Speaking at a conference today, Disney's Chief Financial Officer, Jay Rasulo said the Dancing With the Stars All Star season wasn't a good idea; and he accused fans of preferring to watch bad dancers.
Rasulo said that ABC's parent company originally thought an All Star season was "a great idea," but it garnered poor ratings because Season 15's contestants were all previous winners and other competent dancers.
"Turns out people didn't want to see people who could dance. They wanted people who couldn't dance. "
Rasulo further complained that the season finale "didn't work out." Ratings for the Season 15 finale were up 50% from the previous week, but down 27 percent from the previous season.
What do you think? Did Rasulo get it right? Was the problem with the DWTS All Star season that there were too many talented dancers? If you didn't watch Season 15, why not?
