Orange County Choppers Closes Doors to TLC Cameras, American Chopper Cancelled

By February 11, 2010

Follow me on:

You'll have to take a trip to Newburgh, NY if you want to see what's happening at the famous Orange County Choppers business these days.

American Chopper, the TLC show reality about the family-owned custom-build motorcycle business Orange County Choppers, has been cancelled.

With the constant feuding of Orange County Choppers owners The Teutul family, the show's cancellation doesn't exactly come as a surprise for some viewers. After six seasons, the show sadly ends tonight with unresolved problems between the Teutul men. Paul Teutul Sr. recently filed a lawsuit against Paul Jr., adding to the family drama.

"The show has always been about building one-of-a-kind bikes and the drama of running a family business," TLC said in a statement about the cancellation. "The Teutuls will always be part of the Discovery family and we congratulate them on a tremendously successful series run."

The final episode of American Chopper airs Thursday night at 9 on TLC. Do you think it was the right time for the show to end or do you wish it would continue? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

I wish there was a way to reshape the show…I will miss this show tremendously…..I hope you reconsider !

(2) Emmert says:

Long overdue. So disfunctional and building bikes that were cheaply made with no invotation, bolt on techology. I gave up watching years ago. Make room for something of quality.

(4) Don says:

Why are you commenting on this report that is a year old?
The new show is Sr. vs Jr. and it is very good show. A lot of people across this country that watch the show can relate to the termoil between this father and his sons, even though it is sad.

January 24, 2011 at 11:30 pm
(5) Marc says:

i agree bolt on parts, styling cues from whoever was paying for the bike the true artists at OCC were Vinnie, Rick and Nubs, check out Biker Build Off shows for real innovations and fabrication.

January 25, 2011 at 1:11 pm
(6) bill says:

I agree with you, marc, but I believe jr was a problem, the other staff was always bitching at him being late or not showing up at all, or leaving after a few minutes. I love Mikey but was being paid to be court jester that finally got old. Jr. became a diva. Everyone of those dysfunctional people are getting what they deserve. We need a show with nub, vinne, and rick, who all helped the teutels prosper.

February 11, 2010 at 7:58 pm
(7) abel says:

Finally !! They should have stuck a fork in that show a long time ago.

People are missing the point thi is not just a fake show but a real family that is broken. Best of luck on your family forget everything else

February 11, 2010 at 8:07 pm
(11) sue says:

i think they should have ended it as soon as they got all touchy feely and when they brought in the boutique. the show should be about the bikes, not about arguing all the time. once the boys left the show, they should have shut up about them instead of constantly yammering on about what they were doing. who cares? if they had kept it about the bikes, the show would still be going strong!

February 11, 2010 at 8:07 pm
(12) Glen Durling says:

I think Paul Jr. and Vinny should combine their talents and give OCC competition. Together, they would create some wild and unique rides.

February 11, 2010 at 8:12 pm
(13) Al says:

The man Senior would not know a blessing if it fell from the sky and hit him on the head. I like the show for the bikes and because Mikey is a tad bit entertaining. But man talk about reaping what you sow. He has, because of his ruthless pursuit control and anger, driven out his own family and has surrounded himself with yes men. I would not want all the fame in fortune in the world at the cost of my own children. What a poor sad ignorant fool. May God help him.

January 24, 2011 at 10:42 pm
(14) cjmarty says:

U hit the nail on the head… when a father can constantly lie about his son , and have others kiss his behind and agree with all the lies they all know P.Sr. is telling is so sad. Except for Rick who has never got pulled into the B.S., Rick is a true friend . The OLD MAN needs to grow up and stop being such a CRY BABY! His son’s work was good enough for ten years and then this fool decides he wants his own son out of his life! P. Jr. is more of a man then his father will or could ever be. And, that Liar, what’s his name Larry? Paul treated him with respect and was fair, this guy looks like some homeless bum off the street>>> get a life u hag!
And then has the gaull to come and ask P.Sr. for advice??? Give me a break! This guy could pick up a phone use an E-Mail why come to OCC for his so called advice?? Then the idiot goes to help P.Sr. like a some kind of lacky to work on his fence?! Wat a dope! Then we hearOCC is in folding? No money to pay his bills? Wat a JOKE!!!This old dude is hiding money somewhere u can bet! We all love u Paul Jr. and Mikey, Vinnie, and Rick u r all the best.

February 11, 2010 at 8:13 pm
(15) dave says:

The only person that likes that guy is his gold diggin wife…Oh.. She’s in it for the money !! I almost forgot.
Jr. thinks he is some kinda genius. And Mikey addict.
Thats pretty bad when there’s to much drama for a reality show !! lol

February 11, 2010 at 8:18 pm
(16) matt says:

Paul Sr may have had the money to start the hole thing but it takes brains to keep the money,he’s all about himself and has forgotton what matters the most,FAMILY!
He’ll die a lonely old man what a shame.

February 1, 2011 at 4:05 pm
(17) Jason P. says:

At least he will die rich and with the most toys…

February 11, 2010 at 8:22 pm
(18) Al says:

I think Matt’s comment struck home. At the end of the day if you are without all your children its time to take a canded look at your self or yes you can say “well here I am all by my self gee I must have been right”. NOT! Get a clue please for love of your children. There are Dad’s all over who would love a second chance to say “I’m sorry for my part”. senior is strong but not strong enough or man enough to admit he could have done things a bit better.

February 11, 2010 at 8:24 pm
(19) SAM says:

Money gets in the way along with pride! Paul sr needs a reallity check, might have been his money, but Paul jr’s talient! Now all he has is a pile of ass-smootcher’s TOO bad SO sad !where’s VINNEY when ya need him?

February 11, 2010 at 8:27 pm
(20) Chuck says:

Its sad to see a family torn apart by money, I’d give every last dollar i had to make my family happy, But thats me… I wish the show would change direction and look into another shop to take over the series. I’m sure there have been others showing interest.

Paul Sr. Paul Jr. Mikey, Thanks for the show and all it has hopefully taught us about family, and maybe someday you can share a meal with the whole family, look back, and look forward to sharing more.

(23) brad says:

what the web site? like to look at it?

February 11, 2010 at 8:31 pm
(24) Joe says:

It was a great show but I seen the end coming when Jr left. It is a shame that Sr, can’t swallow some pride and realize he won’t hear his children yelling they love him in the grave.

February 11, 2010 at 8:34 pm
(25) beau philips says:

My bet is on the shop closing its doors in the near future too. Without the show to use as an infomercial noone will dump 80K on useless, unpleasant to ride, poorly built bike. As far as Sr. goes his new wife and her kids will drain every penny out of him before dumping him…which is exactly what he deserves.
I wish good luck to Junior and Mike.

February 11, 2010 at 8:41 pm
(26) Blackie says:

Loved the show, but not enough to continue to watch is go down hill…nothing lasts forever, but I hope a father’s love for his sons does…get the hint Sr?

February 11, 2010 at 8:42 pm
(27) Rich says:

OCC will most likely end also without the free publicity. Sr is cutiing his own throat sueing his son.

February 11, 2010 at 8:51 pm
(28) Deven says:

American Chopper is what made OCC, Paul Jr and Sr, without the show that business is going to downsize very quickly, the show is the ONLY reason they are where they are……or where they used to be i guess

February 11, 2010 at 8:58 pm
(29) Ben says:

The show was good years ago but became a joke. Senior really is an idiot and that last bike they built shows how foolish their bikes are. Nobody could ride that pos! Smart move ending this show.

February 11, 2010 at 9:00 pm
(30) Jody Gautier says:

All you have to do is watch the episodes at the beginning Paul Jr is the reason OCC made it Paul Sr wouldn’t have OCC if not for him

February 11, 2010 at 9:04 pm
(31) Bruno says:

Sad day indeed!

February 11, 2010 at 9:10 pm
(32) Vinnie says:

With the show over, OCC will have to lay off most of it’s staff and will probably close the doors in a year, two at the most. The show built the business. And everyone now knows the kind of jerk Paul Sr. is.

February 11, 2010 at 9:11 pm
(33) Rusty says:

I know the dad’s a nut but I bet Paul Jr. would have never picked up a welding torch if it wasn’t for the old man! Without TLC these guys arer going to have a reality check when they actually have to work for a living like the rest of us. Senior may have to sell off his pigmy ponies. Hope they’re selling plenty of those Coleman stoves!

February 11, 2010 at 9:16 pm
(34) don buckard says:

will miss the show. find a way to keep on tv.

February 11, 2010 at 9:35 pm
(35) Fabfan says:

Its too bad. The show has been terrible this year. They can make fun of Jr all they want at the shop but he would at least take some chances. Who else at the shop could actually fab anything except Rick? Definately not Sr. He’s in for a rude awakening without the show…He should have swallowed he tremendous ego and welcomed his kids back..

February 11, 2010 at 9:36 pm
(36) steve says:

great show about a small business gone big. family members disagree, thats a healthy thing.

February 11, 2010 at 9:39 pm
(37) John A.T. O'Connor says:

I’ve been a fan of the show since season two, and it was heart braking when Vinnie and what feels like only days later we found out that Jr. was leaving. The fact of the matter is a show can’t survive without strong main characters at the forefront of the program. This end was foreseeable when American Chopper tried to expand on the views of less interesting members of the shop. But still I watched if only to see it fail like it has. Even if the show is gone I would still hope that the Teutuls can someday come to term with their differences.

February 11, 2010 at 9:43 pm
(38) Tammy says:

I am glad the cancelled Sr but I wish they would have a show with Jr and Mikey ..I lost interest when Sr did nothing but talk bad about his kids ..all his kids do not speak to him hummmm Sr who’s fault is it???

February 11, 2010 at 10:01 pm
(39) Brad says:

Give Vinnie a show. He knows what he’s doing.

February 11, 2010 at 10:06 pm
(40) Tod Petteys says:

I feel the show should continue as long as OCC is still in business. I enjoy the bikes they build. I wish you would reconsider. Dump the boys,I am not interested in their business now.

February 11, 2010 at 10:07 pm
(41) Marc says:

The problem is with Paul Sr and him being a greedy SOB, Vinnie quit cause they would not give him more money while Paul Sr was making megabucks. And with the way he abused his kids, he should have been arrested years ago. and lets not forget all of the contractors he screwed over build his latest mausoleam.

Paul Se is just a worthless ahole. Can’t wait to see his next show, American Funeral!

February 11, 2010 at 10:10 pm
(42) Miguel Bonilla says:

The teutuls should stop and make up. This is once in a lifetime and with the gift that they have their fame has years to come. They should Discuss it and rectify their problems. They are family and no matter what happens join together and resolve it. There is nothing more important then family.
Family always comes first.

February 11, 2010 at 10:14 pm
(43) Tim Kreitz says:

TV shows, fame, money and fads all pass away, but the love of family should always endure. Regardless of how you felt about the show or the quality of the bikes, I hope we can all agree in sending best wishes to the Teutuls for reconciliation and peace within their family. I hope they’ll be unified and happy again soon.

February 11, 2010 at 10:16 pm
(44) Mark says:

It’s sad to see it go, but really it wasn’t much about bikes anymore and that’s sad because that was why i started watching the show. Honestly this last year wasn’t great i could watch some about the bike building cause i do emjoy that kinda stuff but ALL of JRs stuff was just torture to watch i honestly don’t care about anything he did, maybe cause i never saw what he did besides draw designes for parks and dog toys. good luck to the whole teutul family and thank you for the memories.

February 11, 2010 at 10:16 pm
(45) Keith says:

Paul Sr. & Paul Jr. should watch their last episode then watch the very first one!!! Maybe they might remember what its supposed to be about!!

February 11, 2010 at 10:17 pm
(46) Bonnie says:

This show used to be so compelling and was much more entertaining when they were in the old shop with the original crew of Vinnie, Jr., Mikey, Rick, Cody etc… It’s really a bummer that it all imploded over the last couple of years. The reality is, the show has pretty much sucked over the last few years and been depressing.

February 11, 2010 at 10:18 pm
(47) Doug says:

How come everybody blast the old man. He is the one that built the company and made sure it kept going instead of folding when Paulie got bored. Junior was just a whiney gen x’er that wanted to goof off all the time instead of actually working. Why do you think Vinnie left the company… tired of doing Paulies work all the time.
I applaud Senior. He built a small biz into a whole wide company, kept it going when the economy tanked and kept some very talented people employed.
I wish OCC the best!

February 11, 2010 at 10:19 pm
(48) Glenn says:

Sad to see the show end, it has provided me with tons of laughter over the years, I only wish the family can work out their problems. We only see what the TV shows us and there’s two sides to every story. Now with the end of the show I wish them all the best of luck and hopefully someday TLC will bring the show back for a special or more!!!

February 11, 2010 at 10:25 pm
(49) Mark says:

Oh and that was the worst final episode EVER!! i mean really it didn’t end it just felt like another episode i hope they do i final like clip show or something for closure cause that was just a slap in the face to real fans of the show.

February 11, 2010 at 10:28 pm
(50) henryV says:

Glad TLC has finally cancelled the show. For the last 4 years or so it has been about advertising . It was all about building bikes for major companies, movies etc…I got tired of seeing this, it was basically watching a commercial for an hour( probably how TLC made money for the show) . Watching the relationship between them ( good and bad) and creativity of Paul Jr. was what I originally tuned in for. I remember when Vinny had left the show and then senior started to bring in other management people around that time because the business was growing, moving into a new building, that was about when it all went down hill for them. Of course the economy took a dump. Orange County Choppers will go under, the only reason why they were doing business because off all the advertising tlc provided. I doubt anyone will go and buy a bike from them because of their quality, I never saw that on their show. It was just entertainment is what they should have focused on as their business, not making money off bike building. Senior absolutely has no bike building talent, he is a clumsy builder and impatient we all saw that.

February 11, 2010 at 10:28 pm
(51) Lisa says:

Granted, Sr. isn’t that inovative. But, he worked to build the bussiness. Mikey rarely worked two hours in a row, yet Sr. CARRIED him for years. He didn’t pay for such a nice house working for a living like the rest of us. Jr. though he was a rock star. If I had his work ethic, I’d be living on the street. Sr. only fault is that he spoiled his sons until they felt entitled. They are both little spoiled brates, winning because daddy’s not taking care of them any more. I’m sorry to see the show cancelled. They should get back to bikes instead of drama. FORGET about Jr. and Mikey. the show would be MUCH better without them.

February 11, 2010 at 10:29 pm
(52) JIM says:

I am about the same age as Paul SR> I too am a recovering alcoholic ,33 years sober now,My son was killed in a motorcycle crash last year.I miss him and no matter how we argued he came back and we hugged. Paul sr has lost everything while gaining fame and fortune. He should read the Big BOOK of AA and rethink his choices .I would say he’s stark raving SOBER!

September 4, 2010 at 2:41 pm
(53) Brendan says:

I think that’s it: Sr. may have some lingering problems from the booze. I really liked this show but it seems like Sr. had to constantly prove he was the alpha dog—we get it, you’re the toughest guy in the room. So why the need to constantly abuse not only your sons but also Vinnie and Rick? Seemed like rough humor at first but then just came off as abuse. I know people that would’ve not been afraid of the arms or tattoos and would have challenged this guy.
And what happened to following the tenants of the 12-step program. Guy’s out of control and will lose everthing nless he gets back to basics: Family First.

(54) Throttle Junkies says:

Vinnie & Cody do have a new show coming out called Throttle Junkies I think it starts on the 14th.

