It's All About Jeffrey Sebelia

Thursday October 19, 2006
Let's just call today Jeffrey Sebelia Day. The newly-crowned winner of Project Runway is the talk of the town, getting more headlines than Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton combined. Here are some highlights from Jeffrey Sebelia Day on the net.

(1) Shirley says:

I cannot believe Jeffrey won the Project Runway contest — his clothes looked like the “grunge” look. Who’s going to buy his clothes? Uli should have won — she did a much better job or even Michael did better. And afterwardds, I understand there were those trying to find out where to find Uli and, I think Michael was given some harsher criticism than he should have!

I can only reiterate the above remark made by Shirley. The guy’s got talent, but, talent being equal, Jeffrey’s ‘brattitude’ sinks him over and over. My vote would have gone to Uli or Michael. However, ‘congratulations’ Jeffrey, I hope this win makes a mensch out of you. If you lose some of your edge, maybe your clothes will be more “accessible” for us mere mortals.

(3) Joe says:

I am so happy that Jeffrey won. I picked him to win ‘Project Runway’ and Uli next… Jeffrey’s fashion sense is phenomenal, and his edgy look makes it even more interesting. I am happy I predicted the order of winners like the judges…!

(4) Renee says:

I am VERY disappointed and SHOCKED!! I can not believe that he won. His clothes is not something that I would wear and I am in my 20’s. I was not a fan of Laura’s, but I loved her collection. Again some of the items I would not wear. Was disappointed that she did not show the red jersey knit dress with the detail inside the slit. Or did I just miss it? I was looking forward to seeing that one. I would wear Uli’s. I thought Michael could of done better and was disappointed, but I am sure he will make a name for himself without winning. Has any of the previous winners done anything big? I know that Cloe (I pray that is her name that won last year.. I keep wanting to say Grace, but I believe that was her model) still has her business in Texas, but has she done anything else? So maybe it was a blessing in disguise that neither Michael or Uli didn’t win, or even Laura.

(5) Susan M. says:

Jeffrey won because of his distinctive style…not because he improved upon more of the same. I would not wear his clothes, but they were wonderful. Keep in mind, ALL four were/are extremely talented! each has a solid career in the industry.(-;

(6) Nancy says:

I just can’t believe it. I would have put him at the very bottom of the list.
His attitude really was something else.
Go figure!!

(7) June H says:

My opinion of the results of the show, it made me nauseated! I cannot believe his attempts were chosen. Uli should have won by 110%. He’s a poor example of talent and knowledge of the female body! He’s a brat and loves being called that. It’s called childish behavior to gain attention!! If this was for publicity for a future show, it turned me off from ever watching again!! BAARF!

I can’t believe he won…I am truly disappointed.. My favorite was Michael, at least he won the fan favorite.

(9) VES says:

All I can say is: There is nothing about Jeffrey I liked. His win assured that I will not watch the show again. It seems that the judges and the producers did not realize that if he has his own business and his own employees - well, why would he have a receipt for any work done by them? They just show up for their job and they do what they are told to do. Remember? He was working on his other “line” in addition to his line for the show. I do not think that he did all the work. Plus the fact that his body language really looked guilty.

Nope, will not be watching this again, because it’s skewed for ratings only - it is not a true contest.

I love that he won! what a great show! he deserved it!! i even forgave laura for being so suspicious. he has talent and passion he is an artist, with ideas about clothes, and he loves making them.

also, i just adore uli.

this team is going to be hard for future seasons to beat, and they have raised the bar.

viva proj runway!

tim gunn is a doll!!!!!!

(11) Tonja says:

I think they made the right choice. Although ULI had the clothes for every woman to wear. Jeffery makes high fashion items. Which is what they are looking for. If you ever go to a real fashion show you will see stuff that jeffrey has made, not Uli. You can find Uli’s stuff in any boutique in Miami.

(12) cathi parker says:

i am glad that jeffery won. it just shows that even when you are at the bottom of life and you have a vision you can accomplish anything. michael is 2nd in my book.

(13) nathalie says:

I hate that Jeffrey won, but his clothes were a surprise and a deviation from the dirty, ripped, tight “rocker-grunge” look from earlier in the season. His attitude totally stinks. He has issues from his past, and they show when he is challenged.

He says he loves his son so much, but unless he works on changing himself I’m sure he’s passing that behavior on to his child. What a disservice.
