image to the ground. Again with the class thing..

of course ms. joan rivers deserves to win. i like her performance… she won because she won 3 of the 5 criteria. mr. donald trump didn’t just let her win, it shows on her performance too… as far as im concern there are a lot of people who came in her auction room than of annie’s. though she raised only 1/3 of annie, but if you will watch the over-all performance, i’ll go with ms. joan rivers…

congrats to you ms. joan rivers. i am now you biggest fan!
