Soap Star Replaces Caroline Rhea as Host of The Biggest Loser

Thursday February 22, 2007
Sorry, Caroline Rhea fans. The comedian will not host the upcoming season of The Biggest Loser. She has been replaced by Days of Our Lives star Alison Sweeney. NBC did not say why they decided to go with a new host, but an executive producer for the show said "Alison is an incredible talent and will bring not only a great fresh face to the show but a huge, loyal fan base."

Come on. Why boot Caroline Ray? And, what about her fan base?

I agree with mary…Caroline Ray has a huge fan base..Why put a skinny fresh face out there?
Also anyone know the date as to when biggest loser will be starting up again?

I would think it is because she was setting a rather poor example. How can you host a program about losing weight and not learn to lose some yourself.

I personally think it’s the best thing they could’ve done. Caroline was a ROBOT — she had/showed no emotion. It was time for a change. I’m a huge fan of Alison and I think she’ll do an excellent job. Good Luck Alison! I’ll be watching this season - unlike last season.

What a shame. I love Caroline, and she was perfect for the show — a normal sized woman, not some stick. There is nothing wrong with her weight! She is a beautiful, witty woman and I hope she goes on to bigger and better things. I don’t think I’ll be watching some size zero host a show about weight loss. I’ll be watching Caroline wherever she shows up.

Well, after watching Season 4, I was less than thrilled with Alison. She showed less emotion than Caroline, talk about robot! But that might be expected as she is a soap star after all, she is used to playing a dramatic part. So, maybe NBC needs to look into someone a little more bubbly, how about Richard Simmons!

Watch the season 3 finale and maybe that’s why Caroline got booted. I liked her too, but I swear she must’ve been drunk or something.
Allison is a fresh face and I enjoyed her a great deal.

Alison Sweeney needs to go back to her “Days’ Job. Rikki lake would be a more appropirate host of The Biggest Loser, because unlinke Rhea and Sweeney, Rikki Lake had a REAL struggle losing wiehgt most of her life. Let a woman who lost 120 pounds be the host of this show, not a second rate soap star or a bipolar D-List Commedienne.
