Katharine Discusses Criticism That She Is Too Confident

"I think that’s actually ridiculous to say. I don’t know, too confident, what people don’t realize is that what they see on TV is all they see. I have never, for once, ever gone, 'Oh, I’m going to win this thing.' And I think the fact that I have not ever stated that or ever been too confident is the fact that I’m still here. And I think the people that get too confident are the ones who their fans get too confident too, and they think that they’re going to get through and don’t vote as much.

The fact that maybe I look a little bit more confident when I’m going through results, I mean if you watch the past couple weeks, I think my fact clearly described the fact that I’m not overly confident and that I could go home just as easily as somebody else. The judges have been really hard on me in the last couple weeks and I didn’t pick the songs. And I said it very kindly, I was like, 'I didn’t pick the song.' All they see is a glimpse of us on TV and they don’t know us.

So obviously this is part of the business, they’re going to say what they say or what they think, but it’s not necessarily true. I just laugh at it; I think it’s silly. Still at this point I’m like, 'Okay, top two.' I don’t think that I’m going to win. As you can see the margin is so close together, I mean it’s anybody’s game and I’ve always thought that from the very beginning." Katharine Discusses Her Plans for Finale Night.
