Hello again, girls

The girls are back for another week of fun, fashion, and catfights. This week doesn’t disappoint with the hysterics, outbursts, and shockers that have become trademark of Tyra’s show.

The diva is back

Monique’s diva-princess behavior hasn’t toned down this week. If anything, she’s bitchier than ever. The episode begins with her ranting about alarm clocks going off and interrupting her precious beauty sleep.

Say goodbye to that hairstyle

It’s time for the girls to undergo total hair makeovers. They have absolutely no say in the matter. Viewers can’t help but wanting to shriek, “If you don’t want to change your hair and you’re going to throw a kiddy tantrum, why did you sign up for the show?” Most of the hairstyle choices are fairly conservative changes. Many of the girls are given extensions or color changes that all improved the girls’ overall appearances. The one exception was Jaeda. Her Eva Mendez like beauty will be tested as they crop off those lovely tresses in a pixie-like boy cut that is meant to embrace her androgynous beauty.

Cry me a river

One would think Jaeda would be the girl to burst into tears. She does get a bit misty-eyed as she wonders aloud if she’ll be able to work her new hairstyle. The result is less than beautiful. I personally never thought she looked masculine until now. I felt sorry for her as I stared at her new look. She handles it in a pretty stoic way, however. Monique, the resident drama queen, is another story. She breaks into a fit of hysterics even going so far as to sob on the toilet. Why? Was it because they cut off her hair? Was it because they changed the color? No. It is because America got to see her without her weave.

Shall I direct you to the door?

As the girls whine and pout over the hairstyle changes, viewers fight off the urge to help them pack. Jay’s right when he tells them that if they can’t handle it, they don’t have what it takes to be a model.

Time is ticking

It’s time for the new challenge. The girls have to show up to meet a Cover Girl exec. They are told to wear no makeup whatsoever. They are informed that they will have thirty seconds to grab some makeup and get on an elevator, quickly applying the makeup. They are then given thirty seconds to grab a dress and put it on in the elevator. They then have thirty seconds to grab shoes, accessories, get in the elevator and put them on then emerge to meet a Cover Girl exec to whom they will have to “sell” their new look. If any girl misses an elevator, she’s automatically disqualified.

Pass me a tissue

We might feel a bit sad for Meg when she misses the elevator, but I doubt any viewers shed tears as Monique missed elevator number two. We know the other housemates will have to deal with her wrath later.

Queen Latifah

Queen Latifah is the surprise Cover Girl exec. She chooses Eugena as the winner of the challenge. I was a bit surprised because I didn’t think she looked all that pretty. Eugena is told she can pick two other girls to take on a photo shoot. She chooses Jaeda and CariDee.

Words of love from Monique

Monique returns to the house mad at the world. She says some lovely things about the other girls such as:
“I’m a princess of the throne.”
“I’m not here to make friends with you guys. I don’t care.”

The never-ending call

Monique makes a phone call that could be an advertisement for the Energizer battery. It keeps going and going and going… By the time her three hour and eleven minute phone call ends, the girls hate her more than ever.

Hair if you dare

All the girls are off for a wacky and wild hair photo shoot. They are given extreme hairstyles complete with wigs and hair that actually whirls and spins. From shades in every color of the rainbow to wacky textures, the hairdos are odder than you’d find at a rave. The girls’ challenge is to shine in the photos, their beauty overpowering the hairstyles.

Another one bites the dust

The photo shoot is fun to watch. Some of the girls really managed to look stunning. In the end, the two girls facing elimination are Jaeda and Megan. I couldn’t help but feel for Jaeda. Her photo shoot was terrible, but I was pulling for her to last one more week. After all, they chopped off her hair! I was in luck. Megan was eliminated.

Tune in next week

The previews show Mrs. J walking a tight rope and Monique doing more of what she does best…
