Ace Young Says He Would "Step In Front of A Moving Train" For Chris Daughtry
As far as we know, there have been no contestant romances behind the scenes of American Idol this season. But a beautiful friendship was apparently formed between eliminated Idol Ace Young and judges' favorite Chris Daughtry. Ace even says if Chris had been the one to receive the least amount of votes on Wednesday night, he would have offered to leave instead.
"[I would step in his place] any day of the week," Ace told reporters on a conference call after his elimination. "Chris and I, we have a lot in common and he’s a very good man. He’s what you want in a marriage as far as very direct and loyal guy. And [his wife] Dianna is very lucky to have him and she knows that and she’s adorable.
"And he and I really clicked," Ace continued. "We clicked from the beginning just because we kind of have the same upbringing. We’re big on family; we’re big on people. And he, just like me, can’t wait to get to the fan base. I mean, I can’t wait to shake hands with my fans and give them hugs and say thank you for getting me to number seven. But any day of the week I’d step in front of a moving train for that guy."
Wow, that's deep. I guess this Idol friendship was meant to be.

I think that its great to have such awesome performers become friends and not enemies. its totally great! i wouldnt be surprised if one day they ended up performing together!
I was really upset when i saw that Ace and Chris were in the bottom 2. They were my favorite in American Idol. I thought that they were going to get up to the top 4 or 5. But im really upset that Ace left. And when and if Chris leaves there is going to be no point to watch the show.
It is really great that they became good friends. If they ever do a show together then i am going to be there. I think that they are the best in the world.
Oh, my gosh i was soooo in love with Ace. I cant believe he actually went home. Im glad that him and chris who is my other favorite next to taylor are such good friends. I would totally buy his cd if he got a record. My family hopes kelly pickler loses.!!!!!! go ace!

I adore elliot. Im pretty much in love with him. His cute big ears are so lovable. I just hope Ace gets offerd a record deal.He was doing good until voted off. So many people i know would buy his Cd. He has the looks…………………… but GO ELLIOT!
I think thats great that they have such a good friendship.Now the only person im voting for is Chris and Taylor… For some reason no-one in my family likes Kelly Pickler……They think shes fake, dumb, and just plain ediotic.
Hey i like Kelly Pickler. Shes not that dumb. Maybe a little but that girl can sing! I dont know how fake she might be. But from my point of view shes all country. Oh and i think Ace and Chris’s friendship is also good.

I love Chris i think he is a awesome intertainer its about time someone who can really sing instead of scream wins it. I really cant stand Paris once again she is a screamer not a singer. Cathrine is awsome to. Taylor is such a intertainer hes fun to watch but if i had to listen to him instead of watch him i dont think i would. Go Chris you have my vote.

Friendship is key to life!! Hopefully, they’ll remain friends after the show is over and, all the touring has been completed.
Many years from now, pending their friendship remains strong, they’ll be able to discuss this great experience and bring smiles to one another’s face!

I agree 100% with Kaitlyn on comment #26. Elliott is terrible & should have been gone a long time ago. He has no business in the final 3. Even if he wins, I cannot see him becoming successful - he is so bland and boring that I have been finding myself fast forwarding after watching only 1/2 of his performances b/c he could literally put me to sleep. No personality. The show is nothing without Chris - it is absolutely ridiculous that he is gone. He will get signed somewhere & become more successful than whoever actually wins. The show is a joke now - I will never watch again.
I heard that Chris has an ofer to be the lead singer in a band called “Fuel”. He should take it. He is also getting an album.(YES!)He really deserves it. He worked very hard to be in the final four. And he may not be famous, bu he will always be my idol.

I think there friendship is really good.when ACE left I thought I would not go on watching it but then i seen and herd CHRIS sing I thought I was gonna faint. when ACE and CHRIS was in the bottom 3 together that broke my heart because i loved them both and I just started balling my eyes out. I don’t care if they are gone they both are my american Idol. I love them both and i always will.
Those two will always want to get together thru the years to come to rehash their beginnings. Chris is going to have immediate fame and will never forget to boost his friend Ace…probably the two will cash in on one another’s popularity regardless. When you have a strong family backing as the two of them do they surround you with confidence and support and cause you to believe in yourself and that confidence may come across to some as smug. But in actuality anyone who really knows either of these guys know they are genuine, kind,considerate and down to earth good guys. The closeness all of them shared as brothers and sisters almost proved they were not jealous and mean spirited. These two are sizzling steaks …Popping fresh!!!

Iloved Ace i hated he was voted off. he has a real fan base. I think you sound alot like James Blunt and Bo Bice. Who ever is there manager should really get in touch with you !!! When chris was voted off that was a terrible upset. The people couldn’t even vote the lines were jammed the whole 2 hours one of the lines didn’t even work. Some people tried voting for chris and got kats voice. AI should have stepped up to the plate and had another vote. THEY CHEATED NOT ONLY CHRIS BUT THE WHOLE WORLD. I didn’t watch the show again and really didn’t care who won. I watched the last show only to see Ace and Chris. GOOD LUCK WITH THE FRIENDSHIP AND YOUR CAREERS I WIIL BUY YOUR CDS IN A HEARTBEAT.
