Amazing Race Canada is now accepting applications.

The 12th international version of Amazing Race, the Canadian version is a Canadian-produced, complementary version of the American show.

Unlike the American version, Amazing Race Canada will take place only within the borders of Canada. Still, Canada is a large country with much to offer, as CTV says:

"The Amazing Race Canada will be different in that it will explore the divergent topography and disparate locales that Canada already provides, from Vancouver Island's tropical rainforest, Alberta's parched Badlands, the peaks of the Rockies, and the barren tundra of the Great White North, to the Boreal forests of Ontario and Quebec, the sea-faring ports of the Maritimes, the fjords of Newfoundland, and the teeming metropolises and undiscovered towns in between."

The show is scheduled for broadcast on CTV the summer of 2013 and the competition is only open to Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are at least 19 years of age by April 1st.

The producers of The Amazing Race Canada describe the perfect applicants as "dynamic and enthusiastic teams of two who are articulate, competitive, interesting, outgoing, and adventurous, who possess a strong personal connection. Teams must be willing to exert themselves in the process of detours, roadblocks, and other challenges as they race around the country, and endure approximately 28 days in various conditions, environments, and climates within Canada."

Applying is a simple three step process:

  • Step 1: Prepare a video for submission that focuses on the positives and negatives of the relationship between you and your teammate. The producers are eager to hear what makes your duo tick. Check out our advice on preparing a successful casting video.

  • Step 2: Take an up-close and personal photo of your team, as well close-up portrait photos of each individual, and upload the pictures so you can submit it with your online application.

  • Step 3: Completely fill out the online application and upload your video and photos by the deadline (currently February 28th).

Good luck!
