Joshuah tells Sharon he now knows of another secret couple in the house. Sheila and Allison are lesbians. Per Joshuah lesbians can hide their relationships better than gay men can. Apparently fictional lesbians can hide their relationships less well, as it turns out they aren’t actually a couple at all. Well, they are a couple of liars, but not romantically involved.From Verbal Abuse to an Alleged Alliance
Amanda speaks to Josh about the big blow out they had last week. She tells him she knows he didn’t mean everything he said and she forgives him. She doesn’t seem to know that people generally don’t appreciate being forgiven for things for which they are not sorry. She wants to form a secret alliance with him to the final three because no one would ever suspect that of them. I think she may be right, because I don’t think most people would suspect she could define the word “alliance’. He does eventually apologize, and hopes he can believe her. She seems to have left this exchange feeling as if an alliance was formed even though he was not shown entering into any kind of deal.“What a Catch!” - The Food Challenge
The housemates divide themselves into 2 teams. “Sea” Duction (aka the yellow team): Joshuah, Sharon, Ryan, Allison, Matt, and Natalie. “Dev” Ocean (aka the green team): Amanda, Alex, Shelia, Adam, Chelsia and James. Three people from each team will stand on the boats and hold fishing nets. The other three will get in the water and throw dead fish into the nets of the other team. The heavier the nets the harder they will be to hold, proving physics apply in any reality. The losing team will eat slop for the week (HOH are participating, but exempt from the slop). The green team loses, due to the superior stratagem of the yellow team.The Nomination Ceremony
James and Chelsia nominated Amanda and Alex and Matt and Natalie. They need Matt and Natalie to win the POV to eliminate Alex and Amanda.“Communication Breakdown” - The POV Challenge
Fake electric generators and power lines. The couples need to find their cables buried in copious amounts of peanuts and connect them to the wooden poles so they span one end of the course to the other. The first couple to solve the puzzle will win the POV and will enable the houseguests to receive information from the outside world. Loud cheering indicates they believe the communication will be more significant than what is actually in store. Joshuah and Sharon win the competition and they are all treated to some news from the outside. They learn that John McCain is still the frontrunner in the Republican primaries, Obama has taken the lead over Clinton for the Democrats, and Britney will be resuming contact with her boys. That was…anticlimactic.Someone Call The Paramedics
Allison suffers an allergic reaction while running laps and seeks medical attention. While the nurse tends to her by administering an Epi-Pen, Amanda and Natalie discuss the fact that Amanda is hypoglycemic and needs sugar. She then faints and upon regaining consciousness is quickly in the throes of a seizure. James holds her head in his lap while the nurse is administers glucose gel to raise her blood sugar. The nurse calls for juice or milk - and they don’t have a glass. Thankfully someone from the crew must have ponied up a cup so we didn’t have to see them attempt to pour milk into her mouth through a square bowl.Power of Veto - To Use or Not to Use
Joshuah and Sharon offer congratulations to Alex and Amanda for being the first to win HOH and Matt and Natalie for being the first to win POV Out of respect for the decision of the current HOHs, Joshuah and Sharon decline from using their POV. The couples are on the block and on their own.Eviction Ceremony - Goodbye
Joshuah and Sharon, Ryan, and Allison, and Adam and Sheila vote. Julie announces the votes were 3-0 to say so long to Amanda and Alex. As they say goodbye Amanda is wracked with sobs. Matt and Natalie are naturally relieved to have been saved for one more week.“Words of Love” - HOH Competition
The houseguests are playing for the coveted HOH position. They must correctly identify the authors of the “love quotes” displayed throughout the house. The first to buzz in (think Jeopardy style podiums) with a correct answer will eliminate another player. If they answer incorrectly they are eliminated instead. The women will face off and then the men. The winners of each round will then compete for HOH. But this wasn’t necessary, as the winner for the women was Sharon and Joshuah for the men. Since they are partners they are automatically the new HOH couple.This turn of events should make for an interesting week.