February 11, 2010 at 10:58 pm
(55) T Price says:

I think between new wife and guys on the inside of the business you will see the fall of OCC. Paul Jr was taken down by “yes men” that got into Paul Srs head and told him he could go alone. Shame on the employees for taking advantage of a weak mined Paul Sr.

when new wifey/sons takes half, good luck

February 11, 2010 at 11:04 pm
(56) Ricky.R says:

The show lost it’s edge when Vinnie left and they never really explained why. He was builder problem solver behind Paul Jr. and he never got the recognition he deserved from the start.
Paul Sr. was too much of me type guy an Paul Jr. became a prima donna. It’s too bad because they will slowly loose business because of the millions in advertising that just went out the window.

February 11, 2010 at 11:07 pm
(57) Jeff says:

I liked it when it was about building bikes.. and building bikes only.

February 11, 2010 at 11:19 pm
(58) Nicholas Ciancio says:

The show was the same old bike builds, different day. The old man was just a sober drunk. I am suprised it lasted as long as it did…

(59) MJT says:

I’m not a avid tv watcher and have never commented like this but I will miss this one. I think I can relate somewhat as a son and a dad of a grown son.

February 11, 2010 at 11:31 pm
(60) Mo says:

Yes I agree that the show now needs to be canceled because of the sad feuding going on in the family. It’s so sad seeing the family destroyed and on ugly terms. It just seemed like even from the beginning they could not really get along and was destined for a blowup between Paul Teutle and Paul Teutle Jr. and also Mikey. Hopefully they can get back to talking terms and at least be civil towards one another and at least be able to talk but obviously not ever work together.

(62) hobo says:

Vinnie and Cody have new show coming up.V-Force customs is the name of there company.
Vinnie was the only guy on that show that was down to earth. The rest of them can go pound sand for all I care.
As far as bike building bikes goes.. NOBODY is better than Jessie James at building a bad a___ chopper.

February 11, 2010 at 11:51 pm
(63) Robart says:

Sad but long overdue. Too much drama and not enough on the builds. I realize drama sells but I stopped watching a few years back. I think Jr. did the right thing by leaving as there is no way I could put up with that crap that his Dad laid upon him. Some was probably for the cameras but the majority was reality. I mean who cares if he was late or took days off as the guy is part owner. I know my boss and his partner come in and set their own hours which is all about being an owner. Mikey is a weird guy and I guess was affected more by his Dad earleir in life. In all honesty they should have just paid Mikey to stay home and come in a for special events only.

To Paul Sr. wake the fack up as you’re 60 years old now and all your kids hate you. You are the common denominator in the equation.

Good luck to them all

February 11, 2010 at 11:58 pm

This show is long over due to see its end the bikes are not realistic for true bikers and their arragance is not entertaining

(65) JT says:

I used to love that show but they lost steam a few years back and expanded and seemed to lose focus.

The finale wasn’t anything special, they deserved a proper send-off but that’s reality tv…thanks for the memories occ!

February 12, 2010 at 12:14 am
(66) William says:

Please let the show continue. You will always hear the negative comments, but the positive ones are backed by many many more that go unspoken. To me that is sad and shocking. At least all the nay sayers are engaged in the show! Bad comments are welcome as far as I am concerned, but the positive ones are even more welcome. I don’t see much reason why criticism cannot be constructive in nature. Life is not perfect, people are not perfect. Just be thankful the Teutuls were willing to share the good and bad with us for these few short years, and please,

if you would like to see the rest of the story (both good and bad) please make a comment now so we might be able to.

I will miss the show tremendously. It is too soon to end it!

If you will miss the show PLEASE SPEAK UP!

February 12, 2010 at 12:14 am
(67) Bean City Dan says:

I believe the problem started as a result of Sr. becoming jealous of Jr.’s fame. It was obvious of who had the inovative talent in the organization and as a result Sr. interpeted it as he was losing power. Instead, he should have enjoyed his son for his creativity and been proud of him. Sr. used the fact that Jr. came in late at times as something to focus his anger on when infact that wasn’t the root of the problem at all. I’m not sure to this day that Sr. ever figured out that jealousy was the real problem he had with Jr. because he just never seemed too deep.
Some of the office people got right behind Sr. and his “real or imagined” anger he had for Jr. because they were hoping somehow they gain something if Jr.’s gone and because they will not tell Sr. “No or You’re Wrong”.
Poor Mikey simply got caught up in the cross-fire.
Sr. got what he deserves and I wish well for Jr. & Mikey.

February 12, 2010 at 12:19 am
(68) SacramentoSteve says:

As many have said already, it was inevitable that this show wouldn’t last. After the loss of Vinny and Cody, I could see some of the chemistry slowly leaving the show.
Paul Sr. definetly has anger issues, and probably needs to check into a shrink or he’s going to have a heart attack. I don’t wish anything bad to happen to these guys, I’m sure they are all good people, but the reality of it is that they are so disfunctional and need some proffesional help.
I would like to see Mike in a few years. Get into a program that actually works and get some professional help.
Paul Jr. should be alright, but needs help in understanding that its not alway about weather you’re right or wrong. Respect goes both ways, and he needs to realize this before the old man is gone for good.

I wish all of them the very best, and hope that TLC can find a new show.

February 12, 2010 at 12:33 am
(69) bruce says:

I feel bad for the whole gang there.Everybody loses.Vinny ,Rick ,Mikey,Cody,Jason. But the biggest losers are Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. and us as Fans!!
I really enjoyed the show I will miss it. I am mad as hell at senior for allowing this to happen. All he had to do was
just shut his mouth and let Paul Jr. build and Mikey be Mikey. The show would still be on.But egos got in the way and now its all gone.
I hope they will start a new show with Jr and Mikey and Vinnie.I would watch that!!

(70) Lee says:

I think its ridiculous that the show didn’t get a proper ending. How can TLC screw everybody over thats been watching this show for years. I will be the first one to admit that the show sucked for the last year or so. I guess i was just hoping the show would get back to its roots of just building bikes and not all the other junk they were doing. Bring Vinny back and have a show about building bikes!

My husband loves this show and gets a real giggle out of the arguments between Paul snr and Paul jnr. While I am not above swearing when I get mad, I get sick to death of the constant nastiness between father and son. I think Paul jnr has the patience of a saint. I would have decked Senior by now!!! He has probably cooked the golden goose.

(77) Stephen Roedel says:

When I read that this was the season finale, and after watching the show, I was thinking of what the show had become and where it was going next year.
Then, I read that it was a series finale and not a season finale and I was left with a feeling of emptiness and a lot of questions. How could this happen? What isn’t TLC telling us? That was not a proper finale…that was just turning off a switch on thousands of fans who had learned to care about this dysfunctional family.
I’ll admit that this season has been tough to watch but I still care about the Teutuls and I want to have a more concrete ending to a series that has entertained me for many years.
Perhaps, next year TLC will touch base with Senior, Junior and Mikey to let their fans know what they are doing…

I guess I am paul senoir. I retired and finnanced a business for my son, spent much of my retirement to secure his future because he never felt important or popular and was not motivated to work hard as I did. The business was doing great the first 6 years.I never asked for one dime back because as the business expanded, new equipment and overhead were needed to make the business grow. I dedicated time and money to make a dream come true that benefited only him. as time passed he spent less time working and managing and more time partying or just laying around all day with girl friends. we started losing business because jobs were not completed. To top it off, he had expensive tastes for toys and started stealing money from the business rather than pay bills. Many dollars were never recovered and I pretty much lost my shirt. I saw alot of the same in JRs cocky no all attitude. Out of pure respect jr could have been on time and shown respect for sr by listening to suggestion instead of doing exactly what he knew upset his father. Having been there and watching as they seperated brought back bad memorys. My son is young and can still work and make a future. My future is gone and I am left with nothing. An auction ended it all and i watched thousands of dollars sold for pennys. I have kept a relationship with my son, I love him but will never understand why an opportunity to have it all meant so little to him..I worked hard even for him and never ask for a penny of payroll. I was a fool and continue to be. Senoir has feelings and despite what is said, he worked hard building a business that made his kids spoiled rotten and lazy. My vote is with senoir.. Mikey never did a lick of work and should have been fired long ago.. Business does not need a full time clown /

(80) Magnum says:

American Choppers and Boyd Coddington’s old series are both cut from the same boring cloth. They were nothing more than soap operas about primma donas with welding torches. The bikes and the cars were an afterthought. In both cases, the projects were more like cartoons than functional machines. From the little they did show about the building processes, the workmanship and overall integrity of design was questionable at best…especially considering the obscene costs.

(81) ChicagoHog says:

I caught the final show, by chance, because I rarely watch this bike wreck anymore. I’ve never seen any series end so unceremoniously and blandly; I doubt if anyone knew it was to be their swan song when they shot it. I’m only left with wondering who to detest the most: Paul Sr., a semi-literate pathological narcissist with little talent as a bike builder and even less as a father. Or Paul, Jr., the most pompous, full of himself ass to appear on reality TV since “Puck” from MTV’s The Real World. Then there’s Mikey, simply a no-talent drug addicted bum who somehow became convinced he was amusing. The shame of the show is, it eclipsed the truly innovative builder artists, like the ones seen on the first-rate show, Biker Build-off. OCC the company will surely fail soon, and that giant barn of a “world headquarters” will remain as an empty monument to megalomania, failings of character and familial dysfunction.

It takes a bigger man to admit he’s wrong. You can’t treat your children that way without an adverse affect. They should sit down and reconsile before something happen’s to one another. To hell with the show, there will be others who can do the same thing, but the real issue is resolve the feud. I can’t imagine a day if I couldn’t talk to my boys,if I couldn’t then I would assess what I said and clear it up ASAP. No man walk’s this earth without a degree of fault,so Senoir and son’s, if read this post, no ones perfect, reclaim your family and cherish the time you have left on this earth.Life is way too short…..

(83) longtime fan says:

As a long time fan of the show it really saddens me to slowly watch Sr. chase his kids out of his life. I wonder if he ever watches the replays of the shows and see how much he belittles his sons. I am a father of 2 and it is my responsibilty to make sure my family is whole and at peace all the time. Sr. needs to start acting like a father, not a owner. Like one comment stated, Sr. has surrounded himself with a bunch of “Yes” men to make himself feel justified for his actions towards his sons. Aren’t fathers suppose to be the example and as a father you always want your kids to do it better than you did and Sr. has completely failed in his responsibilty. I’m glad that TLC finally said enough of this show because it lost it’s focus about what the show was ment to be about….building bikes, not egos! Jr. you and Mikey will be ok, be better husbands and most importantly be the best fathers you can. Like they say you are either like your dad or the opposite, hopefully you both choose the latter……

(84) Tat2mike says:

I have been a fan of the show from the beginning and am sad to see it go. I think money and fame were factors for all parties involved, Sr., Jr., and Mikey. I think that at least in the beginning, the conflict was over Sr. wanting his sons to act like responsible adults and show up for work when they were supposed to and actually work when they were there. Was Jr. a huge creative force for the company, sure he was. Did he develop a prima donna attitude and a less than admirable work ethic? Yep, he did that too. Could Sr. have handled things better, he sure could have. I do think that they all do love each other and have good hearts. All of them seem to understand the need to give back and contribute to many charities. I wish them all the best and hope that they will realize the true value of family before it is too late.

As a lifelong true biker I considered OCC bikes a joke. Their bikes are for show and way over priced. Senior is going to end up a lonely old man. I see the shop closing because today there are much better builders of bikes that actually run. Senior always thought it was about him when in reality it was a team. Give him ten years and he’ll be broke and alone, wondering why everyone wants nothing to do with him. Paul senior, be careful what you ask for because you just might get it.

I know a Father’s love should never end but sometimes it gets tested. I Agree with Sr.’s tough love stance with Paul Jr. and Mike. Someone had to show them the reality sandwich and make them take a bite!!! Apparantly most veiwers have never had the obligation to be in charge of and responsible for someone else. Paul Jr. shows no leadership, no responsibility, and a spoiled brat me first attitude. Any other employer would have fired him long ago. Many people help a company grow and flourish. How many others get the rewards he has taken from OCC? Vinnie was as or more responsible for OCC’s success, did he get rewarded like Paul Jr.??? Mike has no talent, no work ehtic, and “0″ responsibility. Helping an attic is supporting his addiction. Letting him fend for himself is the only way for him to “hit bottom” nnd start to help himself. They both want all the fame and fortune but lack the work ehtic or responsibilty to get there on their own.

(90) rich w says:

Lots of comments, pro and con, on the show, the family, OCC the company. Very few have every met Sr, Jr, Mike or ever been to OCC. I have had the opportunity to travel with Sr over the past few months and during the next few weeks. In private moments he has expressed his love for his kids. He works extremely hard at what he does, as does his entire staff. It is a business HE built from very little. Very few see the sacrifice in private moments of Sr and his hard working employee family. TLC did the family no favors, always editing in the worst moments – but it is an entertainment medium, thus we all got what we wanted.
Sr is actually a very nice guy, along with everyone I met at OCC. I don’t know Jr at all. Mike, I know a good bit about. Vinnie I haven’t seen since he was 3 years old – but I knew his Dad. And Vinnie seems a lot like him – quiet, strong and talented. His reasons for leaving are known, but I haven’t seen anyone actually get it right yet.
The truth is OCC is a well run company, Sr is a great guy, and they have family issues. Not unlike much of us – except it is displayed and then disected by those who have never met the players. It is unclear the future ofor any of us, let alone OCC. Time will tell.
I close with this: The show did not reflect very well the reality of the Man, the company, or the boys. Look beyond the show.

Lets be honest the Teutuls were chosen by Discovery because they were disfunctional and that means viewers and money, who’s going to tune into a show with boring characters. The sad thing is that they could not keep grounded and stay true to themselves. Watch the first few episodes and then watch the last few episodes, can you see the changes?!!! I think this was more about a disfunctional family than a disfunctional bike. It was a good ride but self inflicted wounds stopped the wheels from turning and the three who starred and started now are parted. Greed, money, and fame thats who they have to blame.

(97) Richard C Autorina says:

I will miss this show for many reasons. 1st and foremost I have followed it from the beginning and these faces and voices are more like friends then TV stars. Its been a great show with a sad and tragic twist. When a family is divided that you have watched and laughed with and was always happy to see them come out ontop…this is very sad. Mikey has always been funny, and the two Pauls always managed to get the job done and each had their own flair. Rick and the shop guys too. I wish them all continued success and I trully hope that with scripted reality TV out of the way, the family can once again get back to their old disfunctional ways and atleast be on speaking terms and one day bulid bikes together again.

