The Bachelor Chooses Jennifer

Tuesday November 28, 2006
The Bachelor has chosen the special woman who he may propose to and possibly marry someday.

Lorenzo chose Jennifer, the 24-year-old teacher from Florida. But the Italian prince decided not to propose to the beautiful blonde before testing their relationship in the real world. Smart man!

Even though Lorenzo didn't pop the question, he did slip a diamond ring (designed by his mother) on Jennifer's finger. She could barely contain her excitement.

Jennifer was one happy girl, but poor Sadie had to take the limo ride of shame. During the finale, the 23-year-old PR rep, who is saving herself for marriage, said she was ready to "give it all" to Lorenzo. After she charmed his parents in Rome and Lorenzo talked to her father about proposing, she was pretty sure of herself. But in the end, an emotional Lorenzo let her know he would rather be with Jennifer.

I was very disappointed. Jen was a sweet girl, but I think Sadie was a better match for Lorenzo. Jen was a giddy little girl that has some growing up to do and Sadie carried herself with such grace. The way that Lorenzo let her down was very sad and almost mean. I think he might regret his decision.

(3) E says:

I wasn’t disappointed that he chose Jen, but I was surprised. I thought Jen was better for him–Sadie seemed a bit too little-girl-ish in the previous episodes–but I can’t imagine their families coming together in harmony over the long term! (Jen’s dad is a nut! Can you imagine hiim being OKAY with his ‘baby’ and his future grandkids living in New York instead of in his home or right down the street?) But I really was surprised; he seemed to be a little more caring toward Sadie, though maybe those were the clips they were showing to make this seem more shocking.

I do really agree, though, that he let her down in SUCH a bad way! I had thought he was a pretty sweet guy and good catch up until that point–now I think he’s the biggest weenie. The way he put it–”there’s another girl here, and I’d rather be with her.”–and then just didn’t say anything more, but kept forcing HER to do all the talking. ARG! And when she said she wasn’t okay, but would be, his face looked shocked or something that she wasn’t okay, and he still said nothing. A stronger and more classy man would have said, “I think I’d be more COMPATIBLE with Jen” instead of “I’d rather be with her”, and would have then totally told Sadie how special she was, highlighted all her good qualities, talked about how amazingly lucky her future husband is and that he’s out there waiting for her. There’s so much he could have said instead of pasting that wierd expression on his face and pumping her to keep doing all the talking and giving her NOTHING. Maybe the producers asked him to do that, but he should have refused. I wouldn’t have been able to.

And what’s up with the not proposing? I’ve never seen the show before, but wasn’t an engagement part of it? Why did he ask both fathers for their daughters’ hands if he wasn’t planning to propose? I think it was wise not to, but he shouldn’t have made it look like he was going to. I don’t see this relationship lasting…

But at least it’s interesting t.v. Anyway, thanks, everyone, for letting me say my piece. Nobody I know in real life watches this, so I’m glad to have this venue!

(4) April says:

I hate this stupid show! Lorenzo is an idiot for picking Jen. Also, who cares if they are going to start “dating”. I wanted to see a proposal. This show is worthless!

(5) Becky says:

I’m very disappointed in the ending I thought for sure he would choose Sadie.I think Jen acted childish and has been a Daddy’s girl way to long.I’m kind of glad there was no engagement right now and perhaps he will realize what a mistake he made and try and get Sadie and i hope she leaves him standing! what a jerk to not even say something special to her.Maybe Sadie can be the next bachelorette and find a super guy she so deserves.

I agree I liked Sadie better, but I guess he followed his heart.

(7) Kimaling says:

Why waste your time watching this crap when there are more satisfying things to take in..like the IFC or Sundance channels for quality shows..who the hell cares about this??

