Paris Hilton's "Life" Ruined: Socialite's Reality Show Canceled

Monday July 30, 2007
All of the publicity Paris Hilton received during the whole jail debacle could have attracted more viewers to her reality show The Simple Life. But instead of the show getting a ratings boost, America decided to change the channel on the overexposed socialite and her sidekick Nicole Richie.

The E! network has confirmed that Paris and Nicole's former hit show, which originally aired on Fox, has been canceled. This Sunday's episode will be the final episode of the series, which showcased the wealthy friends in various fish-out-of-water situations. The first and, in my opinion, the best season of the show put the Hollywood party girls in a small town, where they moved in with an average family. But over time, the reality show morphed more and more into a silly, semiscripted sitcom.

The Simple Life may have been canceled, but I'm sure Paris and Nicole have other things on their minds. Paris is working on recording a new album and changing her party girl image. And Nicole is probably thinking about the four days she will serve in jail for DUI and the baby she is reportedly carrying.
