Andy Proposes to Tessa on The Bachelor; Will They Last?

Tuesday May 22, 2007

Bachelor Andy Baldwin proposed to 26-year-old social worker Tessa during the emotional season finale of The Bachelor on Monday night. "Mission soulmate" accomplished! But is Andy and Tessa's romance yet another Bachelor relationship doomed for failure? Vote in the poll and tell me what you think!

The basic idea behind this show is sweet……finding true love. What the show does though is make a mockery of the concept. To be dating, kissing, making love to more than one woman (or man) at a time (in order to keep the show running) and fall madly in love with just one is a silly concept. If I were the one picked in the end, I would watch the replay and ask “how could you say that to her and still love me?”

This Bachelor show was the absolute worst. Andy Baldwin had to choose from the sorriest, ugliest bunch of women I have ever seen. I think he chose Tessa because she obviously does not love him and he can break up with her easily, eventually. Poor Andy, if he does stay with Tessa, I hope he can teach her how to kiss!!!

I think Andy could have done so much better. I didn’t think it was nice that he told both girl’s he loved them.
So much for that gentleman part of him.Jill

I didnt like that he told both women he loved them.. That was not fair to Bevin and I dont think Tessa is as committed.

i think they are more realistic and more open and considered the future together and know each other more than any other bachelor/wife set. i seen most of the other seasons and feel this is the most real couple by far. they seem to know each other and their conversations seem genuine and open. they seem to really love each other. I never felt the other couples did for some reason. this is the first couple i felt really love each other

i hate it when people based their choices on looks. tessa is NOT ugly shes pretty. looks fade and finding someone who loves you and whose personality and future plans fit with yours is hard.

I felt Tessa was the ONLY choice for Andy almost from the very beginning. Most people want to be challenged and, as Andy said, Tessa made him work for it. If he didn’t feel something special about Tessa, I don’t think he would have wasted as much time as he did in pursuing her. Tessa is a very smart, poised and beautiful person. She has an inner beauty and is down-to-earth … comfortable in any setting. Some people just make you feel comfortable being around them right off the bat. When she met Andy’s family for the first time, she looked like she “belonged” and fit right in. Tessa is a beautiful girl who will make an excellent wife and mother and I wish them all the happiness and joy these two young people deserve. Unfortunately, even before Bevin disclosed she had been married previously, she struck me as being manipulative and way too aggressive with her necking, etc., etc., etc. Andy is a guy and, of course, he’s going to reciprocate. I’m just sayin’ …

(9) Mary says:

The cards are stacked against any of the couples staying together. The bachelors are spoiled by the idea that so many women fall for them simultaneously and for what seems to be almost no good reasons, and the women get caught up in the competition and dupe themselves into thinking the sinking feeling in the pits of their stomachs is *true love.*

For Andy to say that he was looking for true love and that he expected all of the women to commit first before he would even consider them is NOT a good omen. But I suppose that the show is a magnet for narcissists.

Tessa said she went on the show as a lark and was surprised to find herself (sort of) in love. If the relationship can and does work, it will probably be because she isn’t as gullible as most of the women who appear on this show.

However, I can’t imagine how any relationship can survive the amount of scrutiny and the necessary duplicity on the part of the bachelor. The format of the show goes against the chance of any kind of sincerity breaking through the “rules.”

Seems as though in every final there is a bimbo and a “nice girl,” and the bachelor chooses the “nice girl.” Just like real life. NOT!

Tessa was the most REAL girl on any of the bachelor shows. Any girl who would openly say she was in love with a guy and feel a connection like no other when she knew there were other contenders for the guys heart is just idiotic. Tessa was real and honest about being slow to open up. Go Tessa and good-luck!
