Lisa is out
Although she is a beautiful young lady, Lisa was last week’s casualty due to her own lack of confidence. Five ladies remain: Jenah, Bianca, Saleisha, Heather, and Chantal. Heather says that she feels she was in the bottom two with Lisa because of her poor performance on the commercial. Chantal says that Lisa should still be there. Ouch! Jenah, probably speaking for everyone else, says the competition is more about personality than skills. The general mood of the house is that Heather has been given one too many pats on the back because of her disability. A note arrives that says “zou & jean,” which the ladies correctly interpret as Go See’s. Yes, the favorite week for me too!
Go See the “GO SEE”
The next day, Susan Yang, the Go See Guide of this episode, stresses to them that they need to show they have a lot of personality and make sure they are on time. They will be given transportation (personal cabs) and a translator, and have to meet Ms. Yang back at the studio at 6:p.m. sharp. The catch: the cabs will drop them in the general area of the Go See. Also, the translator is only along for the ride. She/he will stay in the cab. Once they step out of the cab, they are on their own with a map. In Chinese. Here’s hoping they have their “China Books” with them. The ladies have to strut their stuff for five top Chinese designers: Lu Kun, Flora Zeta, Stephen Peng, Helen Lee and Fiona Vong. Saleisha goes to see Lu Kun first. I’m not sure what he meant exactly, but he said that “Saleisha is a pretty girl, but argh!” as he threw his hands up in the air. Does that mean she got on his nerves? Was she hard to work with? What Lu Kun? Help us out here! Saleisha does manage to impress Helen Lee though. Next, she heads downstairs in the same building to see Fiona Vong. Bianca is still strutting her stuff, so Saleisha has to wait. When Bianca asks her if she is far from Helen Lee’s office, Saleisha says she doesn’t know. Bianca goes outside to her cab, only to have the translator tell her that the next address is right there in the same building she just left. Forgetting that she is often underhanded herself, Bianca quietly curses Saleisha’s antics.
Chantal had the nerve to show up in Lu Kun’s studio wearing hot pink underwear. He is distracted as she walks around in his see-through dress. He tells her to wear skin tone underwear from now on. Like they were told from day one. But who remembers the rules, right? Stephen Peng really liked Bianca’s style. Jenah was told she resembles Christy Turlingon, which she loved, but then she was also told that she has a terrible walk and needs to work on her personality. Oops. Chantal arrives during Saleisha’s time with Flora Zeta, and remarks that there is a fine line between kissing butt and giving compliments. She says this because Saleisha is being overdramatic with the compliments of every outfit and showing enough personality to make any director yell “cut!” Even so, Chantal mimics Saleisha and gives her own overly dramatic compliments.
And why haven’t I mentioned Heather? Because the entire time, Heather was running around Shanghai trying to find her first Go See. When she finally arrived, the other ladies had already been on at least three each. Heather did a quickie, and then ran out to find her cab gone. Knowing she needed to be back at the Go See Guide’s studio by 6 p.m., she started walking aimlessly around looking for her cab and hoping she was headed in the right direction. She even passed by Jenah’s cab, which was stuck in traffic. Jenah rolled down the window and asked her what was wrong, and Heather told her she couldn’t find her cab. Jenah told her that was too bad and rolled the window back up. Being a meanie has its drawbacks though; Jenah was late and thus disqualified, along with Chantal, who was also stuck in traffic. In fact, they made jokes about Heather wandering around when they got back to the studio. Only Bianca and Saleisha made it on time.
Heather finally found her cab, but it was too late. She made it back to the studio at 6:40 p.m. Not good. On the way back to their penthouse, the girls try to get Heather to loosen up and stop being so hard on herself. It doesn’t work. Uh oh. She’s turning into……dare I say it…….LISA!!! Later, while the ladies are out at dinner, Go See Guide Susan Yang shows up to announce that the winner of the Go See Challenge will be the face of the 2008 Beijing Olympic campaign, and if they look out into the water, they will see who it is. They look out to see Bianca’s face go by on a large boat. She is very happy to have won, as she should be. That was big, beautiful, can’t miss picture!
