WELCOME BACK EVERYBODY!
It’s time for Alison to reintroduce the former contestants. They each take turns popping through their pictures in their Sunday finest. Some are thin, some are thinner, some still have a way to go, but everyone has been working diligently at home and makes NBC, Weight Watcher’s Oatmeal and Wrigley’s proud. From the looks of it, the $100K second prize will either go to Mark, Bernie or Curtis. After everyone is assembled onstage, Alison explains that Paul, Kelly’s ex-husband and Biggest Loser Partner, will not be participating because he was too ill to make the trip to the finale. He didn’t even send a message via satellite. I have my theories, but I’ll keep them to myself. Psych! Did you really think I’d keep it to myself after a whole season? Theory #1: Paul didn’t lose any more weight and he’s home eating chicken wings. Theory #2: Paul and his girlfriend finally had “the talk,” and he can’t go within 500 feet of Kelly. Theory #3: Paul and the cops had a talk and he can’t go within 500 feet of Kelly, or ……..Paul is actually sick. I’m thinking #2. So then Alison tells them to get backstage and change for their final weigh-in ever. That gives us time for more footage of Ali, Kelly and Roger as they returned home to complete the final 6 weeks of the competition on their own. Kelly’s family and friends host a party for her at a local restaurant. Noticeably absent to cheer her on is Paul, who tried to cling to his ex-wife all season like his life depended on it. Makes Theory #2 more plausible. I’m just saying. Then Ali’s family and friends cry, laugh, and make merry upon her return. Back in Alabama, Roger is touched by the turnout for his homecoming. His wife is especially touched, since she married Roger at his heaviest and has never seen him so small. I’m thinking she was ready to jump on him and regretted having so many folks over.
