David Hasselhoff Says He Was Conned by Simon Cowell
David Hasselhoff says he didn't really want to be a judge on America's Got Talent -- but he was "conned" into doing it by the show's executive producer Simon Cowell.
Hasselhoff told Newsweek magazine: "This is not my cup of tea. I signed on for one season, and Simon Cowell conned me into it: 'Here's a lot of money,' and 'it's like The Gong Show.'"
So, it seems Hasselhoff won't be coming back for the show's second season, which begins in January. "I'm trying to get on a sitcom or maybe even my own show, Travels With the Hoff," he told Newsweek.
"The Hoff" didn't mention musical theater in the interview, but the latest news is that he will be heading to Melbourne, Australia to star in a musical about his own life. The show, which will be called Simply Hasselhoff, is inspired by his days on The Young and The Restless and Knight Rider.
