Pairing up
Rather than randomly pairing the couples, they were allowed to introduce themselves to the group of the opposite sex. The twist was that they stood behind the group, not revealing what they looked like. Here is how things turned out:
Drew & Erin, ndrea & Matt, Sunjay & Tori, Cecile & Nate, Mario & Nadia, Jennylee and Neils, Scooter & Megan, and Paio & Sheree.
Highlights of the introductions
Drew actually came out and said, Drew is my name, and business is my game.
Sunjay performed his impression of a blender. Cecile said, I dont like drama. Save it for your mama. Scooter told us his nickname came from Muppet Babies.
The first challenge
The beauties had to use the Dewey Decimal system to retrieve three books from the shelves. Then their geek had to complete three challenges. The first was to get someones phone number, the second was to borrow a cell phone and make a call, and the third was to get someone to rub some suntan lotion on the geeks back.
Are these girls for real?
I wanted to reach out and shake some of the girls as I heard beauty after beauty squeal, My books not here. Tori was literally pathetic. It was painful watching her try to find her books.
The geeks hit the streets
As Matt slowly meanders down the road, not even bothering to approach most of the people, the other guys give it their best effort. I had to laugh when one of them asked a guy to rub suntan lotion on his back.
And the winners are
Nate and Cecile! This means that they escape elimination. But pretty soon, we find out there will be no elimination that night. Everyone can stay unless they choose to leave.
Name your price
The couples are told they need to decide if they would leave the game for the right amount of money. In a dramatic baton-holding ceremony, all of them decide that $20,000 is not enough money to forfeit their spot in the game. Matt and Andrea really came close to leaving, but in the end, all the teams decided to stick it out.