February 12, 2010 at 9:15 am
(98) Rick says:

The show and fame made these guys who they are today and shaped them into who they are today.
Its sad that the family is in such dissaray, but how did it get that way? What type of a family foundation could there have been for this to happen? A family should not be run like a business and business and family should be seperate. I think a better success is a family who can overcome adversity and see beyond the business aspect, and not let money, metal machines and cameras come between the family unit. We are all going to be in a box someday and nothing lasts forever, but family should be there for each other and watch each others back, not turn thier back.
Do they honestly think that what they have now in thier lives would be there if not for the show, the money, fame, women, company growth, maybe but chances are slim. Maybe Paul Sr. is a great guy but great guys have faults too, the question is is he a great father? He had to have known his kids personalities befor starting this business and this Discovery channel adventure. He can run this business so well so why can’t he run his family with the same results. Paul Sr. is divorced from his first wife, and dosen’t speak to at least three of his kids, there’s something to think about. Put some sleeves on your shirt and get over yourself. Put equal or more time and effort into your family as you do your business that your boys helped you grow. The show made your business what it is not the bikes, they were just an added bonus, but you made your kids and that should be the most important and proudest thing you accomplished, and not judge them because they are not you. You should make your decisions about family not your associates maybe greed has got to them too. Work it out, ask Gus see what he thinks.

rich w.–thanks for the comments.

my opinion–the producer of the show decided that the personal situations of the actors were more important than the show. i watched to see bikes. why didn’t the producers show some of the equipment used to build the bikes. occ has equipment, and talent to do things that most shops, people don’t have, and/or can’t do.

sr. certainly has an uncommon drive. working, playing, pumping iron, or drinking. congrats for the 25 years of sobriety.

the producer of the show probably had multiple hours of video to edit. choosing the family drama over the building of bikes, and focusing on the family differences was probably the choice of the producer, not the actors.

i watched because of the creativity of the bike building. don’t give a damn about the family drama. recorded the program. zipped right through that nonsense.

occ and the teutal’s are what they are. the producers screwed up, or decided that the program needed to end.

(102) Mark Sandy says:

I sat and watched the last episode of OCC. What a shame! Sr, a talent and a drive like no other man. Jr, a ticking time bomb of creative ideas and Mikey that brought the two together, always. Now the designs are built from a computer and not from shear talent, the marketing is formal and just like every other company and the big boss became the enemy, where he should have embraced and built a family empire stronger and better. The episode when OCC went to Dubai made me really sad as the new employees decided that Mikey wouldn’t be a good idea to bring along. First question asked in Dubai was, “where’s Mikey”. Jr who would stroll into work late was just the way his DNA was created, a real creative designer has mind thoughts and creates at a pace unlike others. Sr is the face of OCC and always will be, but I believe his new employee based career driven managers etc would rather reap the benefits than see a family get along and grow. Shame on you. Sr and Jr and so similar but like chalk and cheese and Mikey the bridge. I wish them all the luck in the world and I would do anything to have a father and brother like them, but I don’t and in this bad economic climate, I think they’ve missed the point. Get back to basics and show the nation what a real American family is all about. I am an Englishman and everyday, our English companies get bought out, now I live in the US it’s truly a joy to see America get back to being proud of what they have. Don’t let others around you dictate your destiny. I’m sure it’s more than what us mere people see of tv but, hey, you had a winner. Rebuild, restructure and make this country the American dream again…….I am 41, had a heart attack last year and now unemployed. I struggle to feed my family everyday but am glad that of all the countries I could be in, this is the one I ended up living in. I hope to see OCC back on the airwaves, I know it will happen……Good luck TLC, OCC and I hope everyone in this great nation will pull together and make this country proud to be tagged, “Made In America”…………

It took all three Teutul’s to make the business, and TV show, a success, including Rick and Vinny. Senior seems to have a BIG ego, evidenced by the “yes” guys he’s now surrounded himself with. Very poor form for Senior to allow the shop crew to rag on Junior, even Mikey, on TV. He seems to be more concerned about his dog Gus (calls a shop meeting to tell the guys Gus is going to be OK, and even sheds tears) than he does about his relationship to his sons. I hope they can mend the rift.

I used to watch the show during its first few seasons, but then it kind of fell off my radar for a number of years. I tuned back in Thursday when I heard it was coming to an end, but was amazed at how different things were from what I remembered. New staff; a palace-like storefront and shop; the OCC logo spread everywhere. It was like a marketing event wrapped around a reality TV show. In terms of who’s right and who’s wrong in the whole Jr/Sr debate, I guess I don’t feel like I have enough information to make an educated guess. But it’s fair to say that’s what powered the show, not the bikes. And without that father-son dynamic, the show was pretty hollow. It ended not with a bang, not even a whimper, but basically a disgusting thud.

(126) MJ says:

All I have to say, is we all knew had the talent in this family. It sure wasn’t Sr. That man doesn’t even know how to use half of the tools in the shop. Jr. was innovative, and you know what, it may have taken him time to design, but that just shows that if he’s gonna do it, he wants it done right. His designs were like nothing you have ever seen. Since he left, they have not put out one decent bike. I feel sorry for Rick, he’s stuck in a job, that you can just see on his face, he totally hates. Like lots of others have said, once Vinny, Cody & most of Jr left the show and the quality of work went with them. And if NONE of your sons are speaking with you, you MUST be the problem. All Sr cares about is the $, his ugly ass wife & her sons. It’s like a slap in the face to his OWN sons. I’m glad the show is done, because once the $$ runs out, so will she and he’s going to end up being a lonely old man. Where does his daughter fit into the picture? I bet most people didn’t know he had a daughter. I feel sorry for Jr., Mikey & Danny. They never really had a father and it looks like they never will. How sad is that? Your sons make all of this money for you and you disown them, and talk trash about them with all of your “yes men” in the shop. You’re ass must be chapped from all of you’re good old boys kissing it. In one of the last shows, was it really necessary for you & your cronies to make a special trip to tear the picture of Mikey & Jr off of the side of the truck. That was just really the most disgusting thing I have ever seen a father do to his boys. You should be ASHAMED !! Oh well, the next thing that will be coming down will be that big showroom, because now that there’s no show, who the hell wants any of the OCC crap!!! There is no OCC without Jr, Mikey, Vinny & Cody…It’s time for you to get over yourself. Good Luck Jr & Mikey in whatever your future holds.

(127) Allix says:

First, Vinnie and Cody left OCC to start V-Force Customs – in fact they have a new show coming out February 14, 2010 called “Throttle Junkies,” so you get a chance to see them again.

Second, a lot of comments seem to miss the point of the show. The majority of the fan base isn’t really into bikes; it was always about the family relationship with bikes as the backdrop. Look at TLC and how many bikes show failed due to low ratings. There’s a reason this one lasted 6 seasons, and it clearly wasn’t for the bikes.

Finally, Sr. did build the company from the ground up and put up with the horrible work ethic of both sons. What I’m surprised no one has commented on is the fact that both sons have been severely verbally abused by their father all their lives. Their poor work ethic has more to do with who they are working for. The way he treats his kids it’s apparent that he’s been a failure as a father. Mikey is a 30+ year old man that is clearly suffering with no drive in life while Paulie is doing the best he can. It’s true as adults we have to take responsibility for our lives and stop blaming our parents but with severe abuse I can at least understand what they are going through. Too many people on this forum act as though that part doesn’t matter.

Either way it was a really enjoyable show and will be missed.

I’m 100% positive we will eventually see an “American Chopper Special” in the future since there was no “real” ending. I’m positive TLC is getting a few more months of footage to do an update show. If you read the official press release it wasn’t canceled due to ratings.

Sorry to see the show end. The show went down hill after the boys left the shop. Seniors behavior toward his sons was shameful. Bad mouthing them, any chance he had. His boys showed more class and maturity. Senior needs to take parenting class. Good luck and peace to you family.

Without the show O.C.C. is flipping screwed. Especially in this economy. Who the hell is going to buy butt fart bikes at more than fifteen grand a pop? All of you predicting Sr. will go broke take this mind. He’s started two companies that have had remarkable success so the man obviously knows how to handle money. A damn shame the show went to pot but you had to figure it was going down sometime. At least they didn’t fade into obscurity.

(135) Eddy says:

It is sad to see the show cancelled. It was about bike building but also the reality of a family business. In a family business there will always be disputes. I believe the problem is bigger then we the audience will ever know. I enjoyed the show extremely and wish it would stay. They could keep building bikes and some how fix there family problems. The Teutels have taken for granted what they have accomplished and fail to realize that not one person is solely responsible for their success. I believe all us fans from the $2.00 sticker buyer to the $80000+ chopper buyer have greatly contributed as well. Paul Sr and Jr should see past there differences and remember family is forever and there is enough success and wealth to share without going on power-trip rants with one another. Make up and keep the peace and go back to building good artistic bikes like you once did and keep it going for Paul Teutal the 3rd to enjoy someday.

I will miss the show. After watching for so long you become part of the family in a different way. It sucks when familys turn against each other like that. Money is the rout to many problems. They just need to solve their problems. If you could keep the show running it would be great. Oh, yeah to the guy that said their bikes are cheap, why don’t you try to build one. That’s why they are there with lots of money and you are sitting on your but wishing you could be like them with the money.

This type of show, reality/drama.. is really just about the drama.. If the MFIC’s wanted to do a show about building bikes, they should have done a show with, about, Arlen Ness.. the original custom bike builder… but this show was about drama.. just like the various tatttoo, kitchen, cooking, survior, great race, blah, blah, blah shows…

I don’t need created drama in my life, so I don’t watch those types of shows.. Give me entertainment, comedy, complete shows of farce and nonsense, and I’ll be tuned in… so I watch reruns of Fraizer, Will and Grace, Laurence Welk… and the promo/sales commercials for The Best of Carol Burnett and Dean Martin….

So I’m wondering, when did television loose it’s way?

I really liked the show when Paul Jr, Rick and Vinny were building bikes. Paul Sr and his dogs didn’t even need to be on the show. The worst came when they brought in that goofy kid that ran the computer and then tried to send him out building bikes, i hated him and the so called shop foreman Paul You made bad choices. I hope you loose it all.

(140) Neal says:

There has been a lot of negative comments about the show. That means those leaving the comments are watching the show. It’s called a love hate relationship. Continue the show without promoting Paul Jr’s business, which has not showm to be successful, and get back to Paul Sr. and his new crew working together. A note to Paul Sr. You better not loose Rick Petco, He has been your best fabricator since the show began, and lately you have put all the others in the limelight including the final show with Rick not with the crew at the unvailing at Lowes. Rick should be your right hand man, not Jason. Let Rick design he bikes and use the talent he has.If you loose Rick you might as well close your doors. You already lost Vinnie with the attitude he could be replaced. Well so far it did not happen. Your replacement is still learning. Yes continue the show with a new format.

I’m sad to see the show go, but I figured the end was coming when the Paul Jr. and Mikey left. I’m a woman and not into motorcycles nor do I own one, but for some reason I really enjoyed watching this show. There was something about watching the family together and also watching them build the bikes was very interesting. I just hope that they can work their problems out. Paul Sr. needs to wake up and work things out with his kids. It’s pretty sad that none of them talk to their father. That tells you something right there. What a sad situation. I don’t live too far from the OCC building in Newburgh, NY, so maybe I’ll have to take a ride over there one day.

(143) FRANK says:

This show should of been dumped years ago. The shows were all the same and got boring. The bikes sucked cause they would order parts from cataloges add a few hand made parts and that was it. Vinnie and Cody were smart enough to leave and make a name for them selves. They did not suck up to tv managment like Sr, Jr, and Mikey did. Sr, Jr, and Mikey will not make it by them seves. Sr was a drug user and an alcoholic. Jr got into building bikes becsuse of daddy. Mikey can’t do squat. All they wanted was publicity, Discovery and TLC gave it to them. If it wasn’t for tv OCC would of not servived. Who had herd of OCC before tv? If you did it’s probably cause you live in the northeast or knew of some one who had one of there bikes. I never herd of them untill they appeared on tv. I herd of West Coast Choppers before Jesse James had his run on tv, and no I don’t live in California, I live in Texas. I know people who had Jesse James make them a real chopper unlike the crap OCC makes. They said there bikes were unique, and one else did what they did. I doubt that cause one else had a bike building shop on tv, so how would or we know? Now that they are cancled, and don’t have the one hour tv advertisement, the shop will probably fail. Sr’s gold digging wife will devorse him and take him for his money. Jr’s business’ will not make without the one hour tv commercial. Mikey will become an alcoholic and start using drugs if he is not already, and Sr will join him. Rick will probably join Vinnie and Cody if he can’t get his own shop. TLC and Discover should not have programes that involve making custom choppers or cars. The programs they had have failed. Motor Cycle Mania, Monster Garage, Wrecks to Riches, Overhaulin’ and American Hot Rod, all on tv for a few years then dropped. Now it’s Howe and Howe tech and Motor City Motors. I bet there tv fate will be like all the other custom car and bike shows on Discovery and TLC.

Paul Sr built that entire company before he had Paul Jr and Mikey on the payroll. Those 2 boys should kiss their Dad’s feet for the FAME AND FORTUNE he gave them both. Paul Sr owes them NOTHING. They WALKED OUT ON HIM.

You start out with an abusive father former substance abuser and for all his size insecure and egocentric, what a formula. The son had an artistic flair and showed the father what talent could bring to the table. From the very beginning the father cared more about squeezing cost and time from every project. In the end the abusive behavior became too much for almost everyone to include TLC who quietly decided to cut the cord. 18 months from now you will see OCC shutting its doors no longer having the National spot light and free PR. Everyone knows that Paul Jr. was the master mind of all those fantastic designs. Sr is just an over bearing jerk that feels he needs to control his boys. Well look what it did, the boys have finally had enough and said good-bye to the control freak. I agree with everyone that Sr will die a lonely person. It’s disgusting watching OCC workers kiss Srs ass to get on his good side. Good Luck to Jr and Mickey. You will succeed in whatever you do.

We have watched American Choppers since the first show. We saw them at bike shows and watched fathfully every week. I was very disapointed to see how Paul Sr. would constantly degrade his sons on national television and poke fun at them as if they were nothing. If it werent for Paul Jr the companies success would not have been what it was. I am happy that Mikey is starting a new and sober life and his father should encourage him since he was running the fast life when he was young as well. How do you sue your own child and ddegrade them in such a public way. Paul Sr. was an ass hole to work for and was always on a tirade every show and treated his sons like dirt, his temper was horrible and now he seems like he has finally gotten anger mgt. classes or meds to calm him down. I am glad the show is finished it was not as enjoyable to watch since everyone that made the show what it was is no longer on it. Good luck boys in your future and to Vinnie and Cody, V force customs will be a success as well as Throttle Junkies, your new show, We will be watching your company grow

(164) GrazingGoat says:

Really saddened to hear that “Chopper” is coming to an end. Regardless as to the pros and cons of the standards of the bikes, it really was a show about the family relationships first and foremost.
The problems IMO started when all the backroom yes men started to gain more and more of an influence on the business. For all of the (rightful) concerns about Mikeys lack of work ethic, he was primarily employed to be a presence at unveilings. When it was decided by Steve that he was to be kept at home in the Abu Dhabi episode, Sr should have told him to get stuffed and taken him along anyway.
Wish them all the best as I have a feeling (along with many others) that the business will struggle to stay open for more than another year or so without the shows free advertising.

(165) Robert Kaye says:

As the father of twin boys, (20 years old) it hurts me deeply to see the derision between Paul Sr and Paul Jr. It has had a domino effect on Mikey & Sr’s oldest son who appeared briefly in one episode. I am very close to my boys and it would kill me if I didn’t see them or speak to them daily. I know that problems arise between fathers & sons. It is to be expected but, I could not live with myself if I knew that there was something I could do to heal the situation but didn’t because of my own pride or stubbornness. I pray that now that the cameras are gone, Paul Sr can find it in himself to get back together with his boys. Your kids should always be a parents highest priority. We need to nurture them & be their for them always.

