PUT A BANDAID ON THAT BOO-BOO, AND GET ON WITH IT
There are sad faces all around as the remaining players deal with the loss of Jacki. The Black team is disappointed that Mark and Jay would lie to Jacki and Dan. Dan is upset that a pact was broken. He feels betrayed by his team, and is actually comforted by the other team. This takes up enough time for me to actually wish they would interrupt with news about the primary.Bernie tells Roger to get his family (team) in order. Roger tells the Black team to mind their own business with their own team. Dan whines that he had to spend the night in his room without his mommy and it was hard. Personally, I think it’s getting old and he needs to get over it and get on with the game. The next morning, Dan does his best to avoid the rest of the Blue team. He eats alone. He works out alone. Bob decides to have a talk with Dan, and asks him how he plans to get his head back in the game. Dan wants to jump ship and go to the other team, but Bob tells him he must remain with the Blue team, and remember that he needs their help. Bob also reminds him, as he does with everyone, that he is there for him. His buddy. His pal. Dan says what I was thinking, “Hmm…I have Bob, but so do they…”
Jillian talks with her Black team. They tell her what happened, and although it sucks, she says that they can’t focus on Dan, and that he has to stay with the Blue team. She says the best thing for the Black team is to stay away from the Blue team and stay in focus. Jillian says that she loves Dan, but she just can’t deal with the Blue team’s drama, and neither should they.
BERNIE GETS HIS PRIZE
Since he was the Biggest Loser of the Week last week, Bernie gets to trek up the hill and choose either Family, Luxury or Game Play. He wisely chooses Game Play, and wins 50% off this week’s challenge. He wanted to know what that meant. I wanted to know what was in the other two envelopes since he galloped back down the hill without opening them.[OBAMA TAKES VIRGINIA AND DC. MARYLAND POLLS OPEN 1-1/2 HOUR LATER DUE TO BAD WEATHER AND TRAFFIC. McCAIN PROJECTED WINNER ALL OVER. ]
Dan is still complaining at the workout. He interviews that it is his plan to make the guys feel that he is now okay with what happened. He’ll tell them that someone had to go. He says he needs to form a bond if he wants to stick around. He goes to the fellas and tells them he’s fine, and Mark says that Dan has a mature point of view, he apologizes and says he regrets lying (insert violins here…). Jay also apologizes, and says he could have handled it better. Roger says they are a team, and that Dan is the light of the house, with a big chance of taking home the prize. Dan says that all he asks for is honesty going forward. Trent interviews that he feels everyone is now on the same page. Mark’s sneaky behind stops tearing up long enough to interview (with a smile) that if they fall below the yellow line at the weigh-in, Dan will probably go home. Snake.
THE CHALLENGE
The players greet Alison at the lake. They must choose two pairs from each team to balance on beams over the cold water while holding onto weights that are the equivalent of the weight they have lost so far. Since Bernie got a “50% off at the challenge” advantage, he only has to carry half of his weight loss. The winning team will receive immunity for two people; one from each team. Because of the knee injury he sustained during the see-saw challenge, Trent sits out for the Blue team, and Kelly is chosen to sit out for the Black team. Dan is paired with Mark of all people, and he has the heaviest weight to balance. Dan doesn’t let it go unnoticed that Mark orchestrated his mother’s ticket home, but he wants to win so he has immunity from his own team’s wrath. Alison does her job, which is to give a play-by-play of what’s happening and build suspense, but when Mark starts to slip up, he tells her to stop being dramatic and acting like they are on a soap opera, which is a swipe at her day job as Sami on Days of Our Lives. I was mad Alison didn’t say something smart back to make him fall in the water.Roger and Jay drop first. Dan has to hold most of the weight as Mark continues to struggle, and eventually Mark can’t do it and falls off of the balance beam, forcing Dan down with him. I am totally sure that Mark threw that challenge, hoping Dan would not get immunity on their team. Both Black pairs remain in place, with Paul telling Maggie to let go so he can balance the remaining weight on his own just push it in Mark’s face that he can. Alison congratulates the Black team, and then says that the immune player’s weight will still count at the weigh-in.
