What is 'Project Accessory'?:
Project Accessory is a reality fashion competition on Lifetime. The show is a spinoff of Project Runway, the reality show that started on Bravo before moving to Lifetime. What sets Project Accessory apart from other fashion shows is its focus on accessory design. Accessories may capture the greatest portion of the fashion industry dollar, but nearly all fashion competitions revolve around clothing design.
How Does 'Project Accessory' Work?:
Twelve accessory designers compete in weekly challenges by creating one-of-a-kind jewelry, belts, bags, shoes, hats and other adornments. Challenges include designing around Swarovski crystals and embellishing a simple outfit of jeans and t-shirt.
What Does The Winner of 'Project Accessory' Win?:
The winner of Project Accessory takes home $100,000 (furnished by eBay Fashion) to launch their own line, coverage in InStyle magazine and twelve-months of runway hair styling courtesy of John Frieda® Precision Foam Color.
Who Hosts 'Project Accessory'?:
Project Accessory is hosted by actress and model Molly Sims, best known for role as Delinda Deline on the canceled NBC drama Las Vegas and her appearances in Sports Illustrated swimsuit issues.
Like Project Runway before it, Project Accessory has both a show host and mentor for contestants. The mentor who critiques the designers is Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti, the renown style icon and founder of the online store Vivre. She helps advise contestants on what to keep and which accessories to edit.
Who Are the 'Project Accessory' Judges?:
Project Accessory is judged by shoe designer Kenneth Cole and InStyle editor Ariel Foxman.
Who Produces 'Project Accessory'?:
Project Accessory is produced by The Weinstein Company and Good Bye Pictures.
When Does 'Project Accessory' Air?:
The fashion accessory competition premiered November 3rd, 2011. Project Accessory airs on Lifetime, Thursdays at 10/9PM Central.
