Bachelor Andy Tells Me He Had Some Explaining To Do

Tuesday May 22, 2007
Here's something that made me cringe during the Bachelor season finale. During one scene, Andy declared to Bevin "I'm in freakin' love" A few scenes later, he tells his soon-to-be-fiancee Tessa "I freakin' love you!" If Andy and Tessa saw the finale together, that might have been a really "freakin'" uncomfortable moment on the couch!

During an interview last week, I asked Andy if it's hard to watch episodes of The Bachelor with his new love.

"It's definitely hard," he said. "I know what I did, but the reason it's so hard obviously is that all she really lived out is her time with me. I did my best to prep her and let her know what she was going to see."

Andy even told me what he tells Tessa to make her feel better. (Cue the violins, please!)

"Listen honey, put yourself in my situation. The method to the madness and the way that this Bachelor format works is that you are dating several women down to the end. I know how I feel about you now and how I felt about you in the end. That's what counts now and let's just focus on the future and not the past. That's the process that we had to go through to get where we are, and let's be so thankful that we found each other."

Okay, Andy. I guess we (I mean Tessa) can forgive you this time. ;-)

Is it just me or could andy have been in “fricken Love” with both of the girls. The bachelor is just simply a hard situation for someone to fall in love. I think that Andy did a really good job at making the girls feel equally special. I thought when Andy was on his last date with Beven he was for sure going to have a very researved date with Tessa the next day, but he proved wrong. Good Luck, Andy and Tessa, you’re in my prayers.

Latoya here. You’re right. I think he was really torn. But he says it was hard for Tessa to watch and I could see why. I wish them luck, too! Andy is such a nice guy! He’s my favorite Bachelor so far!

I totally have to believe that it was the editting that made him look undecided…..otherwise…..Tessa…..run like the wind!

Jan, you’re probably right that the editing made him look even more undecided. The producers can’t make it too obvious who he will choose. But when he cried about hurting Bevin, I could tell that he really had feelings for her. Awww!

I can’t believe Andy picked Tessa. Bevin was such a beautiful and sweet girl. She opened her heart to Andy and it’s so rare to find the chemistry the two of them shared. When Tessa spoke, her words seemed scripted and fake. Sorry, maybe I’m wrong, but it was as if she was saying what she thought she was supposed to say, and not what she felt. For instance, it was so lame when she said “when I’m with you, everything is just right.” To me, that’s not what you say to someone you love.

The one thing Tessa did right was present Andy with a challenge. Sadly, a lot of guys are screwed up and go for that BS.

Sorry Andy, I really think you blew it and doubt your new relationship will flourish and make it long-term without the chemistry to keep it going. As far as Bevin, she is the perfect candidate for the Bachelorette and will no longer have any problem finding her dream man. My $.02.

i think he was decided with bevin and knew tessa was gonna be stiff again. but tessa surprised him on that last date, told him what she found difficult to say before and became more convincing in the end. that’s all andy was waiting for from tessa anyway (he’s always admired her elegance). the effect of her giving in must have been more intense than the usual sweetness he gets from bevin. of course the leap from “great potential” to “marry me” is just absurd. but that’s what the show requires so what can they do.

Mr. Baldwin was in a tough spot that is granted. But how can he say to Bevin that the electricity between them is something that he never felt before and that she touches his SOUL and then turn around and ask Tessa to marry him. Can a person get over those kinds of proposed in depth feelings in a short time. I would have to say in those intense love moments Tessa sweetie I hope he is thinking of you.

I think Bevin was his soul mate. They even look alike. The would have had beautiful children together.

Andy being a gentleman, has to make each woman feel special. Why can’t people be just happy for them? I admire Bevin’s strong personality and no doubt she will find her match someday - off the camera. I wish Andy and Tessa the best - Congratulations!!

Did anyone see Andy’s lips move when the told Bevin he loved her? I watched the finale again and did not see any lip movement. It was like a voce over when he said “I’m frickin in love”. And notice he did not say “I’m frickin in love WITH YOU” as he did with Tessa.

Congratilations and best wishes to them!!

It’s hard to act normal when cameras and mics are in your face 24-7. Tessa has class - Bevin was more forward - Tessa realized if she didn’t let her guard down and take a major step by letting her feelings be known - she would lose Andy. Tessa knew Andy felt strongly for her;she had to come out of her comfort zone and tell him her true feelings on that last date ’cause that was her last chance -had the show continued for a longer time - I’m sure the end result would still be Tessa - the love is there and it’s true - Bevin def had something for Andy and him for her - but I doubt that it would have lasted—-too intense too soon.