February 14, 2010 at 11:11 pm
(166) joe says:

I have always wanted to see them do a rolling toilet theme bike. They could ride down the road on their chopper ass and take a giant crap. Then flush and have it all go down the drain. That would have been a excellent bike for the last show. NO motorcycle has even near some of the proposed values. Try and resell any custom junk. Perfect example the last hollywood auction of the soldiers bike where Paul Sr. was having to bid on his own bike. There wasn’t even a opening bid at the 25-grand mark.
No doubt Paul Sr. is a hard ass. But so was my Dad. And I miss him now that he is gone. I didn’t always agree with him but still tried to afford him respect, which I’m sure I often failed. Maybe Paul Sr. should have been more willing to hand over the reigns of his efforts to the younger generation of himself and still be proud. No matter how Jr. choose to manage it or not. I mean I’m not sure but it seemed like a pretty sweet deal all around. Any take off of that show I’m going to have to miss.

OCC built custom bikes not choppers. They only really built one chopper and that was Codys old school bike. There was actually some chopping going on there.

(176) Bill says:

I havent watched the show in some time but I will say this it was the realty show I have ever seen it reminded me of my family growing up. The way me and my brothers were raised when ever you opened your mouth or was out of line there was someone there to put you back in your place and thats what it seems like big paul would do.

I dont know maybe the money and fam got to them? But I will say this the one to usually put my brothers and I back in place was my old man and now he has passed away for 5 years in January and I miss him everyday. I happen to be lucky enough to have a succesful business and I get to spend alot of time with my son and daughter and everyday I look at my son and I see me 30 years ago with my old man even this year me and my son will be driving down to Daytona bike week
( he loves Motorcross ) he started riding when he turned 3 years old.

Let me get to the point the reason why I feel such a connection with this OCC family, not only does it remind me of my discruntle family but when my dad was dying of cancer his last 3 months were pretty rough on the family and I would go see him every night and we would watch OCC together and all that he was going through that show you can say what you want about it but it put a smile on his face and I sware it helped take the pain away. And even if it took the pain away from a dying man for a moment that means alot.

The last 5 years of my dads life, him and I did not see eye to eye on alot of things we were both very stubborn just like Sr and Jr and when I seen him cry for the first time thats when I put it all behind me and I stood by his side and I mean it he really looked forward to watching this show. This show has touched my heart and I’m sure it has touched other people and when it all comes down to the end family is family blood is thicker then water and money makes alot of people change.

Paul Sr is the king of all jerks. He ran off everybody because of his personallity. Let’s not forget that he has another son that did not want to be part of the show and he dosen’t speak to Paul Sr either. So when TLC dosen’t hand out a paycheck anymore OCC is going to die in a New York minute. Every bike is built like a carbon copy with the most import features being farmed out to the real artists. I could even run a business that way!!

This Show did more for “the motorcycling hobby” than any TV, Movie, or Magazine…ever. It’s just a shame that when working class folks get a chance to “hit one out of the park”, they can’t handle the success. These folks should be enjoying their good luck with family and friends in some “swanky resort” from now on. Now it looks like they will “piss it all away” to a bunch of lawyers, and still be welding in “no wheresville N.Y.” The bottom line is Paul Sr. is a loser…and no matter how much money he gets, he’ll always be a loser. So Sad

OCC was the first of it’s kind and a show to schedule other activities around, back in the day, but it jumped the shark over a year ago. It sure is a shame that this had to happen. I enjoyed every omoment of the show. After viewing several shows. I Feel that Paul senior has some sort of problem with his comunicatin with his family. After all he is divorced. Has six children which I did not know, until the last couple episodes and they do not want anything to do with him so it seems.
I was up at his show room several times. An I was amazed at the work they do its just unbeleivable. This message is for Paul Senior, Paul life is to dame short, you have to mend things and get tose boys & the rest of your children back together. You are missing out on a lot of things. Beleive it or not your family comes first not your arrogant ways. I am sorry to be the one who tells you this but it is true. You will be dying a very lonely old man. God Bless yo.

This was a good show in the beginning, with the original guys, Jr., Vinnie, the guy with the eyes, can’t remember his name, Rick, Cody all the guys in the start. The original painter. Then Vinnie left because SR. was too cheap to give the guys that made the money, benefits. I am sure Sr. has a no compete clause on Jr. I thought it would be over before this!!

(188) Michael H says:

I used to watch the show, but got tired of Paul Sr’s constant outbursts and tirades. It would be nice if Paul Jr and some of the old crew had a show. Paul Jr may not have been perfect, but he was a great innovator.

(189) Diego Garcia says:

Paul Sr seems to be more comfortable with the leeches/hangers on he has working for him than with his own family. All he has is yesmen who will feed his ego. On one of the last shows he said he was gonna spend all his money so his kids wouldn’t get it. He’ll be swindled out of his money by his new wides kids and his workers.

(190) RayC says:

I enjoyed the show…I’m not a bike rider…but, I found it highly entertaining. I’m shocked, as a father and someone in the same age range as Paul Sr. that everyone is coming down so hard on him. I owned a family business, both my boys refused to come in…the business closed…and we still get along famously. From day one, Mikey has obviously had problems…I’m just surprised it took this many seasons to reveal what the problem was. Anybody with an ounce of smarts recognized it from the start. Paul Jr. does indeed have great creative instincts…but I think he resented the fact that his father was more or less the “star” of the show. I wish Paul Sr. all the success in the world, and I hope one day the boys come back on their knees begging forgiveness. Your parents don’t live forever…and you will rue the day you tore the family apart.

February 18, 2010 at 12:32 am
(191) Dick says:

It’s obvious that these three need each other. However, the money and stardom went to Jr. and Sr. head. Herein lies the problem. Sr. should have laid off a little bit and Jr. should have picked it up a little bit. I hate that the show is over…especially without any closure. Hopefully, this is just one of those drama filled misconceptions that is put together by Hollywood because it would be a shame to see the Teutals go down with the whitetrash likes of the Hogan’s and John and Kate.

(192) Dan says:

I stopped watching this show several seasons ago when it got to the point where they kept flaunting their new found wealth around and became celebrities. Who cares about how big your new house is. I can guarantee ya that Jr’s. girlfriend will be gone once the fame has died……Way to go you screw-ups…you all got what was coming to you!

I am really glad it’s gone…… I always had a problem with drug addicts making millions of dollars….. and don’t say “former” once a druggie, always a druggie . They have all fallen off of the wagon several times…. it will happen again.

(196) stacy says:

sorry, I have to take paul sr. side about letting paul jr. go, yes he designed some nice motorcycles but in what business can you come and go whenever you like, showing up late or not at all. Family business or not it wasn’t right what paul jr. was doing to his father and the rest of the guys. Maybe Paul sr. made paul jr. the way he is by early on letting him get away with crap, Who knows. And what in gods name is paul jr. doing now, he is making himself look like an ass and what is up with the hair, he looks like a qb doll. Mikey on the other hand needs to get himself straighten out and I wish him the best.

(200) Dan says:

I think you should do a show on Vinnie and Cody….That would be funny and they have great vision. OCC was a great show but when Paul Jr. left the chemistry wasn’t there. Paul Jr on his own wasn’t good and the shop chemistry was better but still bad. The bikes lacked a lot of innovation and the new designer was irritating to the point that he seemed fake. I’ll miss the good old days of OCC….

(201) dhinsantee says:

Glad to see the show end. I started out a huge fan but now I can’t stand the sight of the show popping up on my TV guide. Sr. is an arrogant you-know-what and I look forward to seeing his empire disintegrate into nothing. I hope Jr. gets back to his roots and starts building bikes again. I would definitely watch a show with him again. I recommend this new show also feature cameos from Vinnie and Cody over at V-Force.

The two sons were lazy and had no idea how much it took to build that business. Paul Senior rules. Hopefully the two boys will grow up one day, thank their dad for giving them so much and ask for forgiveness and hopefully Paul Senior will graciously accept it.

Let’s face it…a good majority of the bikes built where for companies that did not need them. They had them built for the publicity factor. Without them and without a show how long will they last. I thoroughly enjoyed the show for the most part. I enjoyed it when the family members…especially when grandma was shown so much love…interacted with obvious love for each other. Sr., you are a damn fool! You are an arrogant, totally stupid fool. The burden to make your family “work” is on YOU! I am 61-years-old. My only child was killed four years ago in an automobile accident. I would give my very soul to have the opportunity and children you have. Think and be a REAL MAN! You do not want to get old and look back with all those regrets. LOVE YOUR CHILDREN! TELL THEM AND SHOW IT. You will never regret giving them real love! They will return it tens of thousands of times over. Stand up and be the SMART leader of your family, and enjoy the love and respect you will get in return.

(209) DJ Tyrone says:

Come on admit it. We tuned in every week to see the Teutals make bikes, but we also wanted to see Jr and Sr. go at it.

It’s the same reason we watch Nascar. We cheer for the drivers, but we’re really hoping to see a crash.

All these folks have some serious issues. But nothing devides a family like money and ego.

I went thrfough a divorce, my childrten didn’t talk to me for 15 years. My daughter came back, my son’s don’t hate ME. You negative people are small minded and un experienced in real life. I would be willing to watch any new show that included OCC or Paul jr and Mikey. Now we are stuck with shows about sleazy tatoo parlors and Women Cops, how entertaining, another cop show! This show was truly different and I am sure it will be missed by a lot of people. I am always amazed at the broad spectrum of people who knew about this show. Its a sad day indeed !

February 25, 2010 at 4:23 pm
(214) thetruckman says:

OCC and the Tuetels became famous for building theme bikes for sponsors of the show. without the show there are no sponsors. thus no demand for bikes. As the co. grew they brought in managers to help run the “business”
at the expense of the “show”. The most entertaining members of the cast were mikey, vinney, paul jr. and the old man and his yes men and probably his new wife drove them out. Hope you saved some of that money you made Sr. because your ego is buiger than your brain.

It was very emotional for me.

(222) Kirk Hoffmann says:

well Paul Jr has nobody to blame but himself. His father worked his ass off & built the company, then brought Jr in & eventually made him a partner. It’s just sad to see that when Jr was given a share of OCC, he just started to slack off. say what you want about Paul Sr and his attitude, at least Sr was there everyday putting whatever he could into the business, whereas Jr would always slack off, come in late and then let “his “ego” run wild. Vinny saw it coming at took off with Cody. Feel bad for Paul Sr, he gave his boys everything they now have, and look at how they’ve treated him in return.

i enjoyed watching the show….. for what its worth, it opened the eyes of teens all over the usa to get involved in something positive as learning a trade… welding, painting, building… so it was a good show. i did see how eventually they lost their minds and began to throw money in the trash.. like crashing the ford explorer into the walls of the old shop…. then we saw jr’s mercedes … then sr’s new home, classic cars..etc…. living the high life but LEAVING Vinny,Cody and the other guy without the serious $$$$$$$ that was messed up….. they became greedy…

my favorite episode was when ever sr’s mom was on it… such a wonderfull old lady….. everyones grandma…. i wonder how she feels about all this legal battles…..

i would like to see a TLC vinny, cody and the other dude get a chance to show their machines.

Sr. is the worlds biggest poser. He is about as much a biker as I am a brainsurgeon. I was unfortunate enough to meet him one night in a bar in Middletown in 1981, this “been doing this for years” phoney would not even has his name in a phone book were it not for TV. They built junk, unrideable junk, made a lot of money, now, go away. I saw one of their “fan runs” a few years ago, only one riding their crap was Sr. So much for their wonderful bikes, huh?
Soon, OCC will be an empty warehouse. Can’t wait.

(241) Bernard says:

I loved the show and a lot of the bikes were cool. It was a Reality TV show and all of the problems and fights are going to be shown for the audiance. I went to the Grand opening of the big place in Newburg and the 10 year aniversary there. Met the guys and they were all very nice and accomidating. Sr. was great to meet and I think the show made things look worse than they were. It is how they get people to watch. I wish the best to all the Teutuls and hope for only good things for all their futures.

March 14, 2010 at 4:11 pm
(242) Hans W. says:

I don’t live in the States. So I don’t know about the work ethics there. I think that when you “make your hours”, deliver (just) in time and make products that are the basis for the company, I think you are doing all right!
I loved the series for the way they build bikes, as a small company, in “a shed”. The bikes itself are laughable and only meant for expensive display. I drive about 15000 to 20000 km a year and I can’t imagine doing that on such a bike.
Since Vinny left, the show was coming down. Sure, Jr has a attitude problem, but he was the creative drive behind the bikes.
“(82) rich w says: I close with this: The show did not reflect very well the reality of the Man, the company, or the boys. Look beyond the show.” Sorry, I can’t. I can only look tv and see that a small company is growing very fast, obviously thanks to the show. And in the show Paul sr is acting like a dictator who has never heard of being a representative off his business: sleeping at work, getting a tattoo in work time, feet on the desk, demolishing things for fun and putting some representative clothes on and so on.
I hope the Family will grow together, but it is about taking and giving, for everyone!

March 14, 2010 at 4:41 pm

(245) EAB says:

The funny thing is, the show was initially supposed to be a one off about a small bike shop building a bike. However, when the dynamic of Sr. and Jr. was experienced, then TLC decided they had a show. So TLC exploited this dysfunctional family of limited education for THEIR gain. And now, the family is destroyed, TLC is counting the money and the Teutels are collateral damage.

I wont’ blame Sr. or Jr. as I have observed many a dysfunctional blue collar family. I am so sorry they got played by “the man” but that’s exactly what happened.

Want to bet they spent most of what they made?

March 18, 2010 at 12:09 pm
(249) Brad says:

As a small business owner, I can tell you from experience it is never wise to hire family. You have to make every effort to treat family employees just like everyone else or sew the seeds of discontent among the other employees. And a business has to be run as a business not a family get together. Juniors constant inability to get to work on time, and put in a full days work wouldn’t have been acceptable in any other business and shouldn’t have been at OCC. And if any of my employees ever talked to me the way Junior talked to Senior, he would have been in the unemployment line the next day. Mikey’s inability to perform even the simpliest task would not have been acceptable either. Its hard to get work out of everyone else with these things going on. After all the goal of a business is to make a quality product at a competitive price and MAKE A PROFIT. Senior was right in letting them go. He was wrong it taking so much time to do it. With all that said, I enjoyed the show and will miss watching it.

Yes not always easy especially when working with family but achievable . There are alot of big names out there that you have helped build a bike for , i’m sure one them could help or give advise to point them in the right direction .

I love the show. Here in Holland it is still airing. I didn’t know the show was cancelled, I just read it here because I was searching the net for reasons why Vinnie left. That is still a mystery to me.
I will miss the Teutuls but I think it is better for the family if they solve their problems outside of the camera. I really hope they will get out of this mess and I wish them well.

It was strange at first to see how Paul sr. ran his business. The fights, the things they destroyed just for fun, the way they dress… I don’t think you could run a business like that here in the Netherlands. People just wouldn’t take you seriously. It is a typical American thing I think. But still, I loved it and I like the family Teutul.

great show, watched every episode, sad to see it end after seeing how it began from such a humble workshop.
i hope the guys sort out their differences as they all do seem to love each other. its a pity Sr. is such a thick headed guy and cant see what he has, a little bit more relaxed and he could of had family and business, now he just has business and i doubt it will last with out the advertising from the show, so he will be left with very little.
foolish and short sighted.
i dont have kids but if i did i wouldnt treat them so bad. especially if their talent helped build my business!

(257) Heinrich says:

It was sad to watch Paul Sr. fumbling around trying to work on bikes the last few episodes I saw … the man was obviously out of his element. He is a ironworker, not a motorcycle mechanic or fabricator.

