Taking the First Steps to Apply
Every show has its own application process. Some shows want you to attend an open casting call. Others require that you send an application or videotape. For some shows, the first step is contacting a casting agent by phone or email.

Whatever the first step may be, you can expect to share a great deal of information about your life while you are being considered for a reality show. Depending on the show, the application form you will initially fill out may have many pages and ask about anything from your most embarrassing moment to your political beliefs. Remember, this is just the beginning of many questions about your life.

If you make it through the first stages of the casting process, you must be willing to submit to a background check. Producers also want to know that you are in excellent physical and medical health.
