In addition to the return of favorites like Real Housewives of Orange County, Don't be Tardy and Storage Wars, April 2013 features the launch of a dozen new reality shows. Here are some of the most interesting: (Times Eastern/Pacific unless otherwise noted.)

  • Forever Young In this Ashton Kutcher produced show, five young people share a house with five people over 70. Inter-generational hijinks ensue. (Premiered April 3, 2013 on TV Land, airs Wednesdays 10PM.)
  • The Kandi Factory Grammy Award winner and The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kandi Burruss helps 16 aspiring artists jump-start their careers. (Premieres tonight, April 9 on Bravo; airs Tuesdays at 10PM)
  • Ready for Love Three matchmakers help bachelors find love from 36 competing bachelorettes. (Premieres tonight, April 9 on NBC--after The Voice; airs Tuesdays at 9/8PM Central).
  • Life with LaToya This new show follows Michael Jackson's eccentric little sister LaToya. But don't expect a lot of Jackson family dirt--and not just because LaToya insists an assistant wipe any surface she might touch. (Premieres April 13 on OWN; airs Saturdays 10:30PM.)
  • Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown Chef and travel guide Anthony Bourdain invades the CNN news channel where he'll explore cultures around the world "through the prism of dining traditions." (Premieres April 14 on CNN; airs Sundays 9PM.)
  • Off Pitch A show choir in Wisconsin, the Grand River Singers, is on a quest to reach the Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival. (Premieres April 17 on VH1; airs Wednesdays at 10PM.)
  • Raising Whitley When actress and comedienne Kym Whitley (who starred in the short-lived sitcom Animal Practice) adopts a child at the drop of a hat, hilarity ensues. (Premieres April 20 on OWN; airs Saturdays at 10PM.)
  • Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life This show focuses on the life of pop star Ke$ha. (Premieres April 23 on MTV; airs Tuesdays at 11PM.)
  • Giving You The Business Employees, selected by their CEO, unknowingly compete to win their own food franchise. (Premieres April 25 on Food Network; airs Thursdays at 10PM).

Also, check out I Love Jenni, which will either be inspirational, depressing or offensive. Although Mexican-American singer Jenni Rivera died in a plane crash in December 2012, the reality show she stared in returns with a)unseen footage from the days before her death and b)images of her children trying to cope with the loss of their mother. (Premieres April 14 on mun2; airs Sundays 9PM).
