A&E's Storage Wars has become one of the network's most watched reality shows (just behind Duck Dynasty) and has spawned two regional spin-offs: Storage Wars: Texas (which launched December 2011) and Storage Wars: New York, which premieres January 1st.
While the original's Southern California location offered the tantalizing prospects of stumbling upon some Hollywood celebrity's belongings (like the Paris Hilton storage unit auctioned off some years ago) and Texas promised the ill gotten gains of oil barons; Storage Wars: New York has the potential of unveiling uniquely historical and antique items.
A&E also promises that the new series will distinguish itself from previous versions because the Big Apple will itself be a character. (Plus there are two female bidders shaking up the boys club.)
