Remember how upset we were when Chris Daughtry was voted off American Idol? We screamed. We yelled. We threw things at the TV screen. (Well, maybe we didn't do all that.) Even though we were mad, we believed that Chris would do just fine without the Idol title. We were so right!

It was announced Monday that Chris signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/RCA Records, the same label that signed winner Taylor Hicks and runner-up Katharine McPhee. The label also announced that Chris will be putting together a band and recording an album soon.

Now, I wonder if it will end up being a showdown between Chris and Taylor in the record stores. Could a fourth-place finalist outsell the American Idol winner? Hmmm.
