After being postponed, Celebrity Rehab With Dr. Drew is returning this summer--without the celebrities.

VH1 has announced that it will air Rehab with Dr. Drew, a spin-off that is just like Celebrity Rehab; but instead of celebrities, the series will feature everyday addicts without name-recognition.

Set at the Pasadena Recovery Center the new show will focus on people in their 20s and 30s.

In a press release, VH1 executive Jeff Olde said, "This show has always resonated with our viewers but we feel this expanded format will hold up a mirror to our core audience and hopefully give them some new insight to this disease that touches almost everyone--whether they are struggling with addiction themselves or know someone who is."

The decision may reflect the criticism the show has attracted. That criticism peaked last year just before Season Five--following the death of Celebrity Rehab alum, Jeff Conway. Or maybe they've just run out of celebrities willing to melt down on TV.

Their will always be celebs needing rehab and publicity. With this change it’s going to be more reality tv, showing how big this problem really is, not only in celeb circles..