As for the way he has always treated his family … three sons and a daughter all want nothing to do with him? That speaks volumes. If it was just Paul Jr. … then maybe, but every one avoids him, then his is obviously the one with a problem. Your family isn’t rank file people you hire-out from the hall and carelessly abuse publically … they’re your blood, Paul Sr. … I’d turn my back on you if you treated me that way … well, after I cracked you hard in your big mouth.

The weirdest scene was when Paul Sr. was speaking to his workers, most of which are tenth-degree brown-nose’ers, seeking their sympathies about his dog, a dog he treated better than his own blood, in a queen-for-a-day diatribe which turned out to be nothing out of the ordinary for an older dog of that breed … so Paul’s dog lived on … but his family is DEAD.
Get some help after your businesses fold, Paul Sr. … you’re a mess!

It would be nice if Paul snr and the rest of the family could put their feelings behind them after all life does go on even if they dont work together and Paul jnr /Mikey you only get one father so bury the hatchet and forgive and forget.

Another casualty of so-called reality TV. Would they be as famous without the show? No. Would they be as well off financially without the show? No. Would they still be together as a family without the show? Maybe, who knows. American trash culture rolls on, and the Tuetels, free of constant TV cameras in their wake, now get to pick up the pieces of their lives and business (and litigation) in private.

towards the end Snr was walking around bent over slouching while walking, thats what happens when you have the wieght of unforgiveness on your shoulders. Pauly, mikie & venni should get together & give occ a run for it’s money maybe then you will see where the real talent is. They are the guys that made occ. Seeing those clowns stripping back the truck & laughing while they were going was sickening. they looked demonic & senior was right there while they were mocking his son’s along with him. If he was half decent he would have said, “leave my boys alone, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for them”. but No!! Dummy.

(265) Bill Browning says:

I enjoyed this show tremendously in the earlier seasons and am sad to see it go off the air. The end came (I think a lot of us saw it coming) when Paul Sr. fired Paul Jr. and Mikey. The show was popular, due in large part, to the early family dynamic and Paul Jrs. creative ability. A lot of people enjoyed watching Paul Jr. design and build his custom bikes. A lot of us also enjoyed Mikey’s antics. When Paul Sr. cut his family out of the business, even though he may have had a good business reason (however I don’t believe that any of his current staff are as talented as Paul Jr.), the show wasn’t that interesting anymore. And that was the beginning of the end for American Chopper.

(266) lee says:

I watched every show from the start. I knew when Paul Jr. left that was the end. I had hopes it was all a set up to get us to watch. But sadly it is a real break up. I have two sons of my own, and can not think about turning my back on them, for money, women, bikes or fame.I love the show and will miss it, but more than anything, I hate to see the family in such a sad state. I would love to know about them if they ever make up. I wish then Gods Speed, and all the luck in the world, and thanks for a good time.

(278) Pierre says:

There is an old saying. That if you run your business, do not employ your friends and family in it. The reason is simple. It is hard to be objective to your friends and regular employees. Your friends will start to take advantage of your friendship and usually at the end you will split and become enemies. Friends usually think they should have a preferential treatment, but that is not possible and therefore friends cannot work for a friend and hope that they will stay friends. Here you have the prove. I was asked once, long time ago, to find jobs for my friends. I did, and I did it for them only to help them. Then they wanted me to open up a company and employ them. I did that too. I had employed about 20 friends and people that I knew well because they could not find a job due to lack of language knowledge. As soon as I did all that for them, I found contracts, bought material and paid them, they started drinking and stopped coming to work on time and sometimes did not even show up. Out of 20 – 25 employees there were only 2 who did show for work daily and did the job the way it should be done. When company started losing contracts because they did a bad job, I fired all of them in one day and kept those 2 hard working ones. That’s what you get when you have your friends working for you. They use you and cheat you they envy the fact that you make money on them and they are not doing anything well because they know that you will forgive them for their friendship. But business is a business and friendship is after hours. I do not see any friendship when friends are cheating on you and they sabotage your job and you lose your contracts because of their lousy workmanship. Therefore, always employ only strangers in your business and never friends. Otherwise you will lose one friend and have one more enemy.

(279) H. Suck says:

Not a big surprise, they lasted years longer than they had a right to. The “family drama” was a joke and the bikes even more so. I guess building tasteless, unrideable bikes went right along with having a dysfunctional family of morons thinking they could all get along with each other.

Hopefully, they made enough $$ to hold them over, as Mikey and Jr. aren’t exactly MENSA material. Paul Sr. can continue to bully people on his own, without the cameras rolling- what a loser.

(280) colinA says:

well it seems that the old man every time he gets a new order for a bike always says its for under priveliged and to do good.
well i think its time do do good first with your family. charity starts at home.
when vinny left i was sad, when the Jr. and mikey left i was sadder.
maybe mikey isnt a mechanically indisposed character, but he was artistic and should have been put onto the right path.
all i want is the best for them all.probably wont turn out like that.

April 4, 2010 at 9:51 am
(281) Nadine Sales says:

I think it is absolutely the best thing they could have done to close the show. The way Sr spoke to his staff and his children was a way that is distasteful to a young generation. That is no way to show respect or receive respect from anyone. He needs to go back to education school so he can learn how to communicate with people. He has only HIMSELF that he thinks about and no one else matters. I pray that Jr makes a great success of his life and for mickey the same. They deserve the very best. The LORD keep them safe and protect them as they come and go.

April 4, 2010 at 11:47 pm
(282) Owen Davies says:

I really enjoyed the show, The original people in the show were entertaining in there own way. Paul jn is a decent man, Mikey just a clown, Paul sn should realise who buttered his bread. All motorcycle desigins need to move with the time’s, stuff from the 60,70,80, was great back then, but not so much now. Paul jn was the future of this company, Paul sn needed to make that space for him and accept this.
I know that he started this company, and now he will end it. Why would you surround yourself with “yes men” and turn your back on the future of your family and the company.
I will miss the show and I only wish for the best outcome for you all.

While the bikes may have been inovative they came at an expense to great to measure. The constant fighting inside the family. The show may have contributed to that fighting as it seems the viewers liked that. I watched only to pick up tips on fabrication. The fighting got old after the first 30 minutes of the very first show.

I hope they can make up and learn to love again without the stress of having to please viewers.

(292) Tony says:

Paul Sr. started the business he did the right thing and bring on his sons. Paul Jr. had a good eye and made some nice bikes. Mikey..I’m not really sure why he was there. I think fame got to all of them in some way and Sr. generation struggled with Jr. generation of being a bit slack and unreliable, which put pressure on everyone.

Under these circumstances something has to give. The family is torn appart in front of millions and sides are being taken as to who was right or wrong. The bottom line was everone was involved in the show and all contributed to what the show was good and bad.

I hope for the sake of “family” they can all somehow resolve their diferences and get together again as a family business without the camera’s.

Good luck to them all!

They will all run out of money in time and then they will be begging for someone to give them a show showing how they all have “kissed and made up”.

If you ever saw one of their bikes at their store, they wanted BIG bucks for a cheaply built bike.

Hope no one gives them a 2nd chance at a show. There are pretty much washed up.

(301) Brian says:

I had watched the show almost from the begining and felt early on that Paul Sr’s emotional tantrums were somewhat fabricated for the camera…..but then they persisted I realized that much of it was NOT acting. There is a reason his wife left him and his daughter (a nurse) only appeared in a few shows…….They can’t stand his abuse of alcohol and family. Eventually the boys left too. God knows how they managed to stay on so long, being verbally abused by their father. Let’s not forget either how money tends to corrupt….Just view all those “reality” shows like Hogan Knows Best and John & Kate Plus Eight. When shallow people get lots of money thrown at them, every glitch in their personality gets magnified. My bet is the brains of the family (and best part of it) was the one I never saw….the wife that left him to perserve her own sanity and physical health. I feel bad for her, watching her X destroy what “family” they had going. I hope Sr gets therapy and the family can manage to heal (without the money being in the way). The best thing that can happen to all of them is to return to middle class workking stiffs!

Paul Sr may be a bit of an A Hole but he is the founder, the primary owner and the boss of the outfit. And Paul Jr may have a lot of knowledge and skill in building bikes but he is a horrible employee and a bad example for the rest of the crew. He’s always pushing Sr to the limit with his disrespect and laziness – coming and going when he pleases. Paul Jr needs to realize he fell into a pot of gold with his father’s business and he should count his blessing every day, not give his father a hard time and nothing but grief. I’d have fired him a long time ago.

HELLO… Nothing on TV is real. American Chopper was a TV show and the editing was the art – not the bikes! However, families are real, and there’s plenty of blame to go around for the disillusionment of the Teutul’s. I’m making a personal plea that all of the principal players take a collective deep breathe, sit down to a big family dinner as though they knew that one of them would be dead tomorrow, and get their lives back into perspective and on a loving track. A neutral location would be best, and since I own a restaurant (Tub’s Fine Chili in Culver City, CA – in the heart of TV-land), I will donate it any night of choosing for the Teutul’s chow-down get-together.

After all, life is waaaay too short for any other alternative, see you at Tub’s!

Paul Sr. is a meat-head without an ounce of love in him. When he is lying on his death bed dying of cancer he will then understand that his life never amounted to a plug dime. You know guys unless we grew up and lived with this family and each of inside each of their heads, we have no way of understanding the reasons behind the decisions made by Paul Sr. Paul Jr. Mikey…etc.

Judging others in such a blanket manner is really judging yourself. The standards by which you judge others will be applied to you in the end – best not to judge but rather seek to understand.

I know I’m an a-hole for saying this, let the insults fly… For the record, I don’t particularly like Senior, but it started all with him. So credit needs to be given that but for him, Paul Jr. and Mikey would probably be working a parts store or managing a Harley Davidson dealership.

As a father of two wonderful boys of my own I feel sorry for the relationship that they have as father and son’s. (321) Kenny says:

I always watched the show whenever I could get it. I also always suspected senior was jealous of junior but it was confirmed on a recent show when senior was looking through his new book. He came to a couple of pages with photos of some bikes and he quickly and emphatically stated that these bikes are “MINE”. Junior was just constantly stealing the limelight from him. What senior never could understand is you can’t turn on creativity like a light switch and it doesn’t necessarily start up just because you’re there at 7am. I’ll miss the inner action of the earlier shows when they use to take breaks from the business and have fun. They’ll be missed!

In short these reality shows rob from them and us as a whole, look at what is on any more, reality this reality that, and are kids are watching this stuff, and god only knows what they are thinking, we wonder where todays values are going when it comes to our kids and our families? Paul snr & jnr need to go on a anger managment course.

O C C has losst 60% of its talent in Paul jnr walking off.

It really was a great show in seeing how these great bikes got made. Bottom line is there was just too much yelling going on. Those bikes all got built no matter what.
All yelling; especially in public brings about resentment in the end. No real need for it.

I am amazed how Paul Senior could be so ignorant , he is so clueless….he had it so good and obviously didn’t know it! And because he was such a control freak, and had all that unwarranted anger towards his own son (s) etc. he cut off his nose to spite his face! He drove out his own family and surrounded himself with ass kissing yes men. What a total fool! Most people that act like him, are either on drugs (in his case too many steroids for too long) or he is just bipolar, and needed to be put on medication. Paul Senior…..you will only have people around you, and act like they like you until the money runs out! And you will die a lonely man with no one loving you!

(341) RAYCW says:

I have mixed feelings about the end of the show. At first I thought it was a lot of fun and that the arguments could have been scripted. It didn’t take long to realize that Sr doesn’t have a brain cell to count with and that the true talent in the OCC business was Jr and the employees.
Being a 30+ year motorcycle mechanic I could see some of the short cuts they were making and that these bikes weren’t designed for riding… just for show. Their (OCC) demise was a forgone conclusion. Now that Sr has ruined his relationship with his children I can see that he’s getting what he deserves and the true winners will be those that disassociate themselves with him.

June 28, 2010 at 7:00 pm
(342) Rich O says:

Ray…..your exactly right. I’m not a motorcycle mechanic, but I could see that some of things they did especially when it came to building the bikes just didn’t look right to me, and a lot of them were made more for show then to be ridden for any length of time. I just felt sorry for Paul Jr. though, he put up with so much crap from his father. I know if I accomplished even 1/4 of what Paul Jr. did, for my father’s business, he would never question anything I said or did, and never treat me like Paul Sr. did to his son.

Doin this from a phone makes it difficult. These brnd new phones r supposed to get better. Not worse. Yould think theyd have a better mouse by know. My last phone the g 1 had both thenumbers seperate and the ball for the mouse instead of the pad. Wich worked amillion times better. Ridiculous. I bet paul junior designs would get the chance to redesign it for htc or tmobile in an instant. Why. Because of his daddy and the publicity of the show. So really without daddys help. There would b no paul juniors design, no tv show no mercededs, escalade choppers, a home worth millions, etc. Who knows what else. Whay start a boutique. I think its good to show all the stuff with there personal life at there houses everything. Why not its tv an admit. It nice how to c how these spoiled milionares live with the exeption of senior. He earned it and i think hes a grat person. Wish i knew the guyan coul call him my friend. Think wse would get along great. Turning out an being a certified california journeyman electrician at 24 wasnt the easythings. Ive worked on from high schools, elemtry schools. Wetf schools, to wiring a cabn out in the middle of no where,to banks houses of course, to straight industrial work and ruined my life by almost losin my foot in aa motorcycle accident by making some stupid decisions an prbably just getin a little full of myself lets say. Wasputn in some work at the gym an was doin good withthe ladies an ges i was pretty full of myself. I fooled myself pretty good. THought i was incincible. Until u tel the doctors do whatever it takes to just save ur foot an time after time the tell u. The best thing to do is to amputate it. I stuck to my guns an told them no more talk of that. I canalways do that later. I told them i dont care if i have to drag it. Im keepn it. We can always cut it off later. Here we are a year later an its doin great. Not as good as it use to be. Of course not. But i did have some great doctors at uc davis. Thank you doctor giza and my minds goin blamk. His second resident doc was the best too. So thanx doc. Foots doin great. So ive had plenty of time to watch these episodes. Actuually thinkn about rightn abook about my whole experiences. Believe it could benefit an help out a lot of people who might be goin down the wrong road and think they are gods gift. Like i did. Anyways. Thats not what this was about. Just wanted to state that all 3 of these guys are gret people an just because u dont agree with them doesnt mean u should hate on them like that. Why not just offer suggestions instead of running ur mouth. All these guys should have cherished being able to have the lifesyle they have an being able to work with there father an sons everday. And the should be excited about keeping the business going forever. Senior being the wise one. Fix that man. If vinneie wante more money pay him or maybe he shoul of asked or said if not he was gonna do his own thing. Because the whole mix of all those guys made the show what it was. A great show. Ive had all kinds of bosses. Way worse than senior. He aint gonna fire ya. He doesnt do anything except b there an do what he does. Thats what hes supose to do. He owns it he started. Maybe not b so blunt about it but whatever. Just leave him alone an im not stupid. He does way more than we think. Otherwise they wouldnt be there. An the same goes for junior an i dont agree with some of his work ethics. He has some good designs. An he prty did what he wanted an thats fine. He practically owns it. So let him do whatever the **** he wants. Even when vinne fixed that bolt. Paulie should of had a better attitude towards that. That was bs how he jus said vinnie fix that an walked away an just came strollin back in when he pleased. But who gives a crap. It all pays the same. Everyone gets there check on friday. Has it ever not cleared. Show shut the f up an just work. Work aint suposed to bfun usually. Remember. You didnt have that tough vinnie. Without occ u wouldnt have the sucess of ur new business if u even had any. Y not just ask for more money. Instead of leaving. Dont think they would have let u go. An look at all the love senior showed for kids an disfunctional kids. And animals. Senior was a great guy. Bet hed be a great grandpa if hes not already. If he yells its n his nature. Like i said it just means he likes ya. Yell back at him. He aint gonna fire ya. Its just a shame his sons took everything for grantid an didnt wanna work there an pass it on. Paulie did mess some things up wprkn on bikes. But he had some great designs. Anhe was great for the show. No ones gonna watcha show on the boutique. Why not put all that energy into occ. The same thing that made it possible for the boutique. An the same thing that made ur millions. Could have made occ that much better. What think ur father really wouldnt pass it down. Come on. So many other ways u could of gone with occ. Heck u should have named the boutique occ boutique. Then u might of had a chance. Ridiculous. Junior an mikey. I would of loved to be in either one of ur positions. U guys know ur father better than anyone. U guys should have worked it out. And the show would still be here an you guys would have been makin evin more millions. Just fix this guys. Get back to occ stop the law suit and love each other. U guys have a great family. Including ur grandma. An start the show again. For all you guys to branch out was stupid. Occs till gonna make money theyre world wide. Theyve got shirts, lighters, hats everyhing in liquer stores gas stations. Everywhere. Whos gonna compete with that. Occ might lose some money. But theyre not goin anywhere. As far as all as all these other guys are branchin out with. Good luck. What are you guys gonna do that occ cant or hasnt already did. Come on guys. Work out the kinks an get back on the horse. Seriously. Come on. We want the show back. Love ya senior junior an mikey. U guys r great. Support ur fathers business. He loves ya. He did this for u guys his family. If vinnie cant apreciate what occ did for him an vforce so be it. Theres other vinnies. Even though he was prty cool an rick to loved rick to. Heard he might be doin his own thing to. That does not tear apart true brotherhoods…… I wish shows like this would have died a thousand deaths many years ago, the fact is they perpetuated a whole class of counterfeit bikers that are selling the bikes they bought to try to be part this farse and realized thats not who or what they were…… just check craiglist….

