We were surprised and amused when Billy of the Aitu tribe announced that he was in love with Candice of the Raro tribe on last night's episode of Survivor.

Before he was voted off at tribal council, he told Jeff Probst "it was love at first sight" and "at the last challenge, we sort of mouthed the words ‘I love you’ to each other. So that was my prize, and my prize was her.”

Billy must have been drinking too much coconut water, because even though there was a friendly exchange between him and Candice, she did not say "I love you."

On CBS's Early show Friday morning, Billy explained that at the time, he wasn't getting any love from his team and "I was starving for affection… She threw me a little bit of affection and it was like the best affection I ever had."

On The Early Show, Billy also said even though he seemed lazy on the show, it was all a part of his strategy. "Not working was part of my play," he said. "I wanted to use my energy later."
