Brandi Glanville (born November 16, 1972) has two sons--Mason Edward (born June 8, 2003) and Jake Austin (born April 7, 2007)--with her ex-husband, actor Eddie Cibrian. The couple broke up after Cibrian had an affair with country star LeAnn Rimes. (That relationship also broke up her marriage and then Cibrian and Rimes married; although--unfortunately, none of that made-for-TV drama was captured on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.)
Before joining RHOBH Glanville was a fashion model for 17 years, and made appearances in magazines like Glamour and Cosmo as well as working for designers like Giorgio Armani, Chanel and Gucci. Recently she has written a novel and is working on a cookbook, neither of which have yet been picked up by a publisher.
Glanville began appearing on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills episodes in Season Two. Although she and Camille Grammer hit it off, Glanville's frequent social faux pas turned off the other Housewives (who were especially horrified when one of Glanville's sons urinated on Adrienne Maloof's lawn). In particular, Glanville has continued to clash with Kim and Kyle Richards and one fight escalated to Glanville yelling threats like "I'm going to kill you!"
Obviously Real Housewives producers didn't want to miss out on drama like that, and when Camille Grammer stepped back from her role on the show, they offered Glanville a full-fledged Housewife role for Season Three.