I believe that he is really a decent person and has more brains than the other two put together. I had the pleasure of meeting him in Daytona a few years ago and he couldn’t have been more gracious and down to earth unlike Paul Jr. and Sr. On the other hand Jr. was driving around the area like he was the only one on the road and damn near ran over me on my bike… very un-cool guy. Here it July 2010 and my Dish timer still picks up ‘new’ OCC shows (Paul Sr in Abu Dhabi – cool as long as he keeps his trap shut most of the show). I agree with the majority of the comments – Sr can be admired for starting from nothing just don’t believe that the viewer needs to hear about it at all the volume of screaming he presents in on each show. And isn’t there a versus in the Bible that talks about fathers not provoking their children to anger? Pretty sure that’s in there. I stopped feeling sorry for Mikey years ago – talk about lost-soul, Sr should be scrraming at him instead of at Jr, who at least has made the most of his talents. I’ll miss learning from watching them build the bikes and I wish the employees of OCC the best as they’re really the ones that made the company a success, had to be painful for them to atch the biz unravel the way it has. I’m ready to see Vinny and Cody get a chance at a pilot show or two. Peace out!

Paul Jr. is a Prima Donna of epic proportions. Um, that doesn’t make for a lasting partnership, folks.
In the beginning, the show was entertaining, albeit the fighting and screaming became old and annoying quite quickly.
The creativity and vision of Paul Jr. was impressive for the first few years, but as success came, the hands on approach left, to be replaced by computer design, machines, and gobs of high tech equipment which ultimately sucked the very soul out of who and what OCC stood for.
Now, sadly, all that remains of a once mighty and entertaining enterprise, is a broken family, and a business left in ruin. Too bad…too bad indeed. R.I.P., OCC.

Well, There back, at least for now. I saw the first 2 episodes of Sr vs. Jr, but for some reason it wasn’t on this week? Oh well. I think that Paul Sr needs be a little bit more respectful to his sons. I think Paulie has great talent designing and fabricating bikes. Yes, he is a bit lazy and needs to grow up a bit, and take responsibility for this. But, non the less is work is awesome. Paulie and Jason make an great design team. As for Mikey, OMG! He is the funniest one on the show. My wife and I love Mikey. He too just needs to grow up and take responsibility over his life. I hope that American Choppers, Sr vs Jr continues for a long time, and that Paulie, Vinnie, and whom ever else is hired blow OCC and Sr out of the water like fishing with TNT. Will take time, no doubt, but I know Paulie Designs can do it.

(393) Gary DeMoney says:

The show got started because of Paulie’s awesome designs the old man was riding on Paulie’s coat tails and got rich in doing it. As soon as he was able to hire another designer and more help the back stabbing ass fires his son. He’s nothing without everyone else doing the work, but he takes credit for everything. No wonder his family hates him.

SR, slow down and enjoy life.
JR wake up dumbass

(395) Limpet says:

The whole thing has been a farce for ages. Big corporation wants publicity, spends 100k to get their name on global TV. The bike they end up with is not only irrelevant, but built using an epic set of tools and workshop machinery provided free by manufacturers after global advertising. It’s a total farce with nothing “reality” about it at all.
The real skills of people like Vinnie and Rick were never valued, and the bikes were rehashed versions of the same thing. Weld some “theming” tat onto a bought in frame, then get Nub to give it a stunning paintjob. This company would not exist outside of the reality TV world.

I just started watching this show avidly. I hate to see it go I would love to find out about the family. I am one of the few who is on Paul senior’s side. Although I still like junior. I just wish this family could mend things and have peace within. Junior has a lot of pride and did not show up for work right and was like the prodigal son took what he got and ran. needing money and wanting to distance himself from his father is going to sell off his share of OCC? I pray for them all.
will miss this show

To choose money over family, is a sin.Paul sr. has no idea what it takes to be a father. When you choose money and strangers over family, this is what happens. I had a great deal of respect,at first, but to choose as he did,I no longer respect him , in fact I pity him now.All the money and cars you have will never replace flesh and blood. If I were Paul jr., and Mike, I would completely wash my hands of the big windbag permanently. One day the old bitter man is gonna need his family, and it would serve him right to be alone. To turn your back on family is unforgivable, and its fitting that we are no lopnger subject to the endless put downs and hateful words coming from his tired, and hateful mouth. Are you happy ? Have you set an example for those grandchildren to follow? No wonder your always grouchy, since its evident you don’t like yourself. Best of luck Paul jr & Mike, leave “oscar the grouch” to ponder what went wrong. He’s just a bitter old man who is full of himself

NO, I dont wish it would go on, As it ended , Paul Jr was takeing to much from his father, After all, It was Jr who was the Desiugner and builder that made his father famous, now that they are seperated, Paul Jr Has started his own business and its Called Paul Jr Designs, he is opening his own bike shop and has a lot of crew members that use to work at occ, even his brother mikey is with him, niether of the boys talk to there father after the way he trewated them, thats why none of his sons want anything to do with him, he is a real bastard, he thinks he knows it all, all he knew how to do was to yell and fight as if he knew everything, he beliited his sons, i just hope it comes back to bite him on his ass.

(408) jhbbunch says:

From what I remember at the start of the series, Paul Sr. started the chopper side of the company for his semi-retirement. Paul Jr. was the designer and that was about it. Then the show takes off, the interest kicks in, everyone wants their bikes and it goes big-time corporate. And the business goes from Paul Jr. being the designer to being nothing more than a bit player. The designs were beautiful and elegant when Paul Jr was the designer and Sr. stuck to the office. When the other guys all came in, sorry, the designs became crap. And I’m talking about the overall silhouette of the bike, not the idiotic corporate crap knick-knacks. Like tryng to make the rear-fender of a Caterpillar bike look like a bucket.

It was unfortunate to see Pauli all upset about needing a flowbee. Good lord. Thats for knick-knack crapola. He needs to make clean designs and that’s all. And he needs to stay away from corporate crap bikes. OCC has that nonsense locked up. He needs to design everyday rideable bikes for individuals. OCC is corporate-branded. With zero respect in the real chopper community. Pauli needs to go for respect in that segment of the market. When AC is gone so is the corporate market since they don’t get their payola day in the sun by getting publicity on TV. Wake up Pauli. Real (expensive) bikes for real people (with lots of money) is where your future lies. And change your company name. Paul Jr. Designs? WTF? Are you a gay interior decorator or do you build choppers cause I can’t tell from your company name.

(409) Alex says:

i remember when bike builds took 2 or 3 shows alot more detail was put into the bikes. they may not have looked comfortable but they used to look nice. someone earlier who posted it is right the producers chose to focus on what they did.

and once that brought in that annoying idiot jason pool (who plays up for the cameras and thinks hes funny when hes not) the designs went down hill. doesnt take technology to build really sick bikes just a bikers mind and creativity. this pool guy didnt have that.

(410) Adolph says:

FINALLY this man ,Paul Sr. is free of those sons, FREELOADERS both of them, with his Paul Jr. having terrible workethic, giving an enterprising old man reasonb to fet exited. Mickey is worthless, and got payed by his father for doing almost nothing. Althougn I must admit that Paul jr. had some very good ideas for making bikes to order of themes. He is in business with his father, and think him to be a Rockstar. He now has to do for himself, but still gets Money from OCC as a “partner” which he does not want to loose. Hence the resistance to cut the cord with OCC, as he claims he wants to do.
Paul Sr. had an Iron structure company which he gave to his WORKING other son. Before he gave in to the suggestions or the lesser talented sons to get into this Bike business. which HE built up. His sons got payed VERY well for that, and now claiming they built that company is stupid.
He Paul Sr.,took care of his useless sons, and went into this Bike business. It was HIS talent which built this small business into the enterprise we see today.
I was always surprised how long he took what happened with his sons, and did not get rid of them. When you watch the show, that Paul Jr. always talks about what “his father” doesn’t
know and how good he is. What a joke. I would not have put up with that at all.

Good luck for OCC.

(411) kh says:

Adolph you are dead wrong and also right. Sr did build the business but without Jr’s talent he would have never been more than a little shop in Rock Tavern, NY. Jr’s work ethic had a lot to be desired. But Sr’s management skills are zero. Look at all the talent he has driven off. Screaming and swearing at the top of your lungs is not the way to inspire people. I was watching the POW Bike episode and Sr was talking of all the delays – if it was Jr doing the work he would have been all over him. Instead he said that that was the way things go. I hope OCC continues successfully, but I hope Jr kicks his ass. And if OCC is worth zero then what is the sense in the lawsuit???

(413) Carl says:

I am playing catch-up on Orange Country Choppers…reruns…and I am hooked. There is no doubt Sr. is wrong here. Pauli worked long hours and his creativity is what drew people attention. When I see Sr. try to make a suggestion…its laughable. With Vinny & Pauli back to building bikes…I also would like them to get back to basics and build hardcore bikes for regular guy while also taking on theme bikes (they just landed Geico bike) and the main reason I watch now…is to see Jr business grow and reality to set in with Sr. Cant happen fast enough..but its great tv. Sr. needs to do right thing and pay Jr for his 20% portion of the business and just move on.

September 19, 2010 at 4:38 pm
(414) Babs says:

This is the 1st time watching the show. I am totally disgusted at the way Paul Sr. acts and how he be-littles his kids. This is a person that SHOULD OF “NEVER” HAD ANY CHILDREN if this is how he is going to treat them.
I can not believe that Paul Sr. at his age (61yrs old) spews garbage out of his mouth about his sons. I DO NOT CARE if his sons are lazy (as he states it), YOU “NEVER” PUT YOUR FLESH AND BLOOD DOWN ON TV, PERIOD, SHAME ON YOU PAUL SR, this will come back and bite you in the as*, it’s called karma.
Another thing I’m shocked at, you sabotage your kids, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU THINKING?? These are YOUR boys you moran.
Paul Sr. success has gone to his head, HE IS “NOTHING” WITHOUT HIS CREW, and the way he talks down to them is absolutely disgusting. He comes out of his office with his ball cap on backwards (like a thug) and sunglasses on (indoors) thinking he’s young and cool. I am 50yrs old and still feel like I’m 25 BUT you have to act your age, you are NOT a kid anymore.
If you don’t make a mends with your kids (you’re the parent) you will live to regret it, you might have success but what is success without your kids. I would trade all of our money and belongings to have the great relationship that we have with our son. Paul Sr., I truly feel sorry for you, you’re the one that will loose. You will have a stroke or heart attack and you won’t have anyone there for you except your money. Maybe Jason (your new son as you said) will be there for you.
From one parent to another, my only advice is, make a mends with your sons, drop your lawsuit and grow up and act your age, you’re not a punk, you are a 61yr old father so act like one…….

I have been watching this show for the past 6 months. I can’t agree with senior always shoving his weight around. It may be his money that has built the business to where it is today but it has been juniors ideas. If it weren’t for junior and the crew (Vin and Rick) some of the bikes wouldn’t have looked as awesome as they do. Mike brings a lot to the program, too.
He is so funny and has the personality to make everyone laugh and thus soothes the savage beast (Senior).
I was just watching the last show –or so they say– and I was absolutely aghast to hear Jason say what he said about the radio program. Is he just angry cause he wasn’t asked along by junior? Go JUNIOR. Senior, its time to grow up and admit that you are WRONG. I hope the network keeps showing Paul Jr as he struggles to start on his own.

The Bible says in the later days Parents will turn against their kids and vise versa. Every time I see the show now, it makes me sick wondering what mean thing Sr’s going to try and pull on those 2 guys. This was a great show. IMO Paul Jr will regret one day how he treated his father. First of all you don’t talk back and curse at your Dad that way.It does not matter how Sr talked to his son.Sr has the right,HE IS THE FATHER.he paid his dues over and over again.Jr is just a kid.Sr was trying to show him the right way to run the shop and build bikes and the son acted like a know it all.Can you imagine GOD forbid ,Sr has a heart attack or is rushed to the hospital and is in critical condition ?? How will Jr feel ? All the anger, rage and resentment will mean nothing then.Jr will cry and regret how he treated his Dad.Maybe it will be to late at that point..that will be the penalty that Jr will pay for the rest of his life. All the money and power will never erase that!

i can honestly say that i am probably o.c.c `s greatest uk fan ,i have followed the show from the very begining and watched it grow fantasticly quick, due to the amazing craftsmenship and genuine commitment of these guy`s.
i have never missed a single show, it even made me take bike lessons and get my licence , i now own a 1ooo,cc honda touring motorcycle. i love the show so much that i even flew to new york in january and visited the newburg headquarters ,i was there on the 29th january , my name is in the visitor book and unless i am mistaken i am the only person in the book from the uk.
it was amazing to see so many of the motorcycles, i watched come to life. i thought it could`nt get any better than this, until i found the workshop observation area and there behind the screens was paul snr, rick ,christian, and jim, it was a bit surreal for me actually.
snr seemed to have lost his glow and didnt look as well as i have seen him before. there was a strange atmosphere , something missing ,a bit dissappointing , i had travelled all this way ,yes it was great to see the bikes the factory and the guys who were there, but without jnr and mikey its just not the same.
it would be the greatest thing ever if they could just put the past behind them ,and get back to being the best motorcycle building family in the world. i will allways be a great admirer of them both.

raised in a family buissenes myself, the unfolding events between the father son team were easily pridicdable.as is quite often the case.ie the more capable the son becomes the more thretened the father feels, and tries to make clear {i was doing this long before you,and and i am still the boss}.this only works against what dad says he wants, that being for the second generation to carry on. paul jr. did his best to let it roll off his back.but eventually the lack of respect and constant bajering will have a very negative impact on both the companies morale and progress as well as destroy the family relationship.paul sr.showed his hand clearly, stating i have three sons, and theyre lasy bums.

the old man was worst then a women on her monthly, he had no respect for either one of his sons, he did not like it when they showed him up, please bring back paul jr designs, that will be your tv show that will go places. the viewers will all like for it to return.

