Get ready for ABC's new reality adventure series, Expedition Impossible, created by Mark Burnett of Survivor fame. Dave Salmoni hosts the show, which AceShowBiz.com calls "a more controlled version of The Amazing Race." We think it's a combination of that CBS competition and Discovery's Survivorman.
Contestants are broken into 13 teams of three, who race through physically demanding challeges over rugged terrain in Morocco, including snow capped mountains, raging rivers and dry deserts. (Oh and throw in a few untamable animals as well.)
Each team has character, from the New York Firemen to a trio of sassy Latina friends and a world- traveling sustainable farmer (on Team Gypsy, a trio which inexplicably rocks the mustache).
Expedition Impossible premieres on ABC, Thursday, June 23 at 9/8c or you can watch a trailer with the first 15 minutes of the debut episode.
The winning team will go home with $150,000 and a brand new Ford Explorer for each of the three winning team members.
Judging by Burnett's four other current reality TV hits-The Voice, Survivor, The Apprentice and Shark Tank-Expedition Impossible promises to be a summer breakout.
