Who Should Win Dancing With the Stars? Our Dance Guide Weighs In
About.com's new Dance Guide Treva Bedinhaus wants to hear from you in a new poll -- Who do you think should win Dancing With the Stars?
And in case you're curious about which contestant Treva is impressed by, I asked the lifelong dancer to share her opinion on who is the best dancer in the finals. Here's what she had to say:
In a season of shocks and turns, it looks like the biggest shock to some viewers is that Marie Osmond is one of the final three dancers. Although she has come a very long way in a short period of time, she is definitely not one of the three best dancers. Sabrina was technically the best dancer, with her dance skills apparent early on. I believe a lot of viewers lost faith in the show when Sabrina Bryan was voted off. It seems to some that the show has become a popularity contest as opposed to a true dance competition, and the only voters should be the judges. However, as every reality television show strives to achieve ratings, the viewers must be allowed to make their opinion count as well.
In defense of Marie, I do believe that she is fun to watch, adding a touch of entertainment to her routines. She seems to have fun dancing, which is all-important in a true dance competition. However, Melanie Brown is the best dancer in the finals. Of the three remaining, Melanie is the most skilled, most natural and most capable dancer. Although she has no previous ballroom dancing experience, she has performed the most complex routines this season. Helio Castroneves, on the other hand, is a master at fast-paced moves. His foxtrot was one of the best performances I have ever seen. He possesses a unique dance style that capitalizes on his natural energy.