It was telling to watch jr. with the geico bike, when he
told mikey to ‘ don’t touch that ‘, made a hoopla about
mikey’s paint on the rocks in the driveway. A different jr, sr.
used to plea with him to set example, be more responsible,
be the role model f/ employees. when the buck f/ the ‘ key in the door’ was coming out of jr’s pocket, then the change came, mikey took one look and said I’m atta here !
It is sad that he could not see the role his father was asking
him to take, make no mistake sr. was a bad messenger and
a bad people person at best but in truth they were in pursuit of the american dream, likeable people, we saw watched and rooted for them because we observed the best and the worst of them and we saw ourselves in them ‘warts and all’ .
It is time to come full circle —in the end, family is everything
and It’ s is time for the Teutel’s to Man-up, with plenty of issues for all, sr. could start with getting at the location of
and diminishing of that rage and anger, it just does not get
the point your trying to put across done, mikey could start
with 86′ing the assistant cum baby-sitter and do the work of ‘ doing ‘ ‘ being ‘ something, jr could start by taking a
look at what it is he has become, when by circumstance he
has had to show up to pay for the key in the door on a daily basis compared to what sr. was trying to get him to do at occ. They all should work on ‘ family ‘ irregardlous of their current marriage’s / relationships — Family the one you
don’t pick, the one you are born into, the one that is for life

If Paul Senior doesn’t want to be involved, then just forget about him, I can enjoy the series with just Paul Jr. and his employees and his company.

This will give Paul Jr. an income beside just building bikes. If the father is not seen on the show, maybe he will get less business, and Paul Jr. will make many more custom bikes and stock bikes for dearlerships, if he can dealerships signed up.

I do not think Paul Snr could work as Paul Jnr does with all the pressure from his Pop. I record the show so I can watch in peace and quiet and skip forward through the bad bits. To me the thrill is in seeing how the bikes turn out and what workmanship goes into them not the tantrums.
Great show keep it going.

The banter between son and father use to be amusing but Paul Sr took it too far. Paul Jr, Vinnie and Mikey were what made the show . Good luck to them in their new ventures. drinking. All your son’s are the problem, right.

I think it’s a real tragedy that this family has been torn to shreds. I’ve just watched the 1st episode in the latest series (in Australia) & I could not believe how Paul Snr. was trashing both of his sons to co-workers at OCC. What the hell is he thinking? He is a disgrace & should be ashamed of himself. I hope he watched himself on OCC & realises what an ass he’s being. On the otherhand Paul Jnr & Mikey are just trying to make a life minus their father. At least they have each other. Good Luck to them!!

Hey Paul Sr and Paul Jr,

I have had the opportunity to watch your TLC series while recovering from lung cancer surgery and for the past six weeks have been watching your show four hours a day, yeah I know, get a life… but it is the life I have right now but my dysfunctional family has stepped up to the plate to help in my recovery. The Discovery Channel has been running the series and I guess from the beginning as I have watched both you and Jr’s success climbing together. It is ashamed that it has gotten to the point that it has but with every success there is failure at some level. One thing I hope that both realize and that is at the end of the day family is family and the core of the family is father and son or daughter and ego and ratings has to be put to the side to keep the core together. Paul you will continue to succeed and Paulie you will also just don’t let what has been lost be lost for FOREVER cuz you just don’t know what will jump up and bit you I the butt.

Hope to see the show continue and in competition with each other and maybe at some point there will be a truce. Paul Sr. you started the business long ago and Paul Jr. enhanced and built on it by his designs but fame has a way of destroying all of it.

Good Luck to both of you!

Orange County Choppers is my favorite TV show. To bad the father is so stubborn and can’t see the love and surrender he should give his kids, looks good that junior is finally finding himself, no one should put up with the abuse he experienced, hope he does well, the show will be sadly missed.

I guess Im a bit late on this being in the UK. We get all the re runs on Quest. I enjoy yhe creation and engineering skils of everyone in OCC. However Snr P. Has no man management skills. Just like Boyd Coddington and Dwayne his side kick. NOBODY in the UK would take any of that bad mouthing from a boss. It shows how low their IQs are by the amount of ‘F’ words used in these shows. There are so many bleeps you lose the dialog.
P, Snr is obsessed by cleaning of the shop. Fair comment. However we always put all our tools away and have a clear up half hour before closing up for the night.
Despite this I miss OCC and American Hotrod. Im waiting for ‘Overhaul’ on freeview.

what made occ, paul sr.’s money, paul jr.’s ideals, or the tv exposure?

Tragedy? The family has broken up? Good grief people, this is all a show. They have the new Jr vs Sr show. AC ran its course. They needed to spice it up. They’ve done that with a manufactured split.

(463) Jorge B says:

I totally agree, paul sr remained sober but kep the same charateristics as when he was a drunk….what jr lacked in work ethic he made up in design and inovation, so hes worth something I can respect. vinnie was the real mechanic/fabricator…rick was the same as vinnie yet they dident get the respect or recognition they deserved…mickey was and still is a walking dead=no skills and over weight with always needing someone to watch over him…I feel bad for micky…the guy to me seems crazy and would make me beleive that he belongs in mental care….he needs to see the reall work of real working people to wake his diva ass up.

Bring back the show. I would like to see if both companies make it or sink. At any rate, it is the best thing on this network. also I would often watch the shows that preceded or followed American Chopper. The channel will lose a lot of viewers on more of the other shows as well. That is why the network should reconsider canceling them. The network is also short sighted, just like Paul Sr. It will hurt them in the long run. Heck, if the canceling is permanent, it already has hurt them. Because I an not looking for American Choppers anymore, I’ll not be watching many of the surrounding (preceding and following) shows anymore as well. It will just work out that way. I think many others will feel like me.

(468) J Mac says:

It was Paul Jr’s visonary design kept us coming back to the show, not the run-of-the-mill bike’s that Sr. could do. SR gets 10 talented people to build a bike, then inflates his own ego by riding to the display, BIG DEAL. The truth is taht it was TLC and Jr that took a small garage company and built it into what it is today.

(469) Effie says:

I liked the show but I never did like the father, Paul Sr. He has an ego that is way out of hand. I watched a show last night where a bus of kids stopped at the new Paul, Jr.’s business and they only commented that yes there were not in competition with Sr. They said nothing negative. Then when they stopped at Sr.’s the father was an arrogant (will not say the rest). He cut down his sons and then claims he loves them. If he really loved them he would have said that he wished his sons success and the best. I hope Paul Jr. and Mikey make a uge success.

(470) bobaboo says:

Lender seeks to foreclose on Orange County Choppers

The lender that financed Orange County Choppers’ new headquarters in the Town of Newburgh has filed a foreclosure action against the company, alleging that it missed its July mortgage payments.
Orange County Choppers has two mortgages through GE Commercial Finance Business Property Corp., one for $11 million and one for $1.5 million.
The foreclosure action claims that the Choppers missed mortgage payments of approximately $96,000 and $14,000 on July 1 and July 27, respectively.
The Choppers stopped making mortgage payments in order to put pressure on the lender to modify the terms of the loans, according to Choppers’ lawyer Richard Mahon. Mahon said that when the property was built in 2007, it was valued at about $12 million. Because of the economic downturn, the building is now worth between $7 million and $8 million, Mahon estimated.
“This is just a bump in the road,” Mahon said. “We believe the parties will reach a resolution and the headquarters will continue in this location.”
The Orange County Industrial Development Agency is also named as a defendant in the action, since it technically owns the property under a payment-in-lieu-of taxes arrangement with Orange County Choppers.

(480) Chris says:

The show has lost its feel as an everyday bike shop with bikes for the everyday punter and Paul jnr thinks he`s a rock star or something, he whines like Charlie brown with his monotone analytical two cents worth being put in about why his father is wrong and he is right, but at the end of the day if he showed his old man some respect and towed the line the show would be still running and he would be next in line for the occ empire.(GREED!!!) Paul Snrs Dedication and daily effort have put occ where it is today not Jnr turning up for a photo shoot having a whine and storming off the set, if i was his father i would give him a serve as well,he sets a bad example for the rest of the shop and in the world of business if your the bosses son you have to be a leader by setting a good example for others in the business instead he is a prima donna, spoilt rotten bosses son.
Paul Jnr isn`t a designers left boot, none of these bikes could be ridden at any sort of speed or on a track so if design is his specialty go the ford Edsel!!! But they are very pretty aren`t they?

I don’t know the family, but I do know that TV only shows the drama. They are going to show all the bad things or things that get people to watch. Sr. and Jr. probably do have issues but, WE as viewers are not going to see everything that goes on. The show may have started out about a bike building company but quickly switched gears when they figured out that the personalities were a better story. I was always interested in the fabrication and design but that all went to hell when these people decided they could act. Keep the show on,,,focus on the bikes and the process of making a true piece of art,,,and throw in a little drama every now and then.

(483) Uncle Freddy says:

I just saw the show after not seeing it for 5 or 6 years. Paul Sr has obviously quit using Steroids, so perhaps to control his Roid-Rage tantrums, but has become delusional in the process and now looks like a decrypted deflated old has-been with major mental health issues who can’t even work with his fumbling hands any longer. They’ll find this sick broken-down nutcase all alone in his house next summer after OCC goes chapter 7 & 11 with a shotgun in his mouth. Nobody will miss that abusive bully … not his soon to be ex-wife … not even his current OCC ass-kiss-brown-noser employees he bad-mouths his family to on a daily bases like Jim, Steve, Mike & Jason. Is OCC getting the boot from that giant pink-elephant shop Sr built that sits on the south-bound side of the NYS Thruway as we speak?

(486) Dutch says:

It seems clear the family has problems, but I have to wonder how much of this drama on the show is real. For example, Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. had a big fight on the episode when Paul Jr. was fired. Does anyone believe that was not scripted? The camera crew had to be told to be in Paul Sr.’s office as a specific time in order to film that argument. I can’t imagine those guys would allow something that sensitive to be filmed unless they were trying to boost ratings and keep the show going.

There is no way OCC would have its level of success without ‘American Chopper’. I suspect the show drives much of what really happens. I don’t believe OCC is any better at building bikes than many other shops. They just got lucky that a TV show wanted to film them.

I enjoyed this series for years. However, it has become a joke. It is more about drama than motorcycles. What family would expose such painful experiences to the whole world… unless they were whores for the network that films their program.

‘American Chopper’ needs to be put out of its misery.

I know I’m not crazy, yet I disagree with most of the comments wrtten here. All families, that are close and that love each other, have arguments and disagree often. I think that Paul Sr. Is a terrific man. Sure he is tough on his kids, but he has a huge heart. If Paul Jr. would have just apologized for being late, said “dad you’re right, I’m sorry” more often the tension perhaps wouldn’t have escalated. Paul Sr. needed and deserves respect for his hard work building the business. I know like I sound like a pop psychologist but respect and gratitude can really go a long way. Paul JR is terrific too. Poor Mikey stuck in the middle. Anyone that values family can see the love and admiration they all have for each other. Look at the way they treat grandma! You can’t fool me, these are all good men needing and deserving different things from each other. God bless them for all of the charitable philanthropic things they do. They are good to the core. I HOPE. You can’t Ffool me.(: I’m usually right. I wish them nothing but joy and success.

(490) Ozark says:

I think. PAUL Jr and SR. Are just alike. You teach your kids to be independent not disrespectful. Jr had to argue his point every time. If SR had Just backed down and let Jr have his way then he would be the man Jr wanted him to be. A father shouldn’t have to swallow his pride so his son can be the head cheese. If Jr had earned respect by showing up on time and respecting the man That gave him everything then the family would be healed. Instead Jr keeps all of the rest of the family away acting like he is innocent In the whole thing. It takes two to fight And Jr has no respect for anyone including himself. Too bad They need each other.

(498) Big Chief47 says:

Well, the family is either dysfunctional or as sly as a den of fox! Either way the constant put downs and disagreements was very tiresome, very quick!

Paul, the father, was way too overbearing and way to prone to cursing; if he had shown some class and earned his sons’ respect as the business senior partner he would have got more done and had more fun. However, Paul, the younger, should have shown up for work on time AND shown more respect for his dad’s business methods.

However, it is also very possible most of this is just fodder and grist for the TV show mill, which, is after all, what made all these yokels semi-famous in the first instance!

Yet, these bikes fired the imagination with varied and multi-themed creations that literally grabbed one’s imagination and shouted unique, different, solid, sporty and dollars, dollars.

Times change, people change and business changes or stagnates.

The sad part is the fact that Paul, the father, is (or seems to be) estranged from several of his children.

I’ve recently heard that Vinny may be working with or collaborating with Paul, the son! Anyone hear what Cody is doing? I’ve also heard, but can’t confirm, that Vinny and Cody have been seen in a small pub/restaurant in rural Washington County, NY!

Personally, I hope the Teutul sons and dad patch up the personal, if not the business relationships. My own dad and I were close for many years as adults and I can’t imagine the guilt I’d have if it were any other way! I can’t imagine how the father or sons would feel if an accident or worse befell the other side of this family disagreement!

So on the 3rd day of 2011, my fervent wish is that the Teutuls’ are once again family BECAUSE that is the most important aspect of living!

I have watched OCC since the beginning. It is a shame that Paul Tuttle SR.has not realized that life is too short, and family is everything. When you run a business you don’t fight and argue with your son’s in front of your employees, you take it outside. It seems to me that Paul SR is blaming his son’s and using them as an excuse for his own failings. What type of father sues his own son? This family needs some professional help. Paul SR needs to swallow his pride and try to work things out with his sons. It takes a real man to look at himself and say I am not perfect and what I have done is not wright. Paul SR swallow your pride and make things wright with your family. Stop acting like a spoiled child.

They should be very ashamed of themselves for not being real men and fessing up to their shortcomings and working together to patch things up.

I would never, ever raise my children to be like either of those guys, I would raise a son to be like Mikey, he is the ONLY one who is the real man of the bunch!

Both of the Teutels should take a hard fall and learn to be more humble and forgiving to each other, GROW UP BOTH OF YOU!!! Act like men!!! Your egos need a serious reality check. And so do your hearts…..it’s disgusting to see how they act, overegoed boys is what they are!!! Grow Up!!!

I think they should do a show just on Paul Jr. FORGET Orange County Choppers.. His dad is a JERK!! Any father that wishes bad for his son derserves NOTHING!!! I know I want the WORLD for my son..Lets see some REAL bikes being made!! Not computer generated!! that is what I think will sell the show.. BIKES BEING MADE, NOT Drama between Father and Son.. MOVE ON TLC!! I think people are tired of seeing Paul Sr. crying about things and sueing his son about everything.. LETS SEE THE BIKES BEING MADE!! I think that is what hurt them the first place is TLC started to make the show about traveling to Europe and Australia instead of BUILDING BIKES!! I do know that DRAMA sells but this is OVER!!!

