The 28th season of MTV's The Real World--which premieres March 27--is set in Portland, Oregon.
Real World Portland features eight strangers who become roommates and then become friends, have sex and/or fight with each other.
Past seasons of Real World have involved police investigations (for example into allegations of sexual assault on 2004's Real World San Diego) and allegations that producers engineer drama. But the show has also had positive moments, perhaps none more than the Real World San Francisco's Pedro Zamora, who was not only openly gay but open about being HIV+. Zamora's appearance on The Real World is credited with helping to change cultural views about gays and those living with AIDS.
Only time will tell what Real World Portland will become known for. But producers have already acknowledged that one of the cast members leaves early. Over the past 28 seasons, a fair number of housemates have left early due to conflicts with other roommates or personal reasons (illness, marriage, homesickness and not wanting to fall off the wagon), so it's hardly unheard of, but it does hint at a certain level of drama to come.
While you wait for Real World Portland to begin, Wednesday, March 27 at 10PM Eastern/Pacific, check out the cast and try to figure out who will sleep with who and which housemate will leave before the season comes to a close.
