From Diane Anderson-Minshall:
Ever since American Family debuted on PBS in 1973, reality TV has been changing the face of television and forever altering how we see ourselves. Shows like American Idol, The Simple Life, Survivor, Millionaire Matchmaker and Amazing Race continue to influence what it means to be an American.
I’ve been following reality TV’s evolution since MTV‘s Real World captivated me in the early ‘90s. In short, I’m addicted to reality TV and count shows like Project Runway, Dance your Ass Off, Tough Love and America’s Next Top Model as favored destinations. I don’t know where we’re headed with this constantly evolving medium, but I do know I wouldn’t want to miss the ride.