I enjoyed the style and design, but Sr’s continous yelling made me turn the channel. He’s a little throwing a sissy fit. Continues to talk negative whereas Jr has class and doesn’t. Yeah, Jr. should not have taken advantage of being late, it burst Sr’s bubble. Sr’s always looking for a fight and Jr was always in his sites. Sr. all the wrong you did is cominig back at you, should you lose your shirt. I’m ready to buy my chopper after raising my little girl up for the last 19 years. I just might be contacting Jr. He’s got automation and future and a side order of being cockie, but he earned it.

I think Paul Sr. is a greedy, 2 faced ass that will stop at nothing to be on top no matter who he has to step on to be there. Sr. wants his slice of the pie & more. If it weren’t for the boys being on the show, I wouldn’t watch at all & I’ve been a loyal, weekly watcher from show #1. I’d rather see the whole show come back totally without Sr. & OCC.
If OCC closes, its going to be very interesting to see who all from OCC lines up at Jr’s door for a job!

I enjoyed the show, the building of the bikes and the bickering were good in the begining, as the show progressed it started to become sorry. But as Paul Jr. stated in the later seasons, ” Your gonna bury the busines”, and Sr. did. Now senoir and his kiss a** yes men can start looking for new employment, Bahahahahaha. I feel sorry for Rick, Christen and the office personal and the OCC store employee’s

Paul Sr has had it coming, he has done nothing but disrespect his own children. Paulie is the one who actually designed the theme bikes, but Sr wants to take credit for all of it. If he was my dad, I wouldn’t even show up at his funeral, well maybe to take a crap on him. A FATHER DOES NOT TREAT HIS KIDS LIKE THAT, and A KID NEVER FORGETS!

January 24, 2011 at 10:31 pm
(522) Rose says:

I think it is sad to have watched the family come this far and now that Paul, Jr. is about to start a new future, we will not be able to see his journey. We have been loyal fans and the biggest difference I see between Jr. and Sr. is that when you watch PJD segments you come away feeling good and wanting more. However, when you watch Sr’s segments, you see a freightened little man struggling to hold onto his possessions, his business and his family. It is not uplifting or fun to watch his demise. Sadly, he represents the past and PJD now represents the future.

I say TLC give Paul Jr. the same chance as you did his father. We deserve the right to see Pauley’s future in his business and in his personal life.

TLC will definitely lose an opportunity if they let the show end this way. The fan base is there, so please continue the adventure…

(524) Chris says:

I enjoyed the show over the years. I was especially interested this year as I could relate to the dysfunction with my own family and father. Regardless, some scenes were simply uncomfortable to watch especially when they were verbally bashing each other, which to me is somewhat unrecoverable. I hope TLC finds a way to keep them on the schedule without having to feel the pain.

January 24, 2011 at 10:58 pm
(525) Chris says:

Although I agree Sr’s is a handful and there is plenty of blame to go around, Jr’s is and was the real problem. No one is more arrogant and full of himself than Jr. Jr would not even be building bikes if his father did not own the company. How hard is it to show up at work on time and do your job. After 10 years can he even built a bike on his own. (without Vinny)
Everybody talks about Sr, but if I wanted my father to come to my wedding, I would have picked up the phone and called him. Not just had my girlfriend drop an invite in the mail.
Don’t even get me started about “blame my father for everything” Mikey.
The only thing I agree on is the show should have gotten to just building bikes.

January 25, 2011 at 1:52 am
(526) Tom P. says:

What are you talking about??? Can Jr build a bike on his own? You really think Sr can make a full bike, the man get confused putting on the fenders… you know what that’s it you made me a pro choice advocate now because you & Sr obviously came from the same gene pool.

(528) Marc says:

I liked the show when it first started because there was nothing like it on TV but after a few of the shows it just digressed into Sr ranting at Jr with Mikey being the comic relief. The bikes were really not that much to talk about, just bolt on aftermarket parts with some styling cues from who ever was paying for the bike being built, the true artists at OCC were Vinnie, Rick and Nubs. If you want true custom bike building with innovative design and fabrication check out the Biker Build Off shows. those are one of a kind works of art that were baddass. Sr needs to look in the mirror and admit he was wrong, when every one of your kids hates you, even ones not on the show, that should tell you something right off.

(529) russ says:

The show has been very intriging for the last 3yrs I’ve been watching it..very entertaining in many ways and great to talk about to many people I know that follow the show….butttttttttt..Paul Sr’s act is old and you could tell after his son was gone, or sons, he was lost for many reasons. Least of all, the lashings he gave Jr week after week. His fame has definitely got to his ego and loves what all the lime lite has brought to his life..but look at the cost, like many before him, no sons, no daughter, no grandkids, and exwife..which all adds up to “How great is life without being able to share it with the ones you care most about”, and that doesn’t mean the guys you work with, and their familys. Mikeys life is definitely under control..yea right!!! He thinks he’s the only one in his position in life and that he can’t figure out why, noones there to care for all of his needs..and no, drugs and booze are not the reasons..but they almost make for good excuses, if they were only original. Get a life and it isn’t in art or comedy for you and never will be, wake up and go mow your fathers and brothers lawns or something..be productive for God’s sake…As for Jr…there’s no question that his life is a result of his fathers being..butttttttttt he has and will make it very well on his own, and has definitely proven without his fathers attention or direction..like his father wants to believe… Oh well, life goes on for the rest of us worker warts and will continue with or without the show continuing in any capacity..it’s been good and I do think Jr can carry his own show..I’ll watch it and I know my friends will also..and most of all I do hope the family resolves all and gets back into a relationship with the oldman..after all, he is and was the one who can say he started all of their lives and they wouldn’t be where their at without him..Give up and make up PAUL’S.

It is sad when a family has these kind of problems. I see that both sides are guilty of the problems. People want to judge before they have all the facts. lets try not to forget that without daddy’s hard earned cash his son would not even be into bikes. Not saying a father should bitch out his kids like that, but come on Dad worked hard and just asked his kid to show up on time, never threw it in his face that it was his Hard Earned Money that got the whole thing going… The son always had a smug attitude and even on the show Vince complained about Paul never being on time.. Ehhh
hope it all works out for them! The Man loved his dogs, dogs give you unconditional love. Maybe Paul Sr. Just needs love from his kids and maybe a little gratitude. He had a hard life did hard drugs and is likely mentally fried to a crisp. Give the old man a break. Be Well All !!

What a joke of a grown man & father, not only does he spend all of his air time complaining about Paul Jr & kick lawsuits at him, but the real kicker is that his kids don’t even talk about him 95% of the time because they don’t even want to waste there breath on such a waste of human life. I’m Jewish & I would rather have Hitlers autograph tattooed on my forehead than to see you succeed in life.

Even though Paul Sr won his battle with alcoholism, he obviously did not work out his anger issues. It seems odd that he has no relationship with ANY of his sons. What does that tell one? Nevertheless, I wish him and his family the best. I would like to see the show continue but it is upsetting to see the constant badgering back and forth between the family. Perhaps, it’s in the best interests of the Teutels if the show ends so that they can sort out their family problems without all of us watching it every week on TV. Good luck to Paul Sr, Paul Jr and Mikey. I do hope you all work out your problems and thank you for your show the past 8 or 9 years.

I would love to see a show with Vinnie, Rick, and Cory.
I always thought they were the real “fabbers” in that shop.
They (Vinnie and Rick) were the ones that were always pulling OCC’s fat out of the fire. And I think Cory would do well with those two as mentors.

As for OCC, there are faults on both sides,
Jr. (spoiled brat)
Sr. (as a “leader of a family” Montor to your children); humility is a great thing, find some and man up to your faults, and move ahead set the example.

I have been a fan since the first show and have followed the demise of the Tuttle family. I believe that Sr. needs help and should really look at the possibility of some real intervention. As you watch the show you can’t help but respect Jr. and Mickey for their real patients. The way Sr. slaps and berates others is so unconformable I have found myself really disliking Mr. Tuttle. He gets exactly what he deserves; I do pray that he gets help before he finds himself alone and penniless.

(541) Jim D. says:

I loved the show.
Sr. is actually a good guy, but frustrated by his ego-maniacal
son. Watch how many times Jr. has been “absent” or “unavailable”.
The most common line in the show is, “we’ll finish it in the morning”.
Jr. is talented, but too self-absorbed.
Mikey is just a dope.

Fun while it lasted.

(545) Doug says:

You have to agree they came up with a nitch in the industry that no other bike builders were doing. They sold the “theme bike” idea to major corporations which in return got them 1-2 hours of free advertising while the bike build aired. Then the corporation would raffle off the bike as a donation towards some charity. It was a win win situation for all parties involved. That whole scenario was what made the show so successful and worth while. The reality drama, ego part of it is what destroyed the family and eventually the show and the business. It was a time bomb just waiting to go off. Its no surprise, it was inevitable. Jr. was the fuse and Sr. was the bomb.
I will agree that making a show just about JR. would be enjoyable to watch and I would have to take asprin afterwards.
It would be great to see him start from the beginning and watch him grow as a business and a man.
I dont want to have to watch Mythbusters anymore.

It is about time the American Chopper show should be put to rest. This show was good when it first aired. The show was all about the Teutuls building awsome custom motorcycles. Now American Chopper is a stupid soap opera. The show is based on family feuding, and other non cutom chopper related noncence. Pleas I’m tired of watching these guys argue. I dont want to watch the Teutuls sob at a psychiatrist about there family problems. Give it up already.

(548) Larry Baker says:

I would really like the show to continue, however, I am sure Paul Sr would do well out of the picture, Sr. complained about Jr. not being on time or trying to dodge work but he came through biggest part of the time. how could Sr. make a big deal out of jr. laziness when Micky didn’t get out of bed before noon let alone show up for work, A real father don’t expect more out of one than the other, Sr.’s constent horse-play with Mikey during shop time and any time he needed a laugh was ok but if Paul Jr
tried to drag his heals a little he makes a big deal out of it. Sr. just wants Mickey back cause he can control him, how can a father teach is kids good thing with a nasty remark and not a praise for done good! Sr’s four letter words that have to be blimp out every other sentence make you under stand where is mind is . i would like to see Jr. grow in a new business with Vinnie , Rick, Cody, not just choppers but something like Scooters , alternative electic Trikes! good luck PJD!!!!!!!!!

(549) Richie says:

There is only one reason why the whole thing has come to an end. It is because of Jason “the graphics guy” or should I quote Sr. “the son I wish I had”. They should have stuck him in the office and never let him out behind that stupid door made of bars.

I am going to miss the show, especially the paint jobs on these bikes. These painters are blessed with a talent some just dream of.
I pray that the Paul Sr. and Jr. settle their differences. It should have never gone this far and to see it unfold on television. This is not what family is all about. Settle your differences and move on! This is something that may seperate this family for the rest of their lives. It’s not worth it.

(551) Roy Houston says:

Sad to see a family ripped apart. I loved the early seasons. Being involved in a family business my whole life, i can sympathize with Paul Jr. Early on, I cant help but think TLC pushed the feuding between Sr. and Jr. to boost ratings which ultimately seems to be the death of “American Chopper” on TLC. The problem was everybody was making money = GREED and PRIDE

Best Wishes to Sr and Jr, TLC has made a mint of them. Sad to see TLC kick them to the curb. Im sure Dr. Phil has his eyes on them.

I got run off the road 8 years ago while riding a motorcycle and am a paraplegic but I still love watching. I just want to sit down and watch them build cool bikes.
We all have our own feelings on which one is right sr or jr. I personally think Sr is right you know he did start the bussines and he is the boss I think jr is just a spoild kid that thinks he can do whatever he wants to and whenever he wants to. Whatever happened to respecting your parents. Sr is his dad and is jr boss .GET over it jr!! If they would just get back to what they know and thats building bikes quit acting like babys and work as a team it would be a great show again and they would have a heck of a bussiness. Jr Sr is your dad and you only have one dont blow it and wait till its to late MAKE up with him!!!!

I really could care less about the show.It might have suppose to have been a show about custom built motorcycles, but with EVERY show…it was nothing more than a pissing contest in which both Sr. and Jr. should have their asses kicked. That crap gets old…the little temper tantrums by both of them and I think that most of the people that watched this show were getting tired of it also. These two clowns killed the show by themselves. BTW, it appears that Sr is going to be in foreclosure soon…as if I care. The sad part is that the guys that worked for Sr. might be out of a job pretty soon.

I believe Jr acted the way he did as Sr was ALWAYS ragging on him no matter what he did. And, yea, I, too, would probably not want to go to work on time or look for ways to leave if my dad ragged on me like Sr did. The design genius is Jr. Sr just likes to look over shoulders, slam the door in his office, bitch about his son, and look for ways to denegrate him ALL of the time while declaring “I’m the victim here!” Jr doesn’t talk about Sr like that at all, which impressed me as he appears to be a lot more mature than Sr is or ever was.

As a long time viewer, I’m going to miss the show. It’s to bad that great talent has to be wasted on egos. Sr. has a temper that’s out of control. When your whole family doesn’t want anything to do with you, maybe they’re right. My father taught me that there are 2 types of respect: Earned Respect and Forced Respect.

Sr, Jr, Vinnie, Rick, and all the rest of the cast, thanks for sharing your talents. Sr, get some counseling and stop playing the victom!

January 30, 2011 at 2:46 pm
(566) Richard says:

I think the American Chopper family is a sad tale and when you can look back at early shows again your perspective evolves to give a more true live overview than just the scripted events of a single show.
I looked at the Craftsman bike build and several susequent shows and was almost sickened as the Paul Sr and Jr. conned Sears Craftsman out of thousands of dollars worth of tools …. of which Sr and Jr took TWO complete sets, one for the shop and one for their home … totally disgusting. What was left of the tools presented by Craftsman was divided amongst the ACTUAL workers only after the two clowns who can’s add or subtract basic fractions plundered free tools !

I also marvelled as they built a bike for the outdoorsman company and the OCC plunderers ransacked the local company store of tens of thousands of dollars worth of equipment so the OCC entourage could spend ONE night in the wilderness on a camp lot owned by senior.

And lets not forget the inference that these bikes are built with craftsmanship and professionalism, anything Jr or Sr touched was driven right into the realm of hack job. I cringed watching Vinnie respond to the situation where Jr ripped apart a ball socket allen as he used it in an Impact gun and THEN had the Hack Master gall to say to Vinnie “Fix this for ME” as he walked off camera in complete embarrasment. I could see the utter disgust in Vinnies eyes as he spent the next hour or so FIXING the sheered allen head from the bolt.

I do think the only guys who were any good are Vin and Rik. Who cares about Paul Sr and his lack of manners, and Paul Jr with the rubbish he built.

I think it was time for the show to go. In my opion the best bike building show was southern steel [ milwaukee iron ] Bring it back that was real bike building.

I love watching the creation of these amazing bikes, would definitely watch a show focused on PJD. His creativity and vision are what I enjoyed most. Bring them back!

The show was never about the bikes it was always about the people ..As a father you have to mold your kids into what you would like them to be and act and show them how to look at life and on and on.. Dad’s job, so Sr. look what you made a mess. So sad just lot’s of unhappy people walking around . They had it all. Not the first time I have seen this ..I have seen the same the same thing in a famely I know ..I just don’t get it.. Sorry I guess I am a dumb ass . I’m happy so if your sad do something about it …

I just started watching this show Jan 2011, I loved looking at the bikes. It wasn’t long before I thought what is wrong with this guy Paul Sr. he sure has mental problems, needs a analyst, quick. After reading about them in Wiki I guess he’s like that because of the drugs. I wish his son Junior all the best. Move far away from the source of your antagonism for a better life. I can see why his wife would leave him after four kids, his temper is something else.