November 28, 2006 at 2:12 pm
(8) Alexa says:

First of all- yes we get it you guys- IFC et al does play much more intellectually stimulating programs…get over it! The Bachelor is fluffy escapism and that’s the point.
Now to the gritty-
Jen??!! It seemed like he was so much more affectionate and attentive to Sadie. Sadie was much more well-spoken, witty, confident, and certainly seemed a lot more fun. Jen is indeed a daddy’s girl- and her daddy is a piece of work! Good luck Lorenzo!
Lorenzo’s final decision, alas, only supports Erica’s theory on the outcome. And I won’t even go into what a waste of space Ms.Erica is.
Very disappointing. Lorenzo seemed like a promising bachelor.

November 28, 2006 at 2:39 pm
(9) Suz says:

I would have preferred Sadie, but warmed up to Jen, so wasn’t horribly disappointed. I was very disappointed in his cold, uncaring way to telling Sadie he would rather be with Jen. Ruined my feelings about him. Thought he was such a high quality warm, exceptional man. Boy, was I wrong.

November 28, 2006 at 3:00 pm
(10) Kathleen says:

I agree..i was shocked he picked Jen. I guess with the Borghese money on the line he didn’t want to propose. He was so cold to Sadie and appeared very uncaring. His fake tears only made me angrier. When he left Agnese he even SAID that it wouldn’t have been nice NOT to show some kind of emotion. I feel sorry for Jen.

November 28, 2006 at 3:04 pm
(11) Loren says:

I missed the show, but Lorenzo sounds like a ‘Loser’ and a big heel.
Can we have a replay of the show??????

November 28, 2006 at 3:36 pm
(12) June H says:

What an egotist Lorenzo is. He really showed his true colors with his poor unfeeling ending with Sadie. I’m not sure he was mature enough for a woman like Sadie. He kept calling them all girls, geeze, what a little boy he is. Sadie has class, Jen’s father sure doesn’t and as the saying goes, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Lorenze was really into the “I’m a Prince” and I think he feels he could be boss with Jen but Sadie had too much strength for him.

November 28, 2006 at 3:51 pm
(13) Angelina says:

Yes, I agree with everyone that I am very dissapointed with Lorenzo’s attitude toward Sadie, she doesn’t desert that.
I don’t think Jen is a good match for him and I don’t think they will work out.
Feel very sorry for Sadie but hope she know there is a great man out there for her.

(14) Lorna says:

Does anyone know if this particular show is rerun at any time? When, where, time, etc., etc. THANKS!

November 28, 2006 at 4:26 pm
(15) Marsha says:

Lorenzo followed his heart as he should have. No one knows the stress they all go through and shouldn’t bad mouth them until they’ve walked in their shoes.
Every woman knows that their heart may be broken and that only one woman will be chosen before they go on the show. I applaud their courage to even try to act normal under the circumstances. Cameras and the public eye are on you continually.
A good job done by all who were on the show.
Congrats Lorenzo and Jen.

November 28, 2006 at 6:05 pm
(16) Zona says:

I felt Sadie was class and mature.
I felt Jen was a little “groupie” type of gal.
Of course, it was Lorenzo’s choice.
Early in the last show I noted that whoever they were showing with the ring was someone with short unkempt fingernails. Then when I noticed Jen
hugging him, I again recognized the nails.
With my Sherlock Holmes hat on, I knew
early on in the show who he had chosen!

November 28, 2006 at 6:13 pm
(17) E says:

I agree that Lorenzo should have followed his heart and that nobody can judge him for that, but the WAY he let Sadie down made him seem like a real sadist (no pun intended, har har). There are ways you can let someone down without crushing them, and he seemed to be pouring salt in her wounds. I thought he was a real gentleman throughout the show, but that one moment changed my whole perception of him.

November 28, 2006 at 6:21 pm
(18) Elaine says:

I, too, was disappointed that Lorenzo didn’t chose Sadie — thought she was a much better choice and a very classy lady.
Oh well, am sure she will find someone much better down the way. elaine

November 28, 2006 at 7:11 pm
(19) Shannon says:

I am so disappointed that he chose Jen. Sadie seemed like a really wonderful woman and it was sad to see her heart broken. Lorenzo didn’t speak to her like he cared for her the least little bit. I was very impressed with Lorenzo all through the show - until then. He was pretty awful to Sadie. Very sad.

