The Big Brother houseguests have been sent back to the real world -- and one of them is $500,000 richer! The Big Brother 12 winner was revealed during the show's season finale on Wednesday night. Here's a 30 second recap of how it all went down:
- Lane and Hayden competed in the live final HOH competition, which was a quotation quiz about the members of the jury.
- Hayden won HOH, which means he had to select who else would go to the final two -- Enzo or Lane. His choice? Lane. (He thought Enzo had been a better social player, so he didn't want to risk losing to the Meow Meow.)
- Before the live show, the jury members deliberated in the jury house about which contestant deserved the top prize. In the end, each juror chose the player that they felt played the best game overall.
So, who won Big Brother 12? The Big Brother winner is college student Hayden Moss.
Here's a breakdown of the votes:
Rachel - Lane
Kathy- Hayden
Matt - Hayden
Brendon - Lane
Ragan - Hayden
Britney - Lane
Enzo - Hayden
Hayden isn't the only contestant who walked away with a prize. Britney won $25,000 for being America's Favorite Houseguest. Britney will need all the financial help she can get right now. People magazine reports that her home burned down early Wednesday morning.

I thought Lane should have won, but Hayden won allot of comps so he played hard to get where he was. The last person I wanted to win was Enzo, I couldnt even believe he mae it to the final 5…or 6 for that matter. He won ONE comp an rubbed it like a sore winner in Ragans face…LOVE YOU RAGAN..so in conclusion, I can live with this years winner!! <3 you LANE!!! and GOOO BRIT for winning the money. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!!
Congratulatiions Hayden. Great Big Brother year! Britney, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you.
I loved Lane from the beginning and thought he would and should have won. He was down to earth and a really great guy. I am so glad Brittnay won the 25,000. and I am so sorry that her house burned down she will need all the help she can get.
You erase what you put up there I did not say any o f that who do you think you are. Get it off.
Yes Hayden deserved to win! I have watched this show religiously from the beginning. I was rooting for Enzo for a while, but changed my mind after I saw he was not so competitive in the challenges. However, a part of me still wanted him to win……family guy and all. Lane is a nice funny guy, but do we really want to see the rich guy get richer? Trust me he will be fine……family oil business! So, Hayden is the all around nice American guy. He played fair and was loyal to his Brigade (except to Matt, but he deserved to GO)! I think it becomes a numbers game at some point. Hayden definately had the lucky number in the end and he played very well over all……good for him!
im glad Lane didnt win, his family already has money they are in the oil business, he shouldnt have even won 50000, let someone else win who needed it more
so horny for lane
Better Hayden than Lane. Lane’s only income is schmoozing rich guys on the fairway for his father’s oil company. He doesn’t need the money AT ALL. Too bad Enzo didn’t win some challenges. He isn’t a silver spoon baby like some of the others on there. I wish Big Brother would nix competitors from upper class families and leave the money to be won by those who could really use it.
kristin-bryan you’re a really classy pig. I doubt Lane would do anything but throw pennies at you on your curb.
That said, neither Lane nor Hayden should have won, nice guys are not. Both are richies who won’t use even a scrap of the money for anything good like helping people who have far less than they do. Someone should have asked them that question straight up. Lane doesn’t even have a real job. He’s supported by his dad. Hayden goes to school but does he work? No. His parents pay for everything. Enzo worked the game really well. I think if America knew he wasn’t going to win he’d have gotten the favorite vote.
Quit hating on rich people and complaining that they don’t deserve it or won’t do anything good with it. Who cares if they work for their family busines or are in school and parents are paying for everything..that’s not their fault. Those guys played the game well and that’s all that should matter. Not everyone that is successfull should be guilted into giving it away to people who are less successful. Move to Cuba if you want others to take care of you. That being said, you have no clue what these guys or their families do for charitable donations nor should you be the judge of that. Don’t judge and don’t resent others for their success and you’ll be much happier….in fact, go do something productive and be successful at it yourself and you might not have all these negative feelings towards anyone with money.
I love Britney. She was the best looking girl that ever competed in Big Brother. Rachel was the worst looking and a Kook at that.
I rarely check BB out anymore, because all the contestants are the same young caucasian bunch. Give me a well rounded cast. How about Celebrity BB. Get us Wanda Sykes, Jerry Stiller, Anne Coulter, Diana Ross, New Gingrich, the Donald etc. -maybe we’ll get to see some crazy stuff that would be worth talking about the next day.
Its so easy to see what retards even watch this show from the comments. Total losers, the show was boring and had no spunk this year, what ever happened to mixing it up.
I agree totally with Mr Doo. I say we put Obama, Rev Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Oprah in the house with Sarah Palin, Glenn Beck, Newt Gingrich, and Jan Brewer. Now that would be a heck of show for 3 months!! hahahaha
Glenn Beck would win it ALL!!!!!!!
This is not a socialistic game. Wealthy people have a right to become more wealthy. Spreading the wealth is for socialist countrys and right now we are still not a socialist country. Who ever deserves to win should have won and Hayden played the best game. Thank God for parents that still pay for college for their children.
If you watched the show you know Hayden had a lot of student loans to pay back, so he wasn’t being supported by his parents. I feel you have to judge the game by who played the best, and social is only a part of it. Competitions as well as all the stradagies also is a big part. Having said that, I do believe Hayden deserved the win.
Latoya,
Where can I email you information about an up and coming reality tv event?
My contact address is realitytv.guide@about.com. Thank you!
Who really cares?
Heck yeah Hayden deserved to win he brought one home for little old queen creek!!!
I thought this was the most boring season of BB. Four guys had control of the house from the beginning so I knew they would be there in the end. No other alliances formed to make it competitive.
Rachel was a nightmare to watch. I’ve never watched a more annoying woman in this shows history.
For once, I really didn’t care who won. I’m ok with who did as he seems like a nice guy. I thought Britney said it right, it became a game of numbers and the brigade had it the entire time.
Well said Marilyn, it was the most boring season of all. Th show really needs to mix it up with older people and more dramatic ones like evil dick. I like to watch a show with some real competition and drama.
How about all of you who even comented talking about big brother, get a life and realize its ridiculous to even watch shows like this. Geez, I googled “who won state elections” and I got this BS. Im not putting latoya down for writing about this, Its her job! But all of you others who have nothing better to do with your time? Get a REAL life not a one where you live through other people.
