This week reality shows gave us lots to talk about. First The Voice returned for three nights of blind auditions and a third season with some new twists:

  • Instead of 12 singers, the coaches/judges will chose 16.
  • During the battle rounds, when singers go head to head with their teammates, there is a new option that allows judges to pick up two of other judges' eliminated contestants.
  • There will also be a new stage of competition--a knockout round--which will see the teams narrowed from 10 members each to five.

X  Factor returned with new judges, pop star Britney Spears and former Disney star Demi "Give Your Heart A Break" Lovato. For some reason, X  Factor producers have allowed Britney Spears superfans/burgeoning stalkers onto the stage more than once, leaving the singer shaken and us to wonder why they'd put the new  judge in this position.

America's Got Talent wrapped Season seven by crowning  Olate Dogs the winners. Arguably the winning talent was actually the dogs, not their South America-born trainer. This season has led me to question if America has run out of talent.

American Idol has finally finalized their judge search with pop star Mariah Carey, rapper Nicki Minaj (despite her contract with Pepsi that could conflict with Idol's Coca-Cola backers ), country music star Keith Urban joining returning judge Randy Jackson (who will not be switching his role to mentor as previously suggested).

Blind Masterchef contestant Christine Ha proved she was far more than a ratings ploy by winning the cooking competition with her superior palette.

What do you think of the new Idol judges? America's Got Talent's winners? The Voice changes? X Factor's auditions? Masterchef's finale? Share your opinions.