November 28, 2006 at 8:14 pm
(20) holly says:

its the norm now to no the bach isnt going to prob choose the one you hope he is- they play it up and try to fool you but its become so predictable and id like to see some normal people on the show- like older or simplier- anyhow when he choose the whiny one whom thought she was princess material i was convinced it was all fake then for ratings!!!

November 28, 2006 at 8:53 pm
(21) Scarlett says:

Kimaling, evidently you thought the show was a bit worth watching you are sure in here making your stupid comments……

I do think that he made a mistake by picking Jen. She acts too childish and fake to me. Sadie is one classy woman and I feel that more than likely he wasnt the one for her she deserves much better. He was pretty crude when telling her who he chose.

November 28, 2006 at 10:05 pm
(22) Tara says:

I thought Lorenzo was a nice guy and was shocked he picked Jen. I did like Jen but thought Sadie was a better match and I think the show made him say that in the end about I would rather be with another woman. He seemed like he felt bad for saying it that way that is why I think they made him. Also I think maybe when his mom showed up that she picked Jen for him she seemed like a very strong woman and I could see Sadie not putting up with anything and I think Jen would never say anything and just go along with it. I think Sadie should be the next bachelorette and pick her prince.

November 28, 2006 at 10:06 pm
(23) Jeannine says:

I was pleasntly surprised Lorenzo chose Jen-A VERY WISE CHOICE-Sadie appeared too phony and she rolled her eyes at one point in the show-displaying her evident jealous nature!

Lorenzo chose the down to earth smart girl!

(25) Ana says:

How many people think that Sadie’s virginity figured into his decision? He said he respected her for it but I have to wonder. I thought it was my imagination that he treated Sadie better and seemed to have more fun with her than Jen. And then to let Sadie down in such a stark and appalling manner after making her think he was choosing her!

November 28, 2006 at 11:29 pm
(26) Linda says:

I’m old enough to be their parents but I got sucked into the suspense and romance. I was SURE that Lorenzo would pick Sadie. Jen seemed obviously shallow and kept saying they could “work on their relationship”.. I thought that was a turn-off. Sadie appeared to be positive that she loved Lorenzo. Their parents were something else. Did they plan to appear before royality or was it a total surprise?
Oh well, it’s a cute show and we were entertained.

I hope Sadie stars as the next Bachelorette. It would make a great show. Lorenzo did her a favor!

PLEASE HAVE SADIE AS THE BACHELORETTE???????????

November 29, 2006 at 10:38 am
(29) Marilyn says:

This is a despicable show. Sadie had to be humiliated before the world by the insesitive words of Lorenzo. What a gad - he certainly could have been for gentle. Well, Jen, good luck because you are getting into a nightmare. I thought the whole idea was a proposal to chosen girl. I think the sponsors got taken and so they should for a stupid show like this. Lorenzo had lots of time to pick kinder words and blew it. His Mother loved every minute of the fame and dominated her son.

November 29, 2006 at 1:01 pm
(30) Christine says:

Lorenzo is a fool for not picking Sadie!!! Comparing to Jen, Sadie has MUCH MORE Princess material. Lorenzo commented that he does not feel as much chemistry with Sadie. Well, he based his relationship with her on the “sex” part obviously!!! And, that is very shallow of a real life prince. Sadie is better off without someone like that. I love how graceful she presented herself even when she was hurt. She’s a true princess!!

I think he picked the girl he thought would move to NY for him. He’s an idiot for picking Jen. No substance. Typical Florida girl.

I really thought he would have picked Sadie. I think he picked Jen because she reminded him of his own mom. And I think Sadie should be the next Bachelorette !!!

(33) james says:

I don’t care who he picked. The network intentionally misdirected us with their promos. I will not watch this show again. I WILL ALSO ENCOURAGE OTHERS NOT TO WATCH!

November 30, 2006 at 12:23 am
(34) clickity-split says:

You’d be shocked at the difference between what you see and what really goes on at these things.

Consider that each participant must sign exceptionally well-crafted, air-tight waivers agreeing to let the producers to edit the footage any way they see fit in order to be part of ‘reality TV.’

pffft.

All things being equal, the Agnese persona they crafted was the most interesting to me, but the Sadie persona was always the cutest and the sweetest. I hoped she would win.

November 30, 2006 at 10:18 am
(35) Carol says:

I thought Sadie was a doll–and what a personality! I thought Jen was immature–and very surprised she was Lorenzo’s choice. If Lorenzo and Jen make it long term–I’ll be surprised is they do–he’d better be careful of her dad if anything bad happens between them. As he sat watching the show, he had to regret his choice!!!!

I hope Sadie is the next Bachelorette!!

November 30, 2006 at 4:09 pm
(36) Candace says:

Did anyone pick up on the clips they were showing during the Finale that the woman’s nails accepting the ring were painted white, like Jen’s and Sadie’s were natural? I watched for shots of their hands during the finale and it showed Jen with white or cream polish on and Sadie with none. So it wasn’t a big surprise to me.
I did think that Lorenzo telling Sadie, “There’s another woman here…” was tacky.
Luckily I have Tevo because I’ve been getting sucked into these reality shows lately but don’t have to waste as much time during their actual airing. p.s. Mario should have won! :) w/Joey second.

November 30, 2006 at 6:40 pm
(37) E says:

Oh, yeah, don’t even get me STARTED on Mario! He was robbed! And looks like Sadie was the lucky one in the end….

November 30, 2006 at 8:13 pm
(38) Cheryl says:

Uhmmm… I think both WOMEN (not girls) were beautiful and am certain that it must have been a hard decision to make…however… I can’t help but wonder if he might possibly have had a little teeny tiny inferiority complex going on because Sadie could TOTALLY “hold her own” with him and his parents… he is most likely more accustomed to viewing himself in a superior role simply because of who he is.
I too, hope that they ask Sadie to be the next Bachelorette.

(39) Lourdes Daquigan says:

I just feel not to watch this show anymore and tell others not too. I’ve been watching this show from the beginning, and this is the episode that I praised the most, but i dont know after watching the finale i can tell, its not real. The Lorenzo I’ve seen before is the total opposite of the Lorenzo in the finale. I wish i missed that show maybe I still like it. HE IS NOT HONEST. FAKE CRYING BABY BOY. Shame on you claiming that one of your ancestors was one of the former pope. You should just keep it yourself so we dont compare. If its true “LIVE IT” if you cant live that kind of life, then dont announce that you are such and such. Good thing you’re not in Italy no more, you dont deserve to be there. FAKE …LIAR
The pain you gave to Sadie will get back to you I’m sure double, triple or more even.
Good Luck with the girl you picked and get yourself ready for the Dad’s shotguns

Sadie bright future awaits you. Its a good thing youre not chosen, Lorenzo the way I saw it on the show is not the right man for you, its too obvious he was directed.

December 1, 2006 at 5:38 pm
(40) K says:

I’m glad Lorenzo picked Jen. Sadie was too much of a phony and every time she opened her mouth we were reminded of how she was “saving herself for marriage”. Whatever! Jen might be a daddy’s girl but she’s an adult and has the right to make up her mind and live anywhere she wants whether it’s NY or Timbucktoo.

Congrats to Lorenzo & Jen!

December 3, 2006 at 10:39 pm
(41) ML says:

Why do those of you who say this show is crap even write in? If you think that comments like.. who cares…and this show is worthless….are comments worth making….then you care…even if it is a negative opinion you carry….

If you really don’t care then you waste your time spending even one minute on this link…

Now for something important…I think he made a great choice…but I wish him luck with Jen’s dad, and her dad’s guns!

:)

(42) Charlie says:

Sadie is such a sweetie and I know that she will find what she is looking for..As far as I can see it is Lorenzo’s loss and some lucky mans gain….Keep your head up Sadie and good luck.
